Long thought that the LT should be doing a lot more. Here's a post from regrover in the LT comments section in response to a comment that Venkys wouldn't speak to the LT.........

"They would have to speak to the Liverpool Echo, if say, they owned Liverpool or Everton. The Echo would not take no for an answer, they would camp on their door step, they would delve into every aspect of their lives , and motives for owning the club. They would scrutinise the accounts. They would expose Andersons dealings. They would reveal Venky's inept ownership. In other words, they would make their lives a complete misery. The Liverpool Echo have fried bigger fish than Venky's. The South Yorkshire Police Force, H.M Government of the UK, Our justice system, The Sun Newspaper, Rupert Murdoch, BBC, The entire establishment, all to get at the truth over Hillsborough. Not to mention Hick and Gillette, the useless owners of Liverpool.

Exposing Venky's would be no problem to the Echo.

But of course they are a proper regional newspaper, with proper journalist. The LT, by comparison are useless. The LT have let the people of Blackburn down. With a proper, strong press, the situation at Rovers would be no where as bad as it is. I have had dealings with LT Editor Kevin Young, he is spineless and useless."

I can't imagine the sponsors DAFABET would be too thrilled with that...and neither would other gambling companies. Of course its a protest against the owners but still why would the players put themselves forward for all kinds of fines, etc from the Football League? Also isn't it generally the case that its up to the fans to make a protest?

Of course the level of performance could be a factor as well.

Good luck with that. Couldn't even get a response from Wheelock after asking for last weeks nonsense to be placed firmly on the front page.

Sponsors want exposure for their brand... and the old saying that there is no such thing as bad publicity might well work in this case.

Anyway, the point is that continuing to play as if there is nothing rotten throughout the rest of the club is a further insult to the fans. At least by demonstrating on the pitch that there are issues off it, the players and management could express some kind of solidarity with the man in the street.

Just to point out by the way... in such a situation the bookies would refund/void all bets.

There's no way in hell. Unless the players were being hit in the pocket.

What you need is clear targets visible but there aren't many...that's where you need to look closer and perhaps get to the Coar of the problem.

Thats harsh Pafell.

The owners have totally cut the supporters adrift. How long ace we supposed to put with it?

When Venkys leave, the supporters will return.

What I meant was, empty seats could be playing into venkys hands, if they want a reason to wind the club up and take its assets.

Ridiculous argument. The club only cost £20m. The debt is £100m and Ewood Park is an ACV thanks to Paul. There's nowt to liquidate. Go and pour yourself another pint!

Good find den, I actually stopped buying it due to Cryers complete surrender to the club under king rat and his lap dog program editor Paul Agnew.

Villa are all over the local regional paper with real journalists asking real questions of the owners, players and directors. The local news has Villa on most days in some form, ok they're the biggest club in the area, but they're taking no prisoners and doing the club no favors, just reporting whats going on at the club, being journalists!

The Telegraph seems more interested in filling up its time posting old pictures of closed down pubs, night clubs and pictures of school classes from the 80's

Only bit of sense RegRover has ever come out with. Usually he spouts utter drivel.

That's drivel too.

The Echo has five times the circulation as the LET, therefore far greater resources. The LET is run on a shoestring.

It's a nice dream, and would indeed make headlines, but such players and manager might never work again.

You know what else. A heck of a lot of Rovers fans would blame LAMBERT and the PLAYERS if that happened.

Doubt it Stu, sadly we'd probably be struggling to notice any difference from a "normal" performance at home.

Cute idea though if unworkable in practice.

I also liked the idea of the fans turning up on the hill with gardening implements on "gardening leave". Everyone would probably get arrested for possession of an offensive weapon but heyho.

Can't help but think that those scenes/banners will be seen at Ewood again in the not too distant future. By that stage, 3000 fans will represent half of our fanbase so are unlikely to protest in such numbers.

What's 1% of 7000? :(

Not doubting the motives of the Blackpool fans, but playing devil's advocate, the more they protest the more it eems to antagonise Karl Oyston. It said on Talksport last night he has described himself as "a one man revenge mission" intent on taking the Club into the conference.

We think we've got problems but blimey.......

How about an alternative to the lets not go to Ewood suggestions?

Why don't we pack the god damned place out to the rafters? Bring back all our long lost fans, mates and more mates and show these clueless dickheads just what they could have had if they had not been such amateurs ? More fans in the ground means a much louder and prouder protest and will no doubt have a better effect than say 10000 fans.

Just a suggestion the message would be loud and very clear. Decked in flags, banners and blue and white send the right message to the owners.

Just a thought....

Wonderful post... it'd need to be a tv game , ala the Bolton game, for full affect.

Would be something to behold.

If only we could rely on people to turn up.
