Venkys have decimated our support and put fan against fan.

The goodwill and loyal support built up under the care of the Jack Walker tenure has been all but destroyed.

I will be amazed if we sell 8,000 Season tickets....sad times but the fans have made a stand.

This time the truth of actual figures might find it's way back to India. I doubt anyone will actually stand there and tell them why a lot of loyal fans are now staying away, because they've had enough of YOUR ridiculous untrustworthy association with the club !

I would be surprised if we end up selling more than 6,000 a lot of people have just had enough, some of Venkys some of the poor standard.

I guarantee it would almost double with promotion though and hopefully if the owners left as well

I reckon we will selling around 7k season tickets

7K at give away prices would be a disgrace. The arrival of Coyle just shows we have no ambition.

If we signed Ronaldo it may put another 500 on the sales.

He'd fit right in now on a 3 year contract...........the Brazilian version I mean.

I think the Lambert appointment was the final chance they had. It was the first time since they bought the club that they had made an ambitious and logical managerial appointment that 90%+ of Rovers supporters agreed with and supported. It was the first time since they arrived that such a large proportion of the support was united in support of an appointment. It was a logical step. The ship had stabilised under Bowyer, who had done a good job over more than 2 years. They decided they wanted more than mid table/bottom half and efficiently went out and brought in the team to deliver that.

We all hoped that they had finally realised the importance of having a proper, experienced team in place, and that if they provided the right backing that the only way would be up.

And yet in the space of 6 months all that goodwill and positivity around the Lambert appointment had been wiped out.

There's no doubt in my mind that the deterioration in performances and results under Lambert was at least partly because Lambert was sick and fed up of being here, and knew he wasn't going to be staying. He knew after a matter of weeks that this club was destined to fail, and after weeks/months of trying privately and publicly to achieve the change he knew was necessary, he gave up knowing they weren't going to do it and knowing that no manager will be successful here because of it.

Now they've got another 'Mr Positive' to sit in the manager's seat who is grateful for another chance in England after failing miserably in his last 3 jobs. He's not going to complain, argue or set promotion as his target like Lambert did. Venkys are happy because they get no irritation from the manager and can continue whatever process it is they are running here.

I do have a touch of sympathy for the loyal staff at Rovers, along with some of the players, and clearly I want as many people turning up at Ewood as possible, but they are singlehandedly responsible for this situation and they deserve it.

They're getting more desperate now though. I've just received a text message from Rovers reminding me of the deadline next week.

I unsubscribed from emails and they don't have my mobile number. I don't want to receive any offers from them.

Renewed mine and dad's just now. Total figure by the girl at the counter was 'went over 4000 yesterday'.

So 4001 then

I'd have expected more than that Mike, probably 2000 more at least, still time yet though.

presumably you meant under normal terms here Gav

Agree under normal circumstances you would definitely expect more uptake before a deadline - also remember this will be boosted by the knee jerk reaction to claim a 'good seat' for those moved from the family stand

Just to add to the above...

The 10,059 figure for last season does not include half ST's (apologies I don't have those figures).

The previous season (2014/15) the club sold 10,901 full ST's and 481 half ST's, totalling 11,382.

2013/14 - 10,500 full ST's and 387 half ST's, totalling 10,887.

So going off that - we are around 5- 6k short of matching last season - with hardly any inspiring hope coming out from the club do people really think we will sell close to that in 3-4 weeks?

so if they are saying sales are on par with last year - what made the 5-6k renew last year as I can't think of anything to generate that sort of interest and can't see that being achieved this time around?

Well, Rovers fans arn't known for rushing down early for whatever reason. Sales will have picked up over the last few days & it will be interesting to see how many renew by Monday's deadline.

I personally think sales will be down, but at this stage the actual number is meaningless, it's the comparison to this stage last year that is the best indicator and that would suggest theres not much in it. It's now down to those who are yet to renew, if a big chunk

of them always renew at the last minute then sales could finish ok.

I finally relented yesterday. Not to renew a season ticket but Virgin Trains are offering a return from Glasgow to Preston for £12 so I've booked seats on trains for the Norwich and Burton Albion games. I still have to decide whether I will actually purchase match tickets or simply meet my mates and wait in the pub during the game instead.

I'll probably cave in and get Darwen End tickets for the two games.

Curse you Venkys for putting me in a position where I'm even having to deliberate like this!!!

I hope you linked your Nectar points to your Vurgin Trains account. I just bought £300 worth of Champagne for my daoughter's wedding using my points. Maybe Rovers should offer Nectar points on ST's ;-)

There is a very real chance that there will be more away fans than home fans when we play Leeds, Newcastle etc

Will Venkys make an appearance this season?

They'll only get told that our away kit is black and white stripes and the Geordie are all Rovers fans.

How can the club honestly offer the Promotion Pledge with a straight face?

It's like the Lib Dems promising to cut taxes and uni fees, because they know they'll never have to make good on it.

I was told yesterday that "ST sales are doing well and are above last years sale figures".

By someone you trust?

One of my youngest lads mates asked if he could come with me if he bought a season ticket. He's never been before so he would be a new supporter.

It was someone who works at the Club and was following the party line. It may, or may not, be true.
