Athlete Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Would it be possible for the Vs or whoever is really involved to move ownership of the club onto another holding company ? Merce could be half right if that happened ! Thats very plausible as it would mean no scrutinised books but passed on to another dodge ball

tomphil Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Somehow though I think this 100 mill debt lark quite suits them now. It's getting written up in some quarters like we are 100 mill 'indebted' to them for keeping the club going, the usual propaganda & lazy journo's skirting over the reality of it. Also it gives then the excuse to not spend and slash costs as well as keep cooking the books to their advantage. Plus the excuse not to sell or take anyone on board as they wont pay that for the shares to the club because it'll never be worth that amount ever again. All one big smoke and mirrors con job still.

47er Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Predictive text on phone never great, but you got the drift Was rather good.I honestly thought you'd done it purposely! One man sit down in Nuttall Street wasn't it? I remember that! Thought Lee going was the end of the world at the time!
Iceman Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I could be as mundane as this is obviously the time of year when most of the full time staff take their holidays, so the place is like the Marie Celeste and a phoned-in missive from from India got written up by the tea boy. what happened to the tea lady?
sambo Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 One man sit down in Nuttall Street wasn't it? Who is King Super Fan, out of interest? Feel free to DM me, although I think I have an idea who it might be....

mustard Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 We don't hear often from Venkys so it's worth spending a few minutes seeing what we can learn from the statement for any future attempts.. 1) It was clearly written in another language and then badly translated. This suggests English isn't their primary language for doing business. It's no surprise; while English is widely spoken in India it's not the official language but used more as a lingua franca to overcome the 20-odd official languages and hundreds of dialects. In the large cities in companies with big overseas connections I'd expect things to be written in much better, if a little idiosyncratic English. Pune, while large, is a bit off the beaten track and most of their business is done in India, so little need for strong English skills. Every little helps in trying to get the attention of heads of large companies so if it were me, I'd find out what language they do speak and send anything in that. 2) No-one at Ewood felt empowered to do them a favour and polish the statement, hardly sticking your neck out in the real world. This suggests it's not worth approaching anyone at Ewood about anything. 3) The wording, while odd, does sound more than bit petulant. I interpret it a bit as "Who the @#/? are you sending us unsolicited offers?" I would think it pretty sure that, while the two Ian's are big fish in the North-West, they wouldn't be on the radar of many Indian billionaires - the deals they talk about on their website are simply too small to be of interest. So to get any traction, it's probably going to take someone getting an intro with a reco from a much bigger fish who does get on their radar. I've been wondering how an ex Arsenal stadium announcer like Anderson got in, because he isn't a big enough fish either. Maybe that Huber got him in, or even whoever got Huber in. To me it looks liek for anyone to make any progress with them, they first have to gain the trust of someone who can get them some airtime with the family. Any other budding Conan Doyles read anything else into it? A man after my own heart. The statement comes long after the proposal has been made, yet the execution of it is hurried and amateurish. Did anything change, prompting them to issue this press release? Had they only just got round to it or had the proposal just come to their attention? There are more questions than answers coming from Ewood/Pune nowadays. Who knows what's going on?! As for theories, to quote Sherlock: "It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts." Tbf, all we can do is theorise when it comes to the Venky's. Their motives remain unclear, we'll likely never have even half the facts re: their ownership and I fear the mystery shan't be solved until it's too late.
ABBEY Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 So they've responded to " media reports ? " how's the Indian papers ad going ? Ramp it up em

Very interesting questions - what indeed was the rush? I think it's a fair interpretation to assume that the proposal had not been a priority for them, but why issue something at the moment they did? What was the catalyst? The only non tin foil hat theory I can come up with is someone noticed the deadline was expiring and Seneca would no doubt be issuing some statement not to their advantage so, rushing something out that basically said "F8ck off" meant they got the first word and Seneca's statement would be a response to that, which it was.
Blueboy Downunder Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 3rd party ownership is illegal!! could that be a possibility as reason/s why these gutless pricks won't sell. noun: money laundering; noun: moneylaundering the concealment of the origins of illegally obtained money, typically by means of transfers involving foreign banks or legitimate businesses. i am not accusing anybody of this, just for all the legal eagles out there, but....if said shoe fits!! if the moderators want this post deleted, then fire away.
The_Expert Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I've long felt suspicious of the way in which anyone with any nous or insight has been removed from their position with the club, but only since the Loons of Pune came to the table... It would be very enlightening to hear from someone who has been at the table with these charlatans, just what goes on behind closed doors. Come on.. speak up!!!
BrisRover Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 noun: money laundering; noun: moneylaundering the concealment of the origins of illegally obtained money, typically by means of transfers involving foreign banks or legitimate businesses. i am not accusing anybody of this, just for all the legal eagles out there, but....if said shoe fits!! if the moderators want this post deleted, then fire away. Just a thought but being under a transfer embargo could seriously hinder a business from this type of activity, well at least without financials being scrutinised to the nth degree. It seemed the club were super keen to get out of the embargo and rightly so but now it looks as though a decent transfer kitty has been taken off the table. Conspiracies etc i know but something just isn't right

What money? The club has no money to give to them anymore. All thats left is the remaining assets, and im not talking about the tea lady
ABBEY Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 So they are not selling and there's a possiblty that these Burnley crackpots are about to unleash the insults of all insults towards rovers fans by appointing monkey head .
Norbert Rassragr Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 What money? The club has no money to give to them anymore. All thats left is the remaining assets, and im not talking about the tea lady The money can come from anywhere and be cleaned up by VLL, the club, agents etc. and moved on. For example, Balaji Rao might have a gangster friend involved in Bollywood who wants to clean up some money after selling guns to terrorists. He gives Rao the money, it gets used in the signing on fee for a player, and then it eventually goes back to the gangster when Balaji buys him a Rolls Royce or whatever. Sounds far fetched? Well, not that far fetched when you see who Rao hangs out with: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/bollywood/news/Jail-term-strains-Dutts-business-relations/articleshow/19318452.cms http://www.bolegaindia.com/gossips/What_went_wrong_between_Raj_Kundra_and_Balaji_Rao-gid-35810-gc-6.html http://www.punemirror.in/pune/others/Prison-to-temple-all-in-a-days-work-for-free-man-Dutt/articleshow/51128690.cms

Norbert Rassragr Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Of course, I was speaking hypothetically, and apart from Sanjay Dutt knowing Balaji Rao there is no cause for alarm. Venky's washing machine was just used as an example of how money laundering could work.............................
1arC Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 How strange that Balaji has failed to pay his dues, despite being a billionaire.
tomphil Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 When non famous people like that walk around with their own gun in a holster never mind a team of bodyguards I think it's safe to say they are rather dodgy. But unless some authority or other decides to investigate it all very thoroughly then they'll get away with whatever it is they are doing.
