Unfortunately, if the FA had any standards at all, Venky's wouldn't be here in the first place. The standards are set by FA not by U and me. After all these 5 years you would surely have realized that money is the name of the game. Whether you choose to believe it or not is entirely up to you.

Why are you going off at a tangent, I am talking about one legal entity vetting another one using high standards, why lower the tone with an inferior organisation like the FA

Thats because thats the reality of life. You do not own BRFC and you are not selling it to me. The fit and fine standards are not set by you but by the FA. If we have to get the club from Venky's we have to deal with them and FA not with any other entity. So, I know exactly what I am on about. You can disagree and maybe ask your friends that you are unwilling to name to use ANY legal entity to get Blackburn Rovers back from the Venky's. Everyone will be more than happy to have your friends own BRFC than Venkys.

So name a figure. Unless you are going to go the 0 pounds and 1 pounds and 2 pounds way. Which is as Laughable as 120 million if not more. If you can name a reasonable figure that is and also let me know how you arrived at that figure.

Not sure if you are young and naive, just naive, or on the wind up.

We will get whatever it is worth to whomever wants to buy, and it ain't worth £120m - even to the club's most ardent fans - even if they could afford it.

Venkys came into the club and sold off every player of any value. They were on a merry-go-round of high value, expensive players that gave them access to a large income stream by being in the Premier League. They took a huge dump on that merry-go-round by allowing an unqualified (in the colloquial sense), inexperienced, incompetent bloke to run the team and took bad advice. In doing this, they spent (loaded onto debt) millions and millions of pounds whilst continuing to destroy the first team (directly or indirectly). What is left now is a shell. Do you think that the value of a football club is in the real estate, the ground, the fixtures and fittings? No, it's in the potential success, size of fanbase and access to prize money.

They bought a thoroughbred racehorse (one of only 20 in the world) and now they want to make a profit by selling the same clapped out, starving, emaciated nag, when the only buyers are a toss up between a volunteer group who happen to have a soft spot for the old mare, and the glue factory?

Name a price? £1 would be a good deal. They should be paying someone to take this money pit off their hands!

You obviously don't like being wrong but hey ho, you are wrong, the FA fit and proper test is so they can issue a propective owner a licence to operate a football club. We all know how slack that is.

Due diligence carried out to a high standard is a different matter and is the responsibility of the owner of the entity to set the bar. Which if I was involved would far exceed anything the limp FA would require.

From what I have read so far you would not pass so your £4 offer is out of the window already.

So you truely believe that Venky's will sell the club for pound 1? If yes, you are as naive or wound up as I am if not more. They should sell it for that price but will they? They should have got us playing in europe, did they? They should have got Rolandinho for us, did they? Its all wishful thinking. And then I woke up. If someone cant buy the club from them, is there any other way to get the club back? No. Not unless you go the portsmouth way and buy it after we are in League2 at best and conference at worst. What would you advocate? Protests? It hasn't worked out yet. Maybe you can suggest some way of protesting that others non naive people have missed so that we can get the club back from the Venkys because surely 1 pound isn't going to buy you BRFC.

I would LOVE to be wrong. In fact I sincerely wish I was wrong. In fact I pray that I am wrong. The only problem is the Club ownership still reads Venky's not You nor any of your friends whom you wont name.

Show me where I said that I believe (or truly believe) that they will sell for £1.

You said make an offer so I did but unlike your fake offer mine is genuine.

They are not capable of working out the value of the club they are www.confused.co.in

What makes you think you should know the names ? is it irritating you ?

The only reason it is their name over the door is because they don't know what to do.

Do I believe they would? No. They are idiots. They should but they won't.

You do realise that entire businesses change hands for a nominal £1 because of the debts included, don't you?

Unless they return this club to the Premier League they are getting nothing.

So then why are we arguing ? Show me where I have written that I truly believe that we should pay 140 million to the Venkys. Where did I say that they are capable of working out a value or not. When did I say they were NOT confused? The original post I clearly said that let us assume that the Venkys would "presumably" be ready to sell at that price. And from their perspective they would definitely not mind getting their money back. They are as unlikely to sell for pound 1 as anyone is as unlikely to buy the club from them for 140 million. That was the gist of it.

Of course I know what debt is. I might not be as brilliant as you, but I am not illiterate. I know that businesses change hands for 1 pound because of debts. Does not mean a person will sell for 1 pound. Knowing the Venkys' they will probably let the debts go higher and higher or get us into admin leaving us a couple of leagues below. They should let it go at 1 pound but they wont. As the price increases their chances of letting go of the club get higher. They might not relent at pound 1 but surely some figure would entice them. 10 - 20 - 30 - 40 - 50 million? Do we know such a figure? Or are you saying even if they were offered 120 million they would not be interested? So that it doesn't come to administration and we can still get the club back at a reasonable price?

I didn't realise we were arguing.

But our difference of opinion stemmed from you saying £1 was a laughable figure. It certainly isn't. It is entirely reasonable. However our club's jailers are not reasonable people.

Ok fair enough I failed the test and you passed. Do you have the club with you? How did it help the club?

Where did I say I was taking the test ?

I don't understand the part in bold, sorry

But you kept saying I failed i failed as if I was buying the clubs from Venkys. I was taking about a price that could be deemed reasonable to get the club back from the venkys assuming they would sell. It was just a hypothetical question on if a price can be fixed for buying the club from Venkys. Nobody would pay more than 1 pound fair enough. Nothing wrong in that. And Venkys would not accept 1 pound. How does that rid the club of Venky's? Surely there would be some figure that you think they would agree to. I just wanted to know that figure, that you think will make the Venky's part with the club, thats all.

Stop going off at a tangent, the due diligence test was if we were considering your offer of £4 pounds to buy the club after we paid £2 for, do try to keep up.

As for the figure the Rao's would accept, if I knew that then money would be no object would it because I would probably also know the meaning of life.

I still don't understand the part in bold, I don't think you answered that question in your reply.

Your odd convention of posting your reply before the quote is problematic.

However, I've no clue what you mean by that statement.

Ok I will put the question straight. Do you believe in a figure that you think would encourage the Venkys to take an offer. if yes, what is that figure?

That's not really a question as the answer is that they won't talk to anybody who might make an offer. If somebody offered £120m they'd want £150m.

I can only answer with what I think that a reasonable owner would accept at this stage. £1, cut their losses, keep their pride (by writing off the debt) and move on leaving somebody else to fill in the £2m per month hole (assuming the figure being banded about is still accurate).

You dont have to convince me, you have to convince them. I might think that they should pay someone to get the club off their backs. Forget getting paid anything. It does not matter what I think. If Blackpool can do 16 million I am sure our fans can do > 2 pounds. I do not own BRFC nor am I affiliated with the Venkys because I live 500 kms away from PUNE. If you can get the club for 2 pounds I will get the Rovers trust to buy it. I am sure they will fall under your fit and fine and due diligence list

Sorry to butt in but just to mention the Blackpool thing, they already had a wealthy guy on board, Russian I think. He threw his hat in with the Oystons and got his money back out of the parachutes then fell out with them and their mishandling of the club.

He was the clout behind the fans takeover bid and another reason why the O's won't surrender control. Factor in why they got involved so heavily with BFC in the first place, real estate and all the land around that location at Bloomfield road almost in the centre of a place like Blackpool. They'll never let it go for that reason unless some wealthy American mob offer them 50 mill plus to build a casino on it, which is what they were after a long time ago I think.

Ownership wise completely different to us really.
