If your cats ever ill phone Rovers ! South Africa, India, they collect from anywhere !

We've had the gem, now it's time for the jewell.

Or the Newell.......

I think I'd prefer Newell than Jewell or Carsley. That said I wouldn't want his reputation tarnished and I can't see anyone doing a decent job in present conditions.

I would certainly prefer Newell

Compare and contrast for a moment the 10 favourites for the Rovers job with the 10 favourites to be the next Leeds manager.

Bear in mind that both clubs are well known for being unstable, poorly run, mid-table clubs with bad owners.

Rovers:

Paul Jewell

Keith Hill

Lee Carsley

David Dunn

Ian Holloway

Karl Robinson

Tim Sherwood

David Lowe

Judan Ali

Neil Redfearn

Leeds:

Walter Zenga

Steve Evans

Dougie Freedman

Gus Poyet

Fabio Cannavaro

David Moyes

Nigel Pearson

John Sheridan

Paul Clement

Steve Bruce

Its almost laughable that any Rovers fan would be even content with any of the names on our list. Especially when arguably an even more insane club at Leeds are likely to end up with one of those lot.

Leeds will show that even clubs with poor reputations and bonkers owners will be able to attract proper managers, so please lets not delude ourselves that no decent managers would come here.

Or it could just mean that leeds fan put silly money on managers that will probably not take the job and rovers fans only back the people they think the loons will employ.

Steve Evans is second favorite to replace himself?

Second favourite to be manager on the first day of next season.

He'd be a far better option for Rovers than some of the jokers that are at short odds at the moment.

I think there are decent names on both lists.

Sheridan has had a good season but didn't do well at Newport County, and a few other clubs.

Cannavaro no experience

Freedman good job at Forest and Palace other than that not great at Bolton

Poyet hit and miss

Moyes Damaged goods

Clement failed at Derby

They have better names on paper but I would rather Sherwood, Hill, Holloway.

Out of the whole list of the two clubs the two managers i would snap up are Pearson and Bruce.

Leeds' list consists primarily of sought after managers who have a recent record of success i.e. promotions, play-offs or Premier League experience. Our list consists of people who have achieved nothing at this level or above as managers or who are desperate for a job because they've been out of work for ages after failing in their last jobs.

I suppose Sherwood would be interesting, at least he'd bring some excitement and has worked recently at the top level with big clubs, but I think it could go either way with him. He'd either be brilliant or a disaster, but at least they could sell it to the supporters as showing some sort of ambition.

There's a reason nobody has gone near Holloway or Jewell recently - they both not only failed, but spectacularly so, in their last jobs in this division. They're unemployable at this level, unless your standards have been reduced to rubble like Rovers' fans have these last few years.

Hill and Robinson have impressive lower league records but pitiful Championship records. I don't care what the circumstances were at Barnsley or MK Dons. Given we are in the Championship (for now) and presumably at least want to stay there after next season I don't see the logic in appointing a proven failure at this level on the basis they are decent at a lower level. I suppose some would call it preparing for the inevitable drop to the 3rd division.

There's a lot on that Leeds list I wouldn't want, Freedman in particular, due to my own preference, but at least I could see some sort of logical thinking in appointing any of that lot and most of them would give me encouragement. If Keith Hill or Paul Jewell arrive I'll be resigned to League One.

Think we're already resigned to league one season after next

There actually isn't a Decent name on our list at all. We are just picking out who's the best from a really poor bunch.

I'd rule out 8 of our 10 on the list without evening thinking about it, leaving just Keith Hill and Sherwood. Don't rate Sherwood much but he at least showed something at Spurs, so that basically leaves Hill.

I'd welcome Poyet, Bruce, Pearson, Moyes with open arms.

Was Randy misinformed? Shock, horror !!!

I think we can forget about going down the proven manager route this time.

It's pretty clear than the new man will be on a ten Bob budget, hence talk of someone to develop young players.

Hill or Sherwood would be okay. Carsley? I have an inkling he will make a decent manager.

Virtually impossible for anyone to succeed under the current (lack of) structure.
