[Archived] Venkys Not Selling Rovers

Recommended Posts

The bid had little chance of success on a number of levels. But primarily as it was about 60 million shy. Not sure why everyone was getting giddy. Pay the 120 million and buy the club, promise another 50 million over 5 years, or stop prattling on.

Printed bedsheets for Seneca?

Everyone states the two Ian's are very astute. The cynic in me notes lots of free advertising at the moment.

Advertising for a capital company and one which actively takes on distressed companies i.e a venture capitalist? There is a documentary somewhere with Ian Currie on it, suggest you watch him, Craig Whyte he is not!

As for free advertising, yeah because there is loads in Blackburn with distressed companies. ...

vent away if yo really must, I can take it.

but all I'm basically saying is that I think they're all just playing games and they're all as bad as each other really, its not helping anything and is just causing more unrest amongst fans, the only people that are on "power trips" are those involved in the shenanigans, I don't know anything and have no power over anybody or anything, Im just giving my thoughts, simply ignore if they bother you so much.

That's a serious accusation though.

Saying you don't think they're much cop is one thing, and a fair enough (if wildly incorrect imo) opinion. But to say they are as bad as Venkys? Really?

Let's think about that for a minute. Personally, I'm not sure that's even possible even if they were a bunch of villains (which I stress to add I don't think is the case.) No one intentionally or otherwise could actually do a worse job than Venkys. Are you really saying that you think they'll have an executive structure as none existent as the current one, be as slow in responding to things - minor things like appointing a manager and the like? Do you really think they could, whilst selling our best players and devalue the squad quality leave us £100 million in debt? All in all a ludicrous summation of the whole situation.

David GouldenWe were far wòrse before jack walker inthird division with no money and poor managers but out the blue you find a good one and things get better .but you must support your team through it all most people who moan have

only whatched since 92 onwards and havent seen the terable days good luck venkys thanks for keep putting money in

Elliot ClarkWe need to back the venkys now who have stuck by us losing money every week, back the new manager and back the team for the season ahead

Kyle RichmanI agreeh Elliot now that that's done and we have clarification we can now move on and upwards! And look forward to a promotion push next year hopefully!

What depressingly shyte news...totally bereft and at my witts end with the whole situation.

You Pune fools have caused so much damage to the Jack Walker Legacy, even our Claret neighbours couldn't have done a better job on us.I doubt Rovers will ever recover from your gross mismanagement.

You have caused thousands of fans to walk away from Ewood, you have put fan against fan, make no mistake..you ARE the worst owners this proud old club has ever had in its distinguished 140 year history.

You inept useless b'stards must be so proud.

It is hard to see how we go forward.

For all the abuse Wheelock gets (and he IS a reporter rather than a 'journalist' I agree, he has criticised Rovers on radio Lancs and again tonight he has got the Seneca response online quickly. The problem I think is above his head at the LT.

Seneca need to release a full, bold statement slating the owners and calling them out as liars and the LT need to carry it front page to make the casual and everyday fan fully aware.

Too many people who go to Ewood regularly or casually attend still don't get it. They still think the V's are well intentioned owners with deep pockets who are funding the survival. The lies and bullshit needs to be revealed.

It needs to go beyond the LT it has to register nationally and then in India to make a ripple. Seneca should be approaching people like Henry winter who actually backed the fans see if a national will print it

Not sure how many of you are on Facebook but it's amazing the number of fans who seem positively delighted that the Seneca bid has failed and are shooting down dissenters.

The consistent put down in post after post is to portray themselves as superfans.

Just a few of the comments on Facebook, aggghhhhhhh

I have given up on most of the groups far to many apologists out there they offer venkys every excuse at the expense of fans who want answers. Some will positively revel in this news, I saw one today saying our downfall began when the fans won over Kean getting potted!!

Well at least we now know, that they are not the full owners, they only own a stake in the club.

Need to keep this in perspective.

Firstly, Seneca's response states they made suggestions on how it might work going forward. I would be very surprised if these suggestions did not include either an option or options in terms of ownership/part ownership and ongoing financing of the club.

Secondly, as I flagged previously, due diligence in any acquisition/part acquisition is always a key factor and particularly so in Rovers' terms with all the allegations that have been made about the club's dealings over the last five years. No sensible operator would make a firm proposal without effective due diligence.

