I still think the best idea is to go to away games only. Youngsters will get more of a liking for the team in a buoyant away atmosphere, than in a doom laden Ewood (sad but true).

Really? Very sad that you think that is what youngsters want. When I was a kid I couldn't wait to go to Ewood. I didn't care who owned the club, all I wanted was to watch matches.

It was the same when I was a youngster. Ewood was buzzing, the atmosphere was great, I came off every match unable to talk because I had lost my voice singing, most of the time the crowd was around 8,000, it didn't matter. Go to Ewood now and it is like a morgue. What I am saying is that youngsters will enjoy the away experience more than the home one. Also you say that,All you wanted, "was to watch matches". I differ from you there as well, All I wanted, was to watch the Rovers win.

......, All I wanted, was to watch the Rovers win.

Goes without saying don't you think? Unfortunately in football, as in lots of other things in life, we can't always win. Kids need to learn that too.

As for the atmosphere, well we are where we are. Only going to away games may in some eyes be seen as a justifiable protest but it doesn't help the cause. If that extends to only taking kids away I do really believe that it deprives them of forming a normal bond with the club that they may wish to support long after the current owners have gone. It also deprives the players on the pitch of the support they need.

theres only one faction to blame for depriving support for the players ....and it ain't any fans fault.

Don't they usually have 2 weeks now where season tickets go off sale whilst they process any seat transfers etc? So I imagine the ticket website will stay the same until then.

I just had a look from my PC (not mobile) and got this.

We're sorry!

Season Tickets not available on mobile devices, please use a desktop or laptop computer or contact the ticket office on 01254 372000.

yes, me the same, its beyond pathetic it really is.

Still, we're closing the town centre shop because people's 'buying habits have changed' and internet purchases are popular these days according to Cheston. Just need to be able to buy them online to do that!

It may also dishearten them that much, that they never form a bond with the club! No one knows.

Just been on again and the same message appears - therefore I can't buy a season ticket online.

Conspiracy theory head says that they are pretending the system is down so people can't go online and see the full scale of the lack of sales for themselves.

Or it's just an internet outage or a website error that needs fixing?

Coincidence that it started the day after the 'claim your seat deadline' ended on 11th July and has now been going on for more than a day and prevents people from seeing how many actual tickets have been sold?

I'm buying the conspiracy theory on this one. There is no way a half decent IT department would not have fixed this asap. This is online sales unavailable for two days which (in a normal club  ) would mean they are losing revenue.

In fact I was looking so I could do a count of how many sold, how sad am I.

As Ben says, the club always removes season tickets from sale for a period whilst they deal with transfer requests. If you think about it, they have to do this, as selling new season tickets would not be fair on existing ST holders who want to move.

Surely a message to that effect could appear on the website. Another example of poor communication it appears.

Spoke to the ticket office yesterday to get another seat for my lad and they confirmed no more sales until transfers sorted out. Prob later this week

That's "seat transfers" not "player transfers"

Brilliant I just spat out my tea until I read your last line :-)

Well I can confirm that they are on with seat transfers - I just had a call offering me the move we wanted.

Should have asked them if they were calling the loons also and asking them for the move most of us want! :brfcsmilie:

Does anyone know how many have been sold? No it isn't sad doing a count, it will be interesting to know.

We're never going to get an accurate figure from the club, especially if, as expected, sales are poor. Its fair enough if people want to count for themselves and see how many have really been sold.

At a normal club a substantial drop in season ticket holders would send alarm bells ringing and bring about change at the club. Here it will just be used as an excuse to cost cut, downsize, reduce spending, close more stands and suit the media agenda of Rovers being unable to compete.
