Billy Davies would be good tbh. Still prefer Holloway to him

yet again what is the owners plan next season?

Holloway hasn't been mentioned anywhere by anybody other than you, hes not in the running at all(maybe because of what happened last time he held talks with our board+shabby)

He said he preferred Holloway over Davies, nothing more, wind your neck in.

"wind my neck in":lol: well ard.

I wasn't just referring to that one post, Chaddy has been championing Holloway as his first choice continually for weeks and also every other time the jobs become available, im not having a go at him, It just doesn't make sense to keep going on about a manager that clearly isn't(and wont be) in the running, hed do better to focus on managers(or under 21 coaches  ) that actually have a chance.

(cue Holloways name to be the next out of the bag :) tomorrow)

Oh isn't he just, like where he manages to name Danny Wellbeck as the only notable player bought through in the "ruck" of players FFS what is the point of this appointment, the man is an under 21s coach nothing more.

I notice it took about three posts for the "ohhh he will have great links at United we can borrow their players" tripe to be spouted.

None of the people mentioned so far are worthy of the Rovers job and never would have been considered before these shysters rolled up.

Venkys are killing this club.

Fair suggestion, but I'd call Gary Bowyer a success in the circumstances he found himself in and he was by definition a development coach promoted to manager.

So just how successful were Bowyers youth teams? It was a lazy appointment at best.

It's all conjecture mate. People accept and believe what they want to. We're all clamouring for an experienced guy..Warnock being most people's top guy but this man has more relegations on his CV than the rest of the list put together! However, we oversee that stat and concentrate on the positive because it suits...

Warren Joyce is REALLY well thought of at United. Literally not a single person Iv spoken to (old players, current players and staff) have a bad word about him. Reckon he's always been destined to be an awesome first team manager. Has turned their youth academy around and is progressive and entertaining. Has also won last 3 U21 league titles or something...but with this guy, we ignore his success. We ignore the fact he is a winner because we believe what we want to....we concentrate on the fact he hasn't got experience...

At United, he's not a youth team coach. He manages everything under the first team. Training programmes, preseason, player contracts, player recruitment, style of play, coaching staff...he's essentially their B Team manager....as were Enrique, Zidane, Ayestrian etc etc

I would personally go for Keith Hill.

Hahaha meowwww 😘

FYI - Its you're not your 😏

For what it's worth I think he would do the job. My gut tells me he is the man, however I think the two cicks and owd hen in pune will either oass or drag their feet so long we miss out. Years down the road we will be agreived as we watch him lead the Dingles to the title.

We have to get a Good 'Coach turned manager' one day just by law of averages, but the odds are still against Joyce succeeding, its mainly the thought of having to look for yet another manager in 6 months time that's making me queasy,

But that said we could hire a well established manager and they could fail just as easily(especially with the way our clubs run)

so if he gets appointed you won't support him before a ball is kicked....but instead stand outside the ground with a couple of fans dick in hand shouting out .....down with the venkys.......come on I know it's bad but at least try and get behind a new manager...pfft

Give joyce the job... as under 21 coach... he should be nowhere near the first team, why the feck should we play Russian roulette with the clubs future, in the off chance (very big off chance) that he might do ok?

Fair enough bigbeard I take it back

Absolutely agree...why we play these games is beyond me .... But whoever it is needs our support unless it was Steve Keano now that would really be a @#/? take

All told, Bowyers reign was successful imo. Did very well in tough circs. Certainly nothing like Kidd or Kean.

Hmmm, Bowyer.....stability.....that dirty word.....where are we now.......nah........coincidence....or..... is it......surely the illuminati couldn't have been wrong......could they :o

He left us on the brink of league 1 Mani with a squad full of league 1 players, is that a success?

...and I'm a grateful for his initial contribution! not anti Bowyer by any stretch.

You must have very low standards.

Pissing away our final play-off-worthy squad was somewhat short of what would qualify as a success. Then there's the small matter of where he left the team.

Yet some say Bowyer wasn't backed and Lambert was!

For me personally GB was a breath of fresh air initially. By far the stand out manager of Venkys tenure.

The bloke not only saved us from relegation he had us pushing for a play off spot after a nett spend of around -10m! He actually spent around 3.5m but was forced sell dann, olsson, King cairney and Gestede whom HE brought to the club for the princely sum of £200k.

When you see the likes of Derby and boro spend 20-25m it wasn't bad was it? Also many people were saying our squad was better than it was showing and that Lambert may be able to push on to the play offs?? That soon shifted to GBs team wasn't good enough, how the hell does that one work?

His dig at the fans was ill advised and things did seem to become a little stale, but that's hardly surprising given the conditions and restrictions he was working under.
