I'd rather go off the 85 goals he scored for us in a very average to poor side rather than him being stuck in a team that's doing well and him being surplus.

I'm totally amazed that anyone thinks we wouldn't do better with him right now. You're basically saying you'd take Chris Brown over him.

Right now that cash we "extracted" is only any good if it's reinvested and how likely is that?

I think the fact he only scored a couple of goals in his final few months at Rovers and he's scored one and had an og credited to him since a mega money move proves it was a good decision - so far.

Yes I'd prefer him to Brown but We had the best of him and I saw nothing to suggest that he was a top flight player.

I would suggest Huddersfield fans would argue as to who had the best of him.

Yesterday was a lot of what I don't want to see from Rovers. The play and passing was far too slow and there was a real lack of intensity. In fairness Wolves were equally as bad as us and it really made for a poor game with far too many players going through the motions.

The sooner this season ends the better and we have some idea what is happening.

Do you think that Lambert's future is affecting them?

Is it time to play a couple of youngesters in the next couple of games?

All the uncertainty could be having an adverse effect on player morale and I have no doubt that some will use it as an excuse for below par performances. I thought the body language of a few players yesterday was poor.

I would like to see a couple of the youngsters blooded between now and he end of the season. If Graham's injury is going to keep him out Lambert might have no choice but to include Mansell, Forrester or Mahoney as we will only have Jackson and Brown available as strikers.

Agreed he is not a top flight player, which means he is almost certainly going to be transferred again, once Boro go up. Assuming it is this year and we get the fee and the promotion bonus, it will be interesting to see, how much Boro sell him for. I now it could be argued that they will have the funds to throw away, assuming they lose significantly on him, but the chances are, if the do go up, they would have done so without him. Ifs buts and maybes granted, but all in all, we had to sell him.

Next game against Huddersfield,Kilgallon has to play L/B,played very well yesterday,Put Lowe at R/B his best position, move Marshall up into diamond/wing,up front Graham and Jackson,he won more headers at 5 ft nothing than Brown, who at 6ft 2in never wins a header,if Graham dosent make it,throw young Mansel in......

Agree poor Rovers showing, same for Wolves, felt like one of those nothing to play for mid table end of season fixtures, reckon we will see a few more before the end of the season, the uncertainty from the owners really won't help as players on loan may not be playing for a perm move.

It actually proves nothing as JR always had barren spells and would then score a hatful a month later. And it's only a good decision if we see the benefits of it. That he wasn't a top flight player is of no importance right now as we're nowhere near being there, and less likely to be there with no one to score goals for us.

Right now the games we've got coming up are of no importance, we aren't getting relegated. However next season we need to replace him, especially if Lambert leaves and we get another rookie manager. JR bailed us out with his goals once upon a time.

Yet again we find ourselves in Groundhog Day territory. Season has petered out - several meaningless games left and yet the 'youngsters' are nowhere to be seen.

Do we still have an Academy? Surely it can't say much for the players if some of our current lot are keeping them out of the side. I.e. - a striker that can't score, a set piece taker that can hardly clear the first man etc.

Playing a few of them might be the only way of injecting something into the side. I feel for the fans that will go and watch a bunch of half triers going through the motions. I heard football is supposed to the the 'entertainment industry'.

Simply awful!

Don't get the constant hammering of Brown, the lad gave 110% yesterday, he can't do anymore with limited ability.

The manager picks him, he runs his socks off and gives his all, thats all I expect as a fan.

The reason he's lining up for us is because of the owners, we have nobody better because they've turned us into a very average championship side with no money, thats where the blame lies not with the player.

Give me a Brown over a lazy idle rat like Best any day of the week.

It's because he's crap and an actual liability on the field. Give me Best any time.

Manger picks him Al.

We've both worked with colleagues that have been useless I'm sure, its not their fault that they find themselves promoted beyond their abilities, the blame lies further up the food chain, same with Brown, yesterday he ran his socks off the lad, I have no problem with that at all.

That's the problem. If he wasn't picked he couldn't do any damage apart from stealing his wages.

Lambert favours a 'scrapper' up front, he's practically said as much. As w*nk as Brown might be, he's the only recognised striker (other than Graham) who can play that role. No more square pegs and all that.
