[Archived] Protest Ideas...

Recommended Posts

Not at all, i'd be intrigued as to what made you and when you became a fan though? As to date you continually look to wind people up on here. I'm still working out your agenda.

I'd have thought being based in Pune itself that you'd have been far more constructive to the protest thread especially in view of any contacts or media outlets in which several threads on the MB are targeting etc.

I won't judge your post where it looks like your having a conversation with yourself.

Ofcourse I have posted ideas. And they are as good or bad as anybody elses. Nothing to wind up. I know exactly what it will take for the Venky's to go and I have mentioned it quite clearly. If you do not like that, hey i am not forcing you to accept them. Let each one do what they believe is the best way.

Agreed. Empty seats can be misrepresented they say. So wtf will their PR do with a 25k and above crowd?

:?

The idea of filling the ground and then emptying it (as a protest) relies on the idea that Venkys as actually interested and just need convincing.

This is where some fans still are in their thinking.

Others believe that Venkys don't care so it's a futile exercise. But if it kicks over another barrier to fan unity then it's a good thing.

It's the same argument as the expectations from last Thursday. Fans are at different stages.

1) They aren't listening I'm done / gone.

2) Enough is enough - they've reached their own final straw and want action.

3) I'm prepared to protest to try one last time to convince them to spend the money to save Rovers falling further.

4) I'll never protest, I only care about the 11 players in blue and white. If one day I wake up and the club is no more I'll worry about it then (it's hard not to become frustrated at these people because they keep saying they care the most).

Group 2) is growing - hastened by Coyle's failure. But group 3) is also an important step as it gets people out of group 4).

Is there a law written anywhere that BRFC supports have to have visited Ewood ? Or need to have a season ticket? Or need to attend every game? Its kinda becoming fashionable to target people who attend. Which is why I posted that. Do you need to jump in a well to know how it feels? No right. Similarly I have a fair idea what Ewood feels like.

If you know what it feels like, why are you not offering your assistance in removing the cancer or at least getting them out of their bunker?

Trust me, you haven't a bloody clue what it feels like. Rovers IS Blackburn and been part of many families' heritage for in excess of 100 years. To use your analogy and your perceived location, tempt the Raos to jump in your well, cap it and ask them how it feels!

For the record, I personally fully understand Parson and respect his viewpoint.

If you've nothing to offer just feck off.

Yes agree with that Stuart, but you'll always get fans that feel supporting the side is the only way to go, negativity in the ground/protests will always divide opinion.

I don't disagree with either side of the argument, but I do see the bigger picture, and the playing side is a side show at until Venkys are gone.

Come on Abbey lets not hammer people for taking a different stance.

I can guarantee more will not protest than will protest, but each to their own, the focus now should be Venkys, not our own fans.

We've had to much infighting between fans, its really important we try to get away from that now.

we need to stand united whether your stance is attend the game or stand outside the ground. its not about other people not protesting and others are.

its about getting new owners for Blackburn Rovers football club and the fanbase need to united or the best it can. after reading Glen Mullan blog from today this was a major problem 5 years ago that's fans were in fighting and arguing. this can not happen now

Glen Mullan's blogs are very good and must read for everybody who is a Blackburn Rovers fan.

No problem answering that Abbey. I'll be doing what I always do - supporting the players on the pitch from the first minute to the last.

I will always support the players on the field whilst wanting new ownership

Firstly, I believe that it is crucial to keep the club in the Championship this season if we are to attact the right buyer if Venky's ever leave. Hence why I will support the players on the pitch for 90 minutes. Secondly, I believe that any pressure that is put on Venky's will have to be done via the Indian media. Having said that, the various Charity work which has been reported that they do in Pune - in terms of feeding the poor and providing healthcare for those less fortunate - may well prove difficult to counter. I suspect the ordinary Indian citizen of that city has far more to worry about than a football club they are unlikely to have heard of on the other side of the world.

I agree we have to be in the championship to attract a good buyer.

I also said we need to put pressure on in India to force a sale.

