[Archived] Let's Make 7Th May V Reading A "day To Remember"

Recommended Posts

The best thing the Action Group could do is to produce the fabled dossier of information that was going to be released to the public several years ago but which for some reason has never seen the light of day.

A few like minded supporters not action group related are very close to getting this to print, hopefully within the next week, I was in London last week, which delayed things a little but this story is moving after additional information was produced which others sat on.

keep the faith :-)

Indeed. Some people just "fish" about but others go all the way and reel in the big shark.

It's too late for any of that. It might be interesting to us, but nobody is going to care enough for this to make any difference at this point.

If this could've been put online when we where still top division, maybe something might have come of it.

imagine if nobody pitched up at the Reading game, and just stood outside in protest. has that ever happened at any club?

I would be quite prepared to travel down from Glasgow and do exactly that. I would equally be prepared to invade the pitch and sit in the centre circle but for that second plan to work it would need everyone (or certainly a couple of thousand) to join in.

I liked what Blackpool fans did with the tennis balls on the pitch.

Its been done and it didn't work. This club shouldn't copy the likes of Blackpool its bigger and better than that. I assume Charlton Athletic copied them or you mixed up the 2?

I'd be prepared to come back for this if something was arranged. I agree that giving the players both barrels would be a therapy of sorts after another disgusting season.

Its not too long ago people were feeling more positive after 4 home league wins in a row. Then Venkys start spreading their poison again though perhaps the players should be more professional. It depends if that's what Lambert really thinks or if its an excuse. If people claim Lambert's body language was poor on Saturday that's not good enough. Its the managers job also to motivate the players (though managers should look for total self motivation abilities within their teams) though I'm not turning against Lambert. Its clear today on twitter though some people are tiring of his recent comments.

Can't see the point in booing the loanees either particularly as some of them (perhaps all) won't be returning.

Sounds great to me Glen and I think it may just create a few waves, especially with the powers that be. Do we not still have the same problem as before though, with the crucial evidence being a stolen document?

Were/are Venkys aware of the dossier? It's been a while so forgive my poor memory.

Just wondering, if the content is particularly damaging it might encourage cutting us loose at the end of the season.

Yes, BRFC is far bigger and better than Blackpool FC but, in terms of protesting, our fans aren't.

When you consider just what Venky's have done to us over the last five and a half years and our reaction to that, it's nothing short of embarrassing.

I remember protesting on the Blackburn End after a game in Sept/Oct 2011. I was suffering from sciatica at the time and could barely put one foot in front of the other. I couldn't drive because of the pain and only just made the bus stop afterwards. At the end of the game the Riversiders filed out towards their Blackburn End exit, all looking left at us. They just carried on walking and I remember thinking no one gives a f---. Less than five per cent of our fan base was prepared to actually do something for God's sake!

When it comes to supporters who are prepared to stand up and be counted, we are way down the league.

It'll never be too late for the truth to come out. Won't make much difference to the clubs current plight but if it drags a few names through the mud finally then it's justified.

It could be argued that threatening to take action from behind a keyboard/phone is also a passive act to be fair.....I'm getting a bit fed up of reading criticism of fans and what they should/should have done when nobody else did any different. What are YOU doing differently?

The fact of the matter is you need massive support for any campaign to work. If you cannot get enough people to protest, the sad truth is that the club is least of their priorities even if they refuse to admit that in public, lest they be called "lesser fans".

Well I didn't just threaten, and I'd be prepared to do it again if I felt the situation warranted it.

But yes, you're right of course, talk is cheap.

Get to the IPL on Friday punerover, painted bed sheet hanging from the top tier in Pune saying:

"Back Lambert or cluck off"

If I were a cricket fanboy I would not be following ROVERS. I had a couple of English fans who work here from Bolton who were surprised to know that I follow Blackburn. All they had met are Arsenal, manu, manc chelsea n liverpool fans in India. I follow a local football team that is a nobody and I am happy following the sport I like. Also, the Raos have no IPL interests, the pune franchise is NOT owned or operated by the Raos. It would look really stupid to hold a RAO placard on a cricket ground in a cricket match regarding a football team that no Indians are interested in, let alone the Indian media. I get ridiculed here by some members on this message board because of my perceived lack of football knowledge how stupid would it look to the Indian media? Also, all placards are censored on TV in IPL. If I hold one does not mean they will show one. :P While its good to be passionate, its better to be practical. I dont think doing that would help the cause at all. Do you disagree?

Fare enough punerover, thanks for the reply.

I feel you're slightly over complicating the situation, and even over thinking the possible impact a banner may have. Millions will be tuning in both here in the UK and around the world I'd imagine so its a good opportunity.

The "Kean Out" placard at the WWE in the US went world wide, no venkys, no kean and no real interest for the vast majority of the crowd either.

As I say fare play, its not for everyone.