For clarification purposes, when I referred in an earlier post to 'no ambiguity here', I meant we clearly had two conflicting claims (from Venky's and Seneca) about a potential would be offer. I know who I would trust the most.

If this latest insult to our intelligence isn't enough to finally tip people over the edge, I don't know what it would take. Genuinely offended, which takes some doing, as the last 5 years have only served to gradually numb my strength further and further. Somehow they need to be removed from situ or the club will eventually die. Their ineptitude truly knows no bounds. How much longer can they play out this pleading ignorance schtik? Feeling deflated tonight, but after the darkness comes the light fellow Rovers. Do not give up. When the true story is told, we will have our day of redemption.

The issue is they never get to the stage of being able to perform due diligence it's hard to see that changing anytime soon

Agreed as for the long term picture. However in the first instance the idiots that Stuart and DunnFC are referring to on facebook need to understand the truth. If the LT wanted to, they could seriously help turn the opinion of locals.

Unfortunately they seem unwilling to risk angering a club which does nothing for them at all with regards to reports or exclusives. They are scared from being banned from the ground / press conferences otherwise they will have nothing.

I think the issue is Venky's don't even want to sit round the table with anyone to explore any option(s).

IMV, they clearly don't want to listen and it's a great big no, no. Maybe, the club is not for sale at any price and one would have to question why!

I'm interested to hear Kamy's take on the Seneca statement.

IMHO, Seneca have maintained their dignity and continue to not put Venkys on the spot. Meanwhile, Venkys treat all comers, whether challenge, requests for communication or even offers of help, with utter, utter contempt.

Seneca, Rovers fans, even Rovers are beneath them. Dogshit on the sole of their shoes to be scraped off by a serf.

Yet some people swallow their bullshit time after time, and even ask for more. Why? Because they are great fans and everyone who wants them gone is an 'enemy of the club'.

When they eventually leave there is a good chance we will have no club. We will have another five years of slide into non-league and nobody to stop them because of goldfish-levels of forgiveness. The slide will be so slow and gradual that every 'mistake' will be met with another excuse. Eventually there will be no need for a phoenix club, let alone appetite for one, as Rovers 2020 will be at the same level. With Venkys' gallons still around our collective necks.

I've not felt such hate since Kean left. It's the kind of feeling that makes you not only feel the need to pack in with Rovers but pack in with football completely.

What are Seneca going to go to the National Press about exactly?

That the Venky's turned down a ridiculously underfunded and unrealistic proposal for them to hand over control of the Club? No story there.

However if the alleged offer and the subsequent fans backlash to Venky's apparent dismissal of it needle Venky's into doing a better job of running the Club then some good will have come of it.

They need to set out their stall, getting banned from the ground / press conferences is a story in itself. They need to 'pick' a side now and act.

People really have no idea what is going on, pre Internet all we had was the paper, but now there should be no excuse for this sorry tale not getting out to everyone.

Not only that but I'm sure if they went to National Media the likes of Wayne WIld would provide testimonies to be printed with the article for maximum exposure. Not enough fans know about what has happened to us. My site full of mancs in Salford of 100 lads still think Keano was ok until i point out the obvious.

I would agree with this even with their wealth there comes a point were you have to question what's happening to the cash. To just sign over 30 million a year and watch it burn doesn't add up for me

How do you know it was "a ridiculously underfunded and unrealistic proposal for them to hand over control of the Club"?

Rovers is a club haemorrhaging £20million+ a season with debts I would think now in the region of £130million+.

If I was the owner of a business in such financial shyte and an operation, IMV, listing like a sinking ship, I would be eternally grateful if I was approached by a credible operator offering some financial relief and a potential way to recoup some serious money.

No we don't? Where have you got that from?

My apologies I read their statement in a hurry earlier,

" We, the owners of the club, have no intention of selling or diluting our stake in any manner.

I skipped the bit in bold.

I still don't believe they own the club outright, some dodgier folk than them involved too, I don't believe they went away.

I am confused as to what Seneca actually offered as well - it talks about working with the owners, but makes no mention about obtaining a 51% share in Rovers as was reported. This makes me wonder whether Seneca did offer joint ownership or not - and thus whether the response from Venky's is accurate. Please don't take this as a defence of the owners - but I think Seneca need to be totally transparent now as to exactly what they offered Venky's.

Perhaps Kamy can now throw some light onto what the letter exactly offered (TBH I think it is poor that they shared this proposal with anyone).
