After years and years of PL Sky money and parachute payments, suddenly from 2016/17, season ticket/gate money and commercial income (boxes, corporate entertaining etc) will be critical for Rovers. I don't think the timing could be any possibly worse with, IMV, the club in turmoil, riddled in uncertainty from top to bottom and abysmal results / performances to boot.

I think we are seeing the most wretched and desperate circumstances in the club's history. We have almost been down and out before, however, there was then a collective spirit about the club and an inbred hunger and determination to win through that I don't personally see now.

Sadly, I think we might just be witnessing the beginning of the end.

Whilst venky remain it's like a swing needle with fked written at both ends of its scale

One side is they go, the other side is they remain.

The club is fked either way. It may as well take the pain NOW and get it over with

Might be fair to say the club needs its fans now more then ever

That is indeed true AJW but its this that is the major blocking point for me - because which either way you feel there appears to be no middle ground agreement and is preventing anything actually really being done.

Keeping the loons is not for me and although I understand at respect those that do - I cannot fathom why and vice versa.

For the out camp all the evidence we need has been played out in front of our eyes to some degree for the past 5-6yrs , whilst the expected 'we need them ( they don't have enough respect for me to mention their name/brand) is all very thin hopes and conjecture.

Well I'm not sure what you can do.

There's a lot of huffing and puffing on here - don't mean you Matty, but that's all it is. Yes it's crap, yes it's mind blowing how the owners are running the club, everyone agrees on that, but just coming on here and wanting the owners out without knowing where that will leave us, or even if there will be a Blackburn Rovers FC, doesn't appeal to me.

Probably the best thing to do would be to rescue Jordan Rhodes from Boros bench next season on loan paying a third of his wages. Surely that'll paper over a few cracks and put a smile on a few faces :tu:

Now this is the real crux of the matter den, you say there's a lot 'huffing and puffing', then a suggestion of placing an advert in the Indian press gets mentioned and yourself and The Rovers Trust Exec Officer are scathing of the idea?

You can't have it both ways old bean.

Scathing? Nah. If someone wants to do that, it's up to them. I can't or won't stop them. If someone knows of a way to get the owners talking to both Lambert and the fans, of course I would back it - anyone would. But so far it is a lot of huffing and puffing, because no one is actually doing anything apart from posting on this thread. Didn't you also say that you agreed with me, that at the moment it's wiser to wait and see what response Lambert gets from Venkys first?

As for this advert, how's it coming on and what will it say?

Comparing a house to a Premier League football club isn't really the best analogy though. If I inherited a house and unknowingly sold it to a brothel owner nobody outside my family/neighbours would be in the slightest bit interested or bothered what happened after I left. I wouldn't feel responsible to the town/community because one house will cause minimal damage, although if it had been my parents house and they had invested in it and loved it and asked me to look after it responsibly then I would be ashamed if it ended up as a brothel.

If I inherited a football club that my father had dedicated the latter years of his life to revolutionising with his money, who had then gone to great trouble to ensure was protected financially and legally beyond his death and had asked me to look after it, and I had accepted that responsibility knowing what it involved and knowing how important the club was to tens of thousands of supporters and customers and to the image of the entire town as a whole, then unless I was in dire straits health wise or financially myself then I would have been very selective.

I don't expect an apology anymore. Its clear there isn't going to be one which I think sums those people up in they care so little for what has happened after their decision making they can't even be bothered to produce a paragraph to put in the paper. I think I would have been man enough to hold my hands up, admit I got it wrong, and apologise to the supporters of the club who are suffering because of it.

None of the fans had a legal duty to look after the club and none of the fans managed a business empire worth hundreds of millions of pounds.

They wouldn't try to help if there were a bunch of kids trapped in a burning building right in front of them. Selfish people who don't care about anyone but themselves let alone their own relative who left them millions.

The point being you can't criticise people for not actually doing anything when you pour cold water on any ideas put forward.

I'm not criticising anyone for not doing anything Gav. Im pointing out that no one has done anything, because at the moment there isn't really anything that would get much backing. Lambert walks and maybe it changes.

It's good to see the old pessimistic MM never really went away! ☺

Watch it, you won't like den when he's angry!

Of course you would Gav. How couldn't you? :)

Fair to say me n Gav have had the odd sparr on here, but it's only because we're so involved with the football club. It's absolutely nothing personal and Im sure he knows that.
