It's currently taking less than 250 tweets to have a hashtag trend nationally on Twitter. Therefore if we can get 350 tweets of #VenkysOut on Twitter we should see it trending.

Undoubtably there will be no interest in this.

i do it all the time...when we on it ?

250 tweets needed over an 11 minute period at the moment. Can't remember there ever being a better time other than early hours of the morning.

14 individual #VenkysOut tweets in the past 11 minutes. 1/20th of the way there during that period.

Would need lots more.

This is one of the things trending in Pune at the moment #BabyKoBassPasandHai now if that hash tag was tweeted with a venky's out image or similar :)

Made it on to the map showing VenkysOut is being tweeted about in the North West area. Still way too periodic to trend nationally.

Edit; all seem a bit spur of the moment, might be worth having something pre-planned (with a few links to some of their bad press)

and have more concerted effort?

Whilst Andy has a good point above about spontaneous, pre planned and be seen by Indian twitter users linking to articles (mentioned in the above post) is probably the way to go in taking it to their own backyard.

A time that could have maximum impact in India (8/9pm , UK 2.30/3.30pm)** tweets featuring a hash tag that is trending in Pune + #venkysOut + a link to one of the many articles on their reign of terror?

Now if enough numbers could do it , a sustained week long event linking to a different article everyday could be fun

p.s Good effort JB , lots of Venkysout tweets and still rolling

usually the best protest is the spontaneous one - pre plan it and it become bogged down in all sorts of stuff. Just go for it...

I wasn't trying to get anything too pre-planned, but it's gonna be much easier to get something trending if we all tweet roughly at the same time.

Yes retweets count.

Agree re planning it. We had a lot of RTs tonight but we where missing constant new individual tweets of VenkysOut.

If we plan it and tell people we should be able to do it even at a low peak time.

Scratch that. We are now trending. Number 17. 7 more to go on the top page.

Now number 15.

#VenkysOut is now top 6 trends on Twitter in the UK. Now attracting tweets nationally from other football fans.

Edit Now the 4th most tweeted thing in the UK.

Same. Is it localised somehow?

Top trending is some rubbish about a pop video (I assume) with 105k tweets.