Yes speaking to him daily and just a few hours ago, it is all systems go

good that we have got the best Sport Journalists on side in Oliver Kay, Henry Winter and Andy Dunn in our favour. add creditability to our campaign

He also retweeted (kind of 'commented on', if you don't do twitter) the Times article in our favour.

he backed us from day 1

Actually it's fashionable for the owners not to attend, lead from the top

Please read though my posts aka use the search feature. I have written quite clearly how to get rid. Most people are protesting in their own way. I have liked some ideas put in here by other people in here as well such as aggyblues buying of shares etc or a completely empty ewood etc. Whether it can be implemented or not is a completely different story. I mean frankly how many in here realistically think there can be a completely empty ewood park on a match day.

how is being a dick working out for ya

As effective as you being one. Thank you. Oh and sorry for taking your punchline

Update on article in india, its now gone for proof reading and will be published during the night.

Hot on the Halsey admission today, I think this story may just get tongues wagging and a bead of sweat running as the net closes.

The Rao Family have big decisions to make, as this is going to be relentless. Thankfully enough people are helping around me, to get lots of things moving as I still await an answer from Thursdays meeting regarding helping the Top table

Havent we been hearing that since the last 4 5 years? Everyone wants them out. No doubt about that. But we are entitled to our ideas as to what it will take to get them out. Simple. No rocket science here.

What's your plan ?.............................................................

We seem to be agreeing but yet not.

Parson and chaddy (potentially - as he hasn't said either way yet but usually takes his cue from Parson) are part of a group of fans that a protest movement will struggle to reach. These are the people you will see in the stands at the end of the Wolves match.

If they can be convinced then so can the rest. That was my point.

Stuart, I haven't read this thread for a few days tbh so that's why I haven't replied to any posts. unless you are ignored and I wont be replying to those.

I am currently undecided and that's the honest truth, if you don't wish to believe than that's is your choice and I will expect personal abuse from certain posters cant I wont commit to their view points.

But I will be taking a much greater interest in this thread as I fear that we need new ownership as soon as possible. I would like to see the Rovers supporters have shares in the football club like Swansea or the Germany clubs/model.

Frankly, your proposals are delusional, unrealistic and could have been thought of by any lunatic:

Correct me if I'm wrong but was it not reimburse them for both their initial investment and what they've allegedly spunked in 6 years to date, I.e. in the region of £135 million?

You were quite savvy in your references to Venkys market value and capitalization figure: use a similar formula and apply it to BRFC trading figures and current net asset value and what would the worth be?

As I said earlier, if you can't come up with anything constructive, please do one.

Not a pop this Chaddy but you are right the fans need unity. Therefore when a law abiding protest is arranged for a cause which you strongly believe in, I can't understand why fans wouldn't foresake 30 minutes of football. Makes no sense to me. Even though I doubt the effectiveness of the 18/75 protest, we must stand together on everything if we are to enforce change.

LIke i said fair dos. It might be delusional from your point of view. Similar many ppl think that not attending is a delusional idea. Some think attending is a delusional idea. Some think not paying a dime is a delusional idea. Some think not supporting the club is a delusional idea. I am not saying you dont have the right to call it delusional. To be fair, you do. But then others have rights to call ideas that they dont think will work, delusional as well.

Was that really your idea, as Darren described?!?

The club is practically worthless. The first team squad cost £2m. Gate receipts per annum are circa £2.5m. The only way the club was going to be worth anything would be if it's in the Premier League. Fat chance of that.

Tell you what, I'll get you your £135m, from the magic pixies who live at the bottom of my garden.

Then again I might be deluded - but only as deluded as you and those clowns who own this club and live in your town.

So I was right then, £135 million was your only solution?

Enough said.

Ok forget the money part. Can you get everyone to not attend? I am sure you dont think that is delusional as well? Is it?

Havent I already said I'm undecided cos I want my team to win but I want new owners asap.

I just hope that Good business people out there would be interested in buying Rovers. I think Glen in his blog said they are people interested in buying Rovers.
