See, it can happen. It will happen if we can overthrow the Venky's. They're like Tsar Nicholas II, in that they believe they should be autocrats and yet are devoid of any drive, vision and ability to be one. They refuse to reform their methods, isolate themselves and dismiss staff on a whim. Russia suffered under such inept, aloof rule and so is Blackburn.

Spark if you cannot see why the venkys continue to be the worst thing to happen to rovers in the clubs history you are too far gone.

On this Pune trip you were clearly won over by a few onion bhajis but thankfully it would seem when it comes to actually wanting what's best for rovers and the town the majority won't be bought over by a few spicy volovants. Hope they were tasty and you filled your boots because you've sold your soul very cheaply to the people destroying brfc (if they've not already destroyed it beyond repair).

One day I'm sure you'll see the error of your ways and throw away the I love balaji tshirt and replace it with a more accurate balaji rao club killer one.

I'm just glad you're not part of a group who claim to represent the fans to the club. Oh wait.

Leicesters owners seemed to do a Jack Walker style rescue then revolution for them. Meanwhile ours proved the complete antidote to that and continue to do so.

Rovers were destined for the third tier when Jack stepped in so Venkys complete reversal looks like being concluded by next May.

Spark ... You never did get back to me in this ...was you the one who bottled it in Pune when you met your heroes ?

And as for cracking on you stood with me at column Five , well I can hand on heart say I've never heard it referred to column five . Blimy back in them days I couldn't count the columns I was lucky to get in after hours of the bods . Please don't crack on like I'm a long lost friend I really have no idea who you are and if I did know you back then well I must of been seriously in a alcoholic stupor as I have no time for trolls and Venky lovers .

Did you bottle it?

The tremblers were so wrong when we predicted that this was happening.

Ewood Spark

Presumably you are some minor club apparatchik dependent on the status quo to pay the mortgage. There will be no barricades –apathy will ensure a slow painful death in which the end will be the same, by which time presumably you will have taken your pension. Your post listing the qualities of the Raos (irrespective of its veracity) is risible and I’ve wasted too much time responding.

With all due respect Ewood Spark, I'm interested to know what evidence you have that leads you to think that the owners have opted for 4. Reading Cheston's interview I can only believe that option 5 is what they've gone for.

I have never said that the owners have opted for 4. This thread was all about listing the possible futures and discussing how they could be achieved. Option 3. Is the scary one ... the total liquidation of the club ... but it seems, judging by the nihilistic attitudes of some posters on this board, they arn't overly bothered if that is the route that is followed. My view is that 4. is the most realistic path to chase ... sure, if a 21st version of Jack Walker came riding through on a white stallion and bought the club that would be the best path ... but I have been given no reason to think this is remotely possible.

You conveniently and smugly lump everyone who disagrees with you into 3.

But liquidation and administration need separating as they are different possible futures.

I'm sure your philanthropic friends wouldn't dream of liquidating so I'm not sure what your problem with 3 really is.

Credit where it is due ... this reply made me laugh. The problem with having someone on ignore is you occasionally see the shadow of their posts through others replies ... I would usually ignore those as your post amused me ...

Abbey well knows what I was referring to as Column 5 in the Old Blackburn End. He and his mates used to stand in that vicinity and sing about the relative merits of the two drinking establishments in Abbey Village ... my memory isn't what it was, but I think it was the Vic and the Hare and Hounds. They would split into two groups based on their loyalties. Our group would join in, because that's the kind of thing you did as a teenager. And they would join in our stupid songs about tortoises and buns. This has got me thinking about how much I miss the old Blackburn End.

Only one way to find out, stick a Keenan's sign on top of the JW stand. Then let's have a look at what is possible. In the meantime.... the situation is just hopeless. I look forward to the miracle worker Cheston spinning multiple plates in a whole variety of roles - the like of which would make Alan Sugar cream himself on The Apprentice* as Rovers effortlessly stay up next season.

Mate of mine summed it all up today. Second sentence upon seeing him. "We're fecked, there's no football people left down there".

* someone please post a Kenneth Williams at this point

He thinks we need another Jack Walker. Not at all, we just need people who care about the club and are prepared to fight for it. Club's go into administration regularly and they are kept alive by people who care. We already have rich owners but they don't care or can't/won't run the club properly.

Worse still, ES can't see the contradiction in his posts. If Venkys really care about the club, they would not liquidate but would hand it over to the RoversTrust - who would be supported by those interested parties in waiting. If they don't care about the club then they are the wrong people to be in charge and it's only a matter of time.

Sure, we are going to end up in League One, maybe lower, due to the points deductions and likely playing staff quality but I for one would be ok with that if it meant we were being run by interested, competent, (ideally but not essentialLT) local people who are only interested in Rovers' success and not their pride (or some other cobblers).

Athlete .... I really think you need to look for a new hobby to fill your Saturday afternoons ..... running round a track or throwing a hammer or two perhaps? .... as for Abbey's response ... his memory is obviously more frazzled than mine!

I was at Stamford Bridge the other week watching the U21's in the Youth Cup semi-final... yes we got beat ... but we competed. The other semi-final was Man Citeh v Arsenal. Clearly not everything is going wrong at the club.

Competed ? They were three nil down after the first twenty minutes !

True ... Chelsea attacked with pace, but a far more resilient Rovers emerged in the second half and could have had a second. It should be remembered though that the Chelsea youngsters are on professional contracts from age 15 .. they are going to attract very good players. As I said yesterday ... while we are competing with a peer group including Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal we must be doing something right down at Brockhall.

All fine and well ES but as things stand we have about 17 1st team players under contract for next season, none of which are strikers. And most of those are pretty crap. We also have no board, no manager, £100m+ debt, disheartened fans and are sinking. This state of affairs is down to the Raos, and it'll only get worse with them here. So who gives a s--t about the youth team right now?

A team of 16 year olds won't win promotion.

Much as it grates to say so, you only have to cast a glance east down the M65 to realise what can be achieved with astute financial planning, good management, oh and a plan.

They've had no benefactor but one cannot help taking your hat off for what they've achieved.

Still, you can't take away our memories, thanks to Uncle Jack.

I just wish there was something to rekindle our hopes and aspirations...........

They had some luck a few years ago when the landed Dyche with their parachute payments about to run out. The got promoted and the rest is history.

No benefactor perhaps, but they have certainly had money to spend.
