This is an unbelievable position to take. Empathy for rival fans but none for those who feel driven away from the club we all love. Utterly obtuse.

It's becoming a simpler and simpler choice as each week passes. To move forward again, we must be rid of the 'poor old incompetent' Venkys, even if we are starting over completely. Until then we go backwards every season. You ca only blame your customers so often before they stop buying - even in a tribal monopoly such as a football club. Venkys are all about not losing face. An empty stadium would be humiliating for them. It would make the few hundred protesting on match day have a much louder voice in comparison. They and their business associates could not soon that.

The hardcore happy-clapping superfan MUST be onside for the next protests to work. It's no use people pointing at the Action Group and laying the blame at their members for giving up when they did their bit and rid us of Kean. Even if they started up again, there are still too many who would turn on them in defence of the status quo.

2010/11 - 25,000

2011/12 - 22,551

2012/13 - 14,997

2013/14 - 14,962

2014/15 - 14,912

2015/16 - 14,131

2016/17 - 6,000 home fans signed uphttp://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/blar.htm

I have always thought that it would take thousands to assemble elsewhere for a match be that on a field, town square, anywhere bar ewood at 3pm on a saturday so that a tangible number of how many are staying away because of the venkys could actually be proven one way or the other.

Hundreds together is not a ripple, thousands together would be totally different.

Club would always say at this point fans stay away because we are not a premiership team which is a valid argument unless you can prove otherwise.

Imagine a game where the away support is greater than the home support at ewood, and those supporters are actually assembled at pleasington or witton , that would give the clearest message yet that all is not rosie in the venkys garden

Newcastle and others games will likely see more away than home fans

I liked the idea of a kickabout outside ewood with everyone dressed as clowns

Why does a plea to the fans result in attacks on other supporters? Sarcastic, unnecessary swipes at other season ticket holders?

I can't see how you can defend that! if that's playing devils advocate, then perhaps the definition is different on BRFCS

And yet you advocate Cheston's attacks on those boycotting?

You're the one being obtuse. I didn't say I had no sympathy because i do, but only for those who won't return on principle because of the way the owners run the club. I have none for those who just can't be arsed cos we're not very good anymore. Those 'fans' exist whether you care to admit it or not.

There are a few ways of dressing that up though depending on your motives. There are many fans who will be perceived as if they "can't be arsed" which simply have had all the enjoyment stripped away from the experience at Ewood by Venkys, Why should they bother? Considering the way the 'owners' choose to neglect the club the way they have been.

If you're sure what the solution is, you're probably wrong.

If you're sure what the solution is, you're possibly right.

But those fans exist at practically every club. I'd wager we dropped a lot of those in the years following relegation hence the initial drop in attendances. We've put up with being not very good for a few seasons now but are suddenly about to see attendances take a significant drop again. These are people that have followed the club whilst we have become @#/? but have now had enough.

Of course if we suddenly and miraculously start winning games crowds will increase. They may well be the people we lost in 2012, not the hardcore fans we lost this summer.

It's a massive problem for Rovers and their solution today seems to be to encourage them to come back by telling them that THEY are damaging the club.

You are if you don't turn up. Maybe organise a protest on match day if you want your voice heard?

The fans boycotting are being heard loud and clear blueboy, in the local press, national press, local radio, Chestons office and I guarantee in Pune, they don't need to turn up to be heard, in fact Ewood is the last place they need to be.

So we've established that you don't know what obtuse means, nor the difference between empathy and sympathy.

Aside from that it's not just that we aren't very good, it's the reason and speed with which we aren't very good. We are being taken for mugs by the owners and those afraid to upset the owners for fear of losing their job. People who don't actually care about Blackburn Rovers.

Whichever way you look at it, "the way they run the club" is the cause of all of our problems, and they have shown no real signs that they will ever learn. The one moment they looked like they were might give it a go (bringing in a credible manager with no baggage, who all of the fans could get behind) they quickly went back to "incompetence" and put that mistake right bringing in another manager to divide opinion (with baggage) - and lose yet more fans. Of course, some now claim that Lambert was no good yet point to one of his signings as a key player at Rovers for next season. Wake up, we are being taken the @#/? out of!

