Karma?

Its says so much about the 'Fit and proper person test' when Owen Oyston is allowed to own a football club

A campaign with regards the fit an proper owners test is long over due.

Time and time again the fit and proper owners test has been proved to be not fit for purpose.

There won't be anything for two reasons.

1) Thousands of angry/bored Rovers fans will just simply not go to the game.

2) Anybody that tries to get any anti- Venky chant going will be rounded upon by his fellow fans.

There's a certain morbid curiosity about tomorrow's match.

How low can the crowd be?

What reaction will Lambert get?

What reaction will Venkys get?

Will there be any life in the crowd?

What if Reading get an early goal?

It's all quite surreal. I can't recall a manager ever leaving a club in this way. Working his notice but leaving under a cloud.

No end of season celebration.

No good feeling about next season.

No incoming manager being announced.

Virtually every player on display won't be here next season. Coaches may be gone.

It's going to be like watching someone die. :(

Christ Stu, it's been depressing the last few years but reading that is quite terrifying.

Terrifying is the word. The sensible ones are those that will be staying away.

My lad's first match was the 3-3 draw at home to Reading 9 years ago on the last day of the season. He has seen a lot and had a lot of miserable times at Ewood since that day. I wonder if tomorrow's home match against Reading will be his last. Book-ending a dreadful journey from European hopefuls to a club with relegation-avoidance aspirations. He is pretty pragmatic about it all but football should be a fun and enjoyable departure from work life and school life. This just isn't. There are fans of teams trying to get into League 2 (from below) who enjoy going to matches more than us.

Does that mean we can blame your son as well as Venkys for our demise Stuart? lol :)

He had a couple of good years. I just feel really sad that the Walker Trust sold his generation and maybe even the next down the river. Whether they meant to or not. It certainly appears that none of them had a proper conversation with the philanthropists to make sure that (i) they knew what they were getting into and (ii) they were the right custodians for their father's legacy. That bloke who handed them the fortunes that they now dine out on.

Yeah my family where friends with Jack and his daughter or daughter in law.. can't remember which these days, not much good was said of the rest of the family though, certainly none of the family actually gave a monkeys for Rovers, in fact it would not surprise me if they sold us the way they did out of spite. Just look at what they did with his airline as well, sold the controlling interest within months of selling Rovers.

It's hard to explain to the little 'uns, even football fans (of other clubs) in general.

The little things (aside from the blindingly obvious ones!) just don't seem to be comprehended. You feel like you're slowly going mad, paranoid and a conspiracist.

I'm hardly a prolific poster (No Rhodes jokes!!) but cannot bring myself to reply or type endless rants which make no sense - like this one.

Venksters took over a month after my daughter was born and the decision to not go was made easier by my situation, finance, time etc. I went against Wolves when he who shall not be named engineered his escape and thought "This'll get better, surely"

Wrong.

We limped and pathetically ambled along, lurching from one bad decision to another, caretaker, temporary manager, back to a caretaker, Bowyer did a reasonable job let's be fair, but even he knew he wasn't up to it and had to be - rightly - removed from his post.

Then Lambert was rumoured to be taking over, a manager, a real one!! I was overjoyed, delighted, little bit relieved.

But, alas, the V's delusional arrogance took over once more and wouldn't speak to him, approve his budget request, or record his voicemail message or whatever ridiculous thing he asked for. Oh, money to improve a squad that has been pillaged of quality. Compare lineups from Nov 10 and tomorrow - honestly you'll laugh, eventually...

Now where are we? One game left, finance guy only one left from the suits and careering towards yet another @#/? summer of silence because it's Indian Pancake Day or summat.

@#/? charlatans I hope they get anal silver poisoning from the spoons that have been shoved up their ass since daddy left them his empire.

But hey that's me, I won't be going tomorrow, went twice this season as my mum "promised" to take me as part of my 30th - cheers mum - funnily enough we won both - Brum and Boro. I won't be going again til those @#/? imbeciles do the one thing that would unite the fanbase once and for all.

@#/? off and take your pride debt with you.

Apologies for anyone who has to read that, feel better.

Ish.

I discovered this week that plenty of schoolkids on Facebook are totally brainwashed into thinking that Rovers under Venky's is a way of life. A generation believing that this is the way a football club is normally run. Quite a few adults think it's normal too

We talk about Venky's spoilt rich kids but most of this Walker lot are worse, only ever interested in themselves and probably jealous of each other if one has a bit more benefit from the trust than the other. Heard something years ago about one or two of thems billy big time antics from a guy who moved in the same circles and they just sounded arrogant herberts.

If Jack could come back now he'd probably fling half of them out with nothing I know I would. Even when he was getting on that Walkertrust was still growing at a fair old rate and they were set to be billionaires. Look at it now worth around half what it was set to be, yes I know there was the hard times but there has been a bit of a boom again since then but they won't give a fig, just living the high rolling that Jack Freds graft gave them. Tossers.

Good idea (but too late, unfortunately).

Same idea I posted originally (on this thread and hmm how many years ago when Venkys first let us know how bad they where lol :) Still the chicken in a scarf is still remembered fondly by fans not just of our club (those where nothing to do with me).. if you want to get a protest noticed, banners and boos will only get you so far (we do not have the fan base of Newcastle just in numbers terms) and with our owners in India they wont even hear about them, been involved in enough marketing campaigns to know how that crap works.

I do not think now is the right time anyway, IMO it is end of season, to much else going on and media to hot on the trail of other things (Leicester, promotions, relegation's etc etc).. kick off on day one of a new season if there is a club left by then, plan properly and do something meaningful, lasting (Internet trending crap does not last forever but it is often remembered) and do it well thought out.

No pitch invasions, no walkouts, no booing the players, nothing untoward.. basically nothing other fans can get angry about.

Rubber chickens, balloons, bog roll etc wont offend the masses, are physically harmless but will cause disruption and have the distinct possibility of starting trends (though sadly probably a proper Rovers fan will have to tidy up after)

To do it right:

1 - Separate webpage (just a four page plan and intro), facebook page, google+ page, twitter account etc..

2 - Printed leaflets if possible distributed around town

3 - All fan groups consulted and hopefully together

4 - A defined target (e.g. to make Venkys lose face)

5 - A media plan, speak to the reporters from papers with one voice

6 - Something like clean graffiti prior to the match (legal, literally clean and can not be stopped) announcing protest

7 - A backup plan.. it is perfectly legal to launch rubber chickens at a football ground with a trebuchet or drop them from a plane if you can get permission to fly over

8 - Chose a day to hurt them.. FA cup match, first game of season, a visit from their adviser/them, a cheap discounted match..

9 - Distribution and stock control to make sure people don't feel left out on the day

10 - A face to put to the protests is a good idea, known by the fanbase if possible (Matt Smith is mad enough, probably would want the media coverage and a Rovers fan)

NB and no I don't work in the rubber chicken business..

Bang on Stuart. It is quite surreal, a Rovers "team" managed by someone who doesn't want to be there consisting of players the vast majority of whom won't be there next season. To be honest I don't think the fare on the pitch will be much different to what we've seen recently, I think the penny dropped with the players a while ago the manager wasn't committed to the Club and what we've seen on the pitch has been little more than a charade of going through the motions.

So as you say the only real interest tomorrow is to see how awful the match day experience can actually sink with protests etc. For me the game has huge significance just in case it's the last fixture we ever fulfil at Ewood Park. Even then I'll only be there if I'm up in time and won't treat it as a biggy if I'm not.

Such are the times we're in unfortunately.
