I did send an email suggesting a major European club at home (already made that argument on here including finance) and that playing local sides was a complete waste of time.

Suppose it wouldn't have made a difference pre-Venkys either.

As for Germany I guess Bayern are keeping their schedule top secret.

On a serious note, I think the days of Barca and co. are long gone. Even the likes Everton and Stoke were replaced last year by Wigan !

Leicester and Bournemouth both arranged pre-season games against Real Madrid whilst in the Championship, so there's no reason we couldn't if we really wanted to.

The difference being both those clubs have ambitious owners who want to grow their clubs at home and abroad and are prepared to pay the going rate to do it.