Mustard, can point where I said I support his "damage" comment?

You might find a point where I said he is correct in the damage it causes, but you'll also find the rest of the comment with that - rather than just plucking a word out to be angry at.

I don't bother with the LT comments section any more, purely because it's the place for idiots and those who want to be part of a "bestest supporters club". Many of who don't even go, not because of Venkys, not because of the lack of entertainment, not because they can't afford it, but because they are tight. The kind of people who will go if they get a free ticket but wouldn't dream of giving up their time - "£25? No thanks".

That said, this is the kind of idiot we are dealing with...

We've moved on from Beckham, Kean , Crook Anderson, Shebby etc. We're a proper club with supportive owners. #lovevenkys. COYB

Oh and the Don Mackay bloke who thinks Neal needs to get into the 'real world'. Ironic, given the one these types inhabit is an imaginary one where all is well at Ewood, and when they close he doors they'll be the first to say "I didn't think things were that bad" then "Yeah, that Venkys are a bad lot".

"Supportive owners" - @#/? hell!

No suprise many are renewing. We've (us on here) mainly all kept doing that through the chicken saga. Hope we win every game for them. Prices remain competitive and bulk purchase makes sense if your going frequently.

If your not thinking segmentation you are not thinking. From a marketing perspective the loss of repeat business, from those that can afford, whom are invested emotionally and financially, want to spend but won't, for non product and service reasons is pathetic. These are customers parked on your doorstep. It's almost impossible to lose these customers/supporters/investors/stakeholders yet this lot excel. This shower lose real FANS of the business. Youve got to seriously irritate that segment of your base for them to even think about leaving.

It's not just about leaving the PL. Or money. Or quality on offer. Although obviously all apply.

For me it's about honesty, respect, decency, pride, passion, hard work and skill. You see I am one of those parked on the doorstep. I'm hard to shift unless you attack my core values. I'm still hard to shift, but I'm wavering if you keep prodding, lieing and cheating me.

I renewed on the Friday before the claim your own seat deadline more out of hope than expectation of a good season. That said I've been pleasantly surprised with the signings thus far Feeney excepted.

I'll probably stop off the m/b until the season starts. No point getting depressed moaning on a daily basis until there's something new to moan about.

You're pleasantly surprised by the signings so far?!! You ripped Lambert for using the loan market yet Coyle is using that as his main strategy!!

My dad's been going since the mid 50's. My mum since the late 80's (regularly). In their words they won't let the venky's ruin 'somewhere they love going' while they are still mobile enough to get to the ground. Each to their own.

Makes me proud.

Don't give up what you love because of ignorant owners.

Love Rovers, Feck The Rest.

Fair play to you blueboy3333! As a kid watching Rovers through the seventies, I, used to yearn for big crowds coming to support the Rovers but today it's the opposite feeling I get due to what's going and gone on.

Your initial interpretation of my original post was obtuse. You failed to understand that i wasn't showing a lack of 'empathy' for Rovers fans. I misread your empathy as sympathy. I'm aware of the difference. Due to the patronising tone of your opening sentence I didn't bother reading the rest of your post. What a waste of your time.

From the tweets it seems not, but maybe some attended as part of other groups

Bill Taylor was there seems to be the only one who has mentioned it , apart from Rovers trust before the event.

Left fans gps mtg @Rovers with some hope of respect & trust! No snow ball throwers or Venkys out banalities! Our opinions & ideas sought!

Positive & productive mtg #EwoodPark for #BlackburnRovers fans groups @onerovers @RoversTrust @BRFCActionGroup. Can we see trust & respect?

Rovers Trust@RoversTrust Jul 13

A couple of the Trust's committee members are off to Ewood tonight with other supporters groups to meet with the club about some kind of supporters forum ... stay tuned for more info.

Taylor was councillor for Audley. Soon after his knighthood, the 'locals' switched their allegiance and he lost his seat.
