[Archived] Season Ticket Prices 2016/17

Recommended Posts

Talk sense man they are the cheapest in the league or maybe even the whole football league, now granted the football is crap, each one of us will decide if we renew or not, no need to get wound up about it, a game is less than four pints. From what i see many supporters drink that before a game . :brfc:

Here we go again, the common myth that Rovers season tickets are the cheapest in the football league. Been having the same debate with Venky apologists on the Rovers Facebook site. They may have been the cheapest when John Williams reduced prices 10 years ago but certainly not now. See Bradford, Huddersfield and Wigan to name but many. Far cheaper than Rovers. To have increased season tickets by 50p would have been a poor marketing exercise given the shambolic state of affairs. A £20 hike is just scandalous.

I can afford the hike, as I am sure most can. It is just the principal of it. 27 years I have been a season ticket holder. Count me out!

The tweets the other day where bad, and as well as basically having a go at a fellow FF member, apologised to the club at the same time.

Then last night the person I believe posted those tweets, removed them due to it giving people a 'reason to moan' (not that they where awful, and factually incorrect). He then went on his personal twitter feed and made a series of posts in support of the club, and having a go at anyone who was directly affected, thought it was badly handled by the club etc.

Within a few minutes of me posting that persons name on here, and asking him to resign from the fans forum for not representing the fans, and belittling them he deleted his tweets and didnt reply.

Are you in a position to name this person?

So a question is now having a go at Rover's fans personal circumstances - lol.

If you have a look back at my recent posts - I may not get a ST as I recently lost my job - so I am the last person to have a go at any fans not attending because of their personal circumstances.

Have a look back at my posts, then.

I said you flippantly dismiss. Which you do.

This.. "move here, move there, it's on a chair" attitude bemuses me.

People shouldn't be forced to move.

Speaking to a work mate, yesterday. He's been in the Blackburn End Upper since it opened.

He was going to go to Ewood to lay it on the line, and if they dismiss him (much like DMTP) he will refuse to renew.

He won't be alone.

DMTP. Let's see how committed you are to your own premise.

You should move to the JW UPPER.

Will you...

I have friends whose family have been front row as central as possible since the day it opened, people like this may not renew.

I'm taking my 5 year old down today to get a view from the new area to see how much he could see

It obvious that the £20 increase across the 3 stands is to offset the massive reductions available in the JW stand.

Existing JW ST holders are getting whopping savings in there & I just feel that they should have minimised this in order to keep prices elsewhere the same.

That said it would have meant the increase still applied to FS members moving to the new area, but as a goodwill gesture I'm sure nobody would have minded if the increase was waived.

Ok - look back at my posts - I have already said that I would move from the Riverside if it was for the financial good of the club. I used to sit in the DE - and accepted being moved 3 or 4 times a season because I accepted the rationale.

I am not dismissive of other people's feelings - but think this is a good idea given our circumstances. You can never keep everybody happy - but at some point things have to change - though I would agree there should have been more consultation.

Though stats can be presented to meet personal agenda's - I did notice a couple of things in the LET ;-

"Blackburn Rovers have reported opening day season ticket sales were more than double than what they were last year."

"And almost 50 per cent of opening day season ticket sales came in the new Family Stand."

I think an important thing people have conveniently ignored when it comes to attracting families to Ewood - Junior ticket prices were either frozen or reduced.

That's surely people who want to renew grabbing the best seats quickly

Highly likely - as I said stats can be used to meet agenda's - the true picture will only be towards the start of the season.

It does show that, though the people that have renewed may or may not be happy with the changes - their commitment to attending Rovers remains.

I thought you weren't renewing Tom? :P

I may have said that I may not I honestly don't recall and it's hard to keep track on my moaning, I'll let the boy make the decision when we have a look

It's almost a forced pressured decision now - a totally new block means the plum seats will go and the longer you consider the worse the options get

The fact is, if 1672 rovers fans choose not to renew through this, Venkys don't care because they have saved the same amount of money they would have brought in by not employing Chris Brown for next season.

Number crunching, book balancers, who simply do not care a jot about people's feelings, opinions, experience and wellbeing.

The truth of this is because people are desperate to scramble for an acceptable view, rather than relax and renew the seat they've had for 20+ years, in their own time.

Yeah, I would imagine seats next to the dugout will be pretty much snapped up immediately.

It also shows that the views of some on here - i.e. that they won't attend because they are being asked to move - isn't held by all.

Damn those Rovers Fans - lol

There's always a bit of a knee jerk on the first day of ST sales. I'm sure some do it so quick just so they can proclaim all over social media that they have done. It means nowt in the grand scheme of things but of course the club knowing they are under fire will dress it up anyway they can. Then some jump all over it...........

It then tends to slow down to a steady trickle.

Of course first day sales are up there's hundreds of people misplaced who now need to find a new seat, I imagine first day sales are never high

There was just over 10,000 ST holders at the start of last season (down by around 700-800).

The people who have been very vocal about not renewing on various Rovers pages seems to have died down & I have always been of the opinion that most in the 'maybe' bracket will end up renewing.

So what can we expect sales wise this time around? I'll go for another reduction, but possibly not by as many as first thought. I think we will hit the 9k mark.

Well I'm not going full stop. Im not changing my mind. I'm not going to have a look and see what seat they can offer me. I'm like abbey not going until they are gone. I've had enough. It's been coming for the last few years and several times I've not renewed at the start of the season only to be conned into buying one later ie when kean left and when we appointed Lambert. This time we really can't see the point. We continue to care but not enough to tie ourselves to attending Ewood dreary week after dreary week.

Didn't we sell a few hundred half STs as well?

So in reality 10500 holders (ish), we end up selling say 8000, that's another horrendous drop.
