Well there is such a thing as global news Chaddy. Distinctly possible that an empty Ewood would attract rather more attention than a one third full one.

Reporters might pop up at an IPL game and ask Venkys for comment? Indian media might report it strongly?

I think they would hear about it and get the message.

What they would do about it I don't know but I'd like to find out.

The Indian media are in their back pocket because they've got @#/? loads of money. Any investigative journalist that's brave enough to ask the question will be quickly removed by armed guards.

Absolutely nothing will come through the media and there won't be any advertising space for sale either. It's like trying to buy paper space over here to talk negatively about Murdoch.

There would never be a total boycott people like birdy and john pittard will always go.I reckon if the gates got to a 1000 that will be as near as a total boycott we could ever get.

I personally hope venkys disappear but I think a boycott is more than likely.

It isn't the same as trying to buy space to hammer Murdoch, he owns the papers, Venkys own chicken farms. If the message is factualy correct and not inflamatry it'll get published.

Kamy has already provided a journalist contact in India that's criticised the families disastrous tenure here at Ewood in the Indian press, so what you're saying isn't exactly true, but I'm sure not all media outlets would be so accommodating as you point out.

I agree with you. I know quite a number who never miss any games and probably wouldn't do in any circumstances. It is very much an individual thing. There are also people who go to home games only who haven't got a clue what is happening off the field and probably have no desire to know.

As I wrote in the Protest Ideas thread..

Personally I would like the players and outgoing manager to acknowledge the desperate situation faced by the club and created by completely disconnected / disinterested owners, by allowing Reading to score absolutely at will on Saturday. Surely if an opposing team was able to rack up a ridiculous 'cricket score' against us that would draw some attention and show the players / managers solidarity with us. Also, if PL would drop some heavy hints in any press conferences that something significant was likely to happen on Saturday, then perhaps even those die-hard / obtuse individuals who can't see beyond the end of their blue & white noses to the bigger picture would be able to accept that EVERYONE in this club (supporters, workers, players, UK directors, suppliers) are the victims of an unbelievably incompetent and disengaged ownership.

Come on PLAYERS and MANAGER - TIME TO SHOW YOU ARE ON THE SAME SIDE AS US...

Really? Go ask Glen P who gave a respectable interview to an Indian paper about Venkys, only to have a completely different piece put up talking about their successes and how everybody loves them. Money buys power over all media - they've got a @#/? load of money in a country where most journalists are paid peanuts.

It was just bizarre that incident (and one I had admittedly forgot about) the quotes they attributed to him were phrased in such a way that would make it impossible for any Englishman to come out with. Plus I heard what he actually said.

One person did give a daft interview which rightly got criticism but it wasn't Glenn.

Incidentally I also gave some choice quotes then the journalist walked away and was intercepted by someone who shall remain a nameless self preservationist PA type guy who then took the pad and crossed out everything I had said.

What is this - the school playground? I can't imagine a journalist with a set giving up any material voluntarily to some jumped up pseudo-fascist looking to censor free speech. Just doesn't add up. Any journalist worth the air they breathe would be all over that like a rash in a place of ill repute...sniff a story out...STINKS!

India isn't a western country where everybody has rights. I'm all for a protest but trying to get something in the media over there is impossible and is frankly wasting everybodies time.

I maybe wrong J*B but I believe said interview was part of the fans forum trip bought and paid for by Venkys. If it wasn't on the trip, it was linked, so around 5yrs ago and irrelevant today with respect.

I see your point J*B, I just don't think, in fact I know, it's not an impossible task to get an anti Venkys advert in the Indian press.

FIRSTPOST is an Indian media outlet that has criticised Venkys many times.

This is the article that Binoy did previously: http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2012-01-22/news/30651031_1_blackburn-rovers-anuradha-desai-jack-walker-trust

I am also led to believe that a different Indian journo is working on something and it is likely to hit within the next 7 to 10 days, he has approached a number of people to get some background information about the mismanagement of the club and to get viewpoints of fans on what they feel about Venky's. So there is lots happening in India at the moment.

With the help of perthblue I have managed to identify all of the major Venky's shareholders, I am writing to them to tell them about they told damage that the Venky's family have done to Venky's brand in the uk, pointing out that the fried chicken market is worth billions in the uk and it is a market that Venky's through Venky's express have never been able to enter due to the damage done to Venky's brand by their mismanagement of Blackburn rovers therefore potentially costing them hundreds of millions. The hope is that we can exploit the tensions between the family and major shareholders to exert some internal pressure on the family.

Thanks for that Kamy, I'm sick of reading we can't do this and we can't do that.....

The shareholders idea is a very good one, its another avenue into Venkyville, good effort, make them uncomfortable, its the way forward.

Plenty is going on away from this site, which gives me some hope :tu:

Considering the nature of Venkys they probably do have friends in high places. Then again they almost certainly have a lot of enemies as well considering the manner in which they conduct their business. Somehow I can imagine its not just Rovers fans they have @#/? off. Balaji is known to carry round a gun though that may be quite common for wealthy people in a country such as India. Then again hopefully there's some people in the Pune underworld who aren't really a personal fan of Mr Rao. Of course "madame" probably wouldn't carry a gun around (that's for lowly bodyguards she wouldn't dirty her hands on such an instrument) and perhaps nobody really gives a toss about third wheel. Still there have been suggestions that Balaji isn't whiter than (Barry) white. You never know we might get lucky and have the job done for us through completely unrelated circumstances. Not just my thoughts by the way had a conversation with another member along the same lines.

You did say other week Kamy that their shareholders only cared (about the negative publicity) while the club was in the Premier League. Any significant reason this view has changed or you think its worth a go regardless? Certainly I see total logic behind it.

Great idea, the shareholders things.

Perhaps if we all write emails that would help?

Am game if there's a genuine chance of it working - and shareholders are the first thing I've heard of that would hit Venkys where it hurts.

Lovely idea this - though it risks the club getting a big fine from the authorities for bringing the game into disrepute. I'm not sure Reading would be happy about it too. Worth a try though - and it would certainly grab the attention of the international media. 50-0 would be a good scoreline.

There's a good piece by Rod Liddle in the Sunday Times praising Neil Warnock for the job he's done at Rotherham and the lower league managers in general - Chris Wilder at Northampton in particular. I don't like Warnock but as firefighting manager at clubs in difficulties he'd certainly be a good man for us in our present situation. If we could get him we'd be more or less certain to stay up next season.

I'd say leave shareholders to Kamy for now, bombarding people with email and letters tends to reduce the impact and message.

Have the Rovers Trust issued a statement regarding the fascicle goings on at Ewood last week? I know BRAG has?

Not a statement as such but an opinion piece via their website.

BRAG's site is still down by the way. Could be all kinds of issues other than the "conspiracy theory" I initially suggested (such as extra traffic to the site in past week) though their twitter account hasn't explained the 48 hour (and counting) "blackout".

Agreed. I feel a bit like I did, when Ince got potted. Then I had begun to feel Big Sam was the only man for the job.Twelve months earlier, I would have been very disappointed.

I am getting to the point, where I feel Colin is the only man for Rovers in this situation......and I cannot believe I have written that!
