Warren Joyce is,like you say,a risk, most fans thinking what Kidd did or didn't,but you never know, plenty of clubs gambled,Reading,Southhampton,Swansea all went down that road and got promoted, whoever it is need to back him and hope it works out..

We've gambled repeatedly since the day they sacked Allardyce, how's it gone so far?

Davies and Martinez are names mentioned.. We will see what happens.. Wont be Warnock... Unsure about Joyce... Seems theres issues at United as hes still on contract..

Billy Davies would be good tbh. Still prefer Holloway to him

yet again what is the owners plan next season?

Not really comparable.

Warnock's successes and failures are as a manager, and over 35 years he's done a lot more right than he has wrong. He's commonly accepted as one of the best managers around for this league as evidenced by his spectacular performance at Rotherham last season. He's even been linked to Newcastle, Villa and Derby in the last couple of weeks which suggests he is sought after by top Championship clubs and widely considered in football circles as a top choice, even aged 67.

Joyce isn't a manager. Whatever he's 'achieved' at United means nothing as it isn't remotely comparable to managing a Championship club with no money. He's done nothing to even suggest he could be a success here, its just another off the wall and unnecessary gamble that we don't need to take and can't afford to take. It doesn't matter what people at United think of him, because they aren't judging him as a manager but as a development coach.

Haha...again, all conjecture mate. Based upon your personal idea of what we need. I'm genuinely not saying you're wrong...just that it's all opinion so we should respect that.

Give it a rest for once. Its boring

It's your picking fights then playing the victim that is boring together with the incessant quoting of the charlatan Nixon.

Managing the egos of Giggs, Speed, Savage and Bellamy is no mean feat!

Perhaps I was undermining that unfairly, but it's still a more of a risk to take an unproven in the league manager.

The different scenario - ie JW interviewed and picked the best he thought. We all trusted his decisions.

This scenario we have now; zero faith in the structure and management of the club. Essentially that's something we all agree on.

That's not to say that discussions can't take place whilst considering that context.

. That's right Kammy,and

they have obviously gone for Warnock, but you can't give him the earth,he's stated 1 year only,Rovers need a 3 year manager contract,he lives in Cornwall, and probably wants the same hours that he had at Rotherham,Thusday-Saturday,that's no good for Rovers,we want someone 7 days a week to sort our club, yes he's a decent record but not the greatest,if you want Championship experience,Billy Davies has the best record, not the most liked guy,but a hell of a good record at this level,Warren Joyce is,like you say,a risk, most fans thinking what Kidd did or didn't,but you never know, plenty of clubs gambled,Reading,Southhampton,Swansea all went down that road and got promoted, whoever it is need to back him and hope it works out..

Southampton and Swansea didn't take ridiculous gambles on off the wall lower league or youth team options like we are looking at.

Southampton's road back was led by Alan Pardew and Nigel Adkins. Both had more than one promotion under their belt as managers before getting the job, and both are respected nationwide as decent managers. Adkins worked miracles at Scunthorpe in twice getting them into the Championship. Add into the mix the role played by Nicola Cortese - clued up, ambitious, clever man who was going to drag Southampton into the Premier League whatever the price backed by Liebherr's millions. A club with a plan, structure and staff to do it.

Swansea went through Roberto Martinez, Paulo Sousa and Brendan Rodgers to get to the Premier League, but they had a board that has shown time after time that they know what they are doing and appoint managers to fit in with their specific identity and style. Do you have the same confidence in the people running Rovers? Because I don't trust any of them to make a reasonable appointment to be honest.

McDermott was Reading's equivalent of Bowyer, only he led them to promotion, but he wasn't an external appointment from someone else's youth team.

I thought i would share some good news with everyone as while things are bad you can always enjoy the fact the Steve Kean isn't doing to well and is currently in 5th position with pressure mounting on him!

Imagine being backed by the Sultan of Brunei and only being 5th in the Singapore league! Wonder if his friends at the Daily Mail will run a story on his struggles.

Could you all just put each other on ignore and give each other a rest?

Tried that but Chaddy get's quoted (often negatively) so often that it negates that option. He's all over the forum like a rash.

Not just my idea of what we need, but I'm also going off what every other club and chairman has done in the last 20 years. None of them have appointed someone else's youth coach to be their manager, so why are we so special or unique as to try it?

I suppose you could just scroll on by? That's all I got.....I feel like he's been a bit quieter on here recently, certainly not turbo posting like Saxo/Vinjay!

If you and your mate do ;)

Me and my mate do what? By mate I assume you mean JBizzle?

I believe you can ignore his quotes as well. (Using the function).

Tell me how then. They just appear when somebody quotes him.

I've re-edited that post you quoted, as it appears I am mistaken.....

On reflection you are probably right. Please don't remind me of Vinjay it gives me palpitations.
