[Archived] Season Ticket Prices 2016/17

Recommended Posts

It seems quite a few people have still not received their renewal packs through the post.

The club's twitter account is now saying that all packs have been sent out, and that for those people who haven't received one if they contact the club a replacement will be sent, but 'you don't need a pack to renew'.

So presumably, if the club have sent out renewal packs to all season ticket holders, yet many, myself included, still haven't received them, then the Royal Mail are to blame. The club seems to be suggesting that they have now done their job and produced/posted the packs, but for some unknown mysterious reason the postman has decided not to deliver the letters to the right addresses.

Has anyone else ever heard such rubbish?

The club would be better just admitting the truth. The whole season ticket process has been a complete shambles. The pricing structure has been odd, the closing of the family stand, the increasing of prices in the Riverside alongside a drastic reduction in the Jack Walker, the date of announcing prices was ridiculously late, the posting of renewal packs was ridiculously late, the fact that a large number of people appear to have not been sent packs, and this attitude that people shouldn't want/expect a postal pack and should either ring up or do it online instead. Whether its the easiest way or doing it or not is irrelevant. For as long as I can remember the club has allowed people to renew by sending them a form to fill in and return or drop off at Ewood. I know that there are a lot of people who have always renewed this way and it is they way they like it.

Its just a complete shambles.

If they are so keen to save the money and hassle of producing renewal packs then just say so and let everyone know they can't renew by post anymore. But instead they come up with excuses about 'problems' in getting them delivered and upset more people by not delivering them at all.

They're completely incompetent at the top AND on the ground at Ewood. No one dare do a thing without say so from India or wherever so no wonder they don't employ anyone with initiative because you can't use it anyway.

The worst thing is no one gives a damn it's take it or leave it attitude has now spread through the whole club. Absolutely geared for failure. I still can't help but think something is brewing away in the background and it isn't good.

Not long ago even with ST's were still being bombarded asking them to buy one. Overkill to ignorant in 18 months.

They can find a way to alienate more supporters in everything they do. The next step will be to write to people who have renewed and ask them what their tipping point is so they can concentrate on that next year.

Claret & Blue away kit?

I wasn't sure whether my legs would let me get to my seat in the JW upper and it's such a good view that I wanted to use it if possible so I went down to Ewood today and a nice girl took me to the seat. I was very pleased that I was able to get there and back so I have done the deed and renewed. She is also arranging for a lift pass for me to go up and down in the lift before and after matches. A nice touch.

Incidentally I got to see the pitch which has been completely returfed and looks an absolute picture.

I wasn't sure what to do, but now that I have done it I'm pleased that I did. You can't forget 60odd years of supporting Rovers no matter how you try.

Looking forward to it now.

You don't need to apologise for renewing your season ticket chaddy. I know one or two who had serious doubts about renewing but have done so nevertheless, as I did this week. At the end of the day how you spend your leisure time is entirely up to you.

I completely agree. I don't blame anyone for going and everyone is entitled to change their mind.

Really pleasing to know that Al :) and also to know that some people at the club are still willing to try.

No but my lad received a birthday card from the club to celebrate his 12th birthday. A very nice card really with a Rovers shirt and "Happy Birthday 12" shirt on the back.

He's 13.

Just had to do a quick search for this post as I remember reading it a few weeks back.

My daughter celebrated her 11th birthday yesterday and yes she did receive a card from the club ............

Happy Birthday 12 !!! FFS

I think they must only have 12 cards left and no-one has thought to order a few more in different ages - at least she can save hers for next year - Stuart's lad's gonna struggle on that score!

In other news, we have received our renewal packs and as much as it hurts me to give them any more cash, I'm going to have to. Like others it's in the blood, it'd hurt more to stay away. Plus it's time that myself, my daughter and my dad all spend together (even though he sits in a different stand we travel together and socialise before & after).

They'll have to wait til deadline day before I do though, they're not having it early!

You might be on to something there.

Could it not be representing the 12th man i.e the fans?

Over at PG when announcing the team on match days no 12 is always given out as You The supporters

Yes that's probably what it is. Because Rovers are always referring to us as the 12...

Well, that's when they aren't trying to drown us out.

Seriously though, if that was the intention, it's a very big miss.

I think you may be giving the club a little too much credit there and it's a bit cryptic for any kids to grasp the concept. I'll see if I can upload a picture when I get home as it certainly looks more like a 12th birthday card. My daughter certainly thought it was.

Absolutely superb Al and credit to the lass in the office, not everything's rotten at the club.

Seem to remember the 12th man campaign at rovers about 3/4 years ago?

Will save this post , not been accused of giving the club credit for a long time :)

There are a lot of thoroughly decent people working at Ewood and at least when you renew your ticket you know that much of the money is going to pay their wages. They certainly don't deserve to suffer because of the stupidity of the owners.

The good people at Ewood (of which I now a few) are the one thing I feel guilty about by not renewing but I personally felt that I had to draw a line in the sand and the Coyle appointment was my tipping point. You are correct in saying they don't deserve to suffer but aside from boycotting I rally don't know what I could do to send the Indians and the nodding dogs at Ewood a message.

A good mate of mine said the very same to me recently Parson and yes I understand its not their fault that we have terrible owners that have destroyed the club and decimated the fan base,

BUT.......

If I was working for the club under Venkys I'd have left long ago, its not a stable environment to work in, the staff must already feel that, and when thats been the case in my career I've left, found another job, so frankly that doesn't wash with me.

My son got one as well - he's 5!

Whilst it looked odd I presumed it was meant to imply 12th man

Parson , if job cuts are made will you blame fans?

No Abbey. At the end of the day everybody spends their leisure time how they want. If people don't want to go to the Rovers, for whatever reason, then that's a personal choice and they are free to do so without criticism as far as I'm concerned just as those that renew their tickets are free to do so without criticism.

Did you see any signs of a new TV camera gantry being built in the Riverside?

The current climate isn't exactly perfect for this! I agree mostly, and I'm sure many who've left the club for the same reason would agree but some people will have not many other opportunities.

Working for BRFC would be a dream come true for me, even now. So taking that into account and the difficulty finding work, it's not quite as simple as an "excuse".

People may have a lesser view of others for working for "them" but opinions can be different. I wouldn't criticise anyone for making a decision based on their own choice!

I don't think the people working for Rovers have any moral obligation to leave, but neither do the fans have any moral obligation to keep them in a job. The only people responsible for the loss of jobs are the owners.
