JBiz Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Maybe 1.5m next summer if he's not agreed a new deal but the ridiculous raos have tended to only sell players at their worth. That obviously doesn't include players we've paid off (wages more than their net) or released. The examples of stubbornness on Jones, Samba and more recently Gestede, Rhodes - mind I thought Cairney should've been 1/2m more.

joey_big_nose Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Grant's probably our best player now, had a very good season, and there's no way we would sell for £1.5m. I'd say more likely £3-4m. I do think he will go this summer though.
oldjamfan1 Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 As I've been saying for ages, Grant Hanley will go to Rangers. I got shot down by a few on here who said that Rangers couldn't afford him. Joey Barton doesn't come cheap and he's been signed on a three year deal, so they definitely CAN afford him.

philipl Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Hanley won't be at Rovers on 1 October 2016 but unless he breaks his leg when I see him on Sunday night, he won't be in a Fulham shirt either....
JAL Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Sounds like they are taking the same advice as they did following the season when we kept Kean after just escaping the drop on the last day. Take one step back to take two forwards ! Break it all down but down worry if we drop as sales and savings will cover it. Re build with almost entirely youth brought in by this expert coach, stabilise then get promoted within another two seasons. By this time the 'book value' will be up again and a few of that youth will be worth decent money and another few will be worth a million a piece. Then we can sell again to pay the bills run up and aim to stabilize in the champ whilst bringing through another crop. An agents or agencies wet dream we've always been since the takeover. Not hard to fathom why. A local agent said to me before the takeover how he would love John Williams job never thought anything of it at the time, but I, sure do now.
roverandout Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Never mind throw the towel, I would like to bend the owd hag over and slap are arse repeatedly with it, preferably a wet towel or one with a bar of soap in
Athlete Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Unless it actually happens Jock, let's not assume! I think we can safely say it will happen probably slightly higher than we're currently being offered
JBiz Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I think we can safely say it will happen probably slightly higher than we're currently being offered Say what you want about the owners, id generally agree however they've not often sold prize assets on cheap and he's currently our best player!
yoda Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Hanley won't be at Rovers on 1 October 2016 but unless he breaks his leg when I see him on Sunday night, he won't be in a Fulham shirt either.... Ask him if he has finished with the "Get a grip" I lent him
darrenrover Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Grant's probably our best player now, had a very good season, and there's no way we would sell for £1.5m. I'd say more likely £3-4m. I do think he will go this summer though. Perhaps £1.5 through the books and the balance in reddies?
Athlete Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Say what you want about the owners, id generally agree however they've not often sold prize assets on cheap and he's currently our best player! yes but they sell them as another poster has worked out how much has been made on transfers
Jock Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Doesn't matter how much we get for him. It wont be reinvested on a quality replacement.
RevidgeBlue Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Hanley is probably the only player left I really wouldn't want to see sold but at the risk of sounding like the LT I "understand" he is on the lookout for a move to another Championship Club. Who can blame him (or anyone else) the state we're in at this precise moment. However if a particularly impressive new manager were to come in though, that might change one or two minds amongst the players. If the worst came to the worst and he were to go though, we should be looking at a fee in the 4m sort of bracket surely not the pitiful sums being mooted.
tomphil Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Don't blame Hanley one bit but it would be desperately disappointing to see him go anywhere on the cheap, especially another championship club. He's been here a long time though and he knows what the club was and he'll know what's coming so sounds like he's desperate to get out
JBiz Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 yes but they sell them as another poster has worked out how much has been made on transfers If the wage and pay off bill is fully worked out over the same period, I'm sure many would be shocked. Is PL the only manager we haven't paid off? How many NDAs? We still had JR on a premier league wage up until 5 months ago also. Athlete, I'm with you or anyone who thinks that dodgy stuff that went on but taking transfer fees directly out the club isn't something I could think happened. The last two managers seem to have had their say in players but the damage done before that will be a dead weight around our necks for sometime yet, this owner or new one! As for Hanley, unless he has a clause or really kicks up a fuss - he won't go for less than 4/5m IMO. I also agree with others, this won't go to transfers if it happens, maybe his wage will be available? It's hardly suprising with the ever increasing gap.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Is there any real evidence he's wanting to leave? I appreciate our "owners" have no idea who he is or what he does for a living. If they are offered anything in the millions, well hell yes! Chuck in the remaining shelves, the club shop, Rover the dog (what the feck do we need a mascot for, it's not poultry based (see what I did there)!, and any self-respect we may have left, job done. Complete wa*kers!
A cup of beans Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Don't blame Hanley one bit but it would be desperately disappointing to see him go anywhere on the cheap, especially another championship club. He's been here a long time though and he knows what the club was and he'll know what's coming so sounds like he's desperate to get out It's sad, if he's desperate to leave. Even sadder for us fans is the fact that: under normal circumstances at a well run club, he wouldn't be a huge loss. How far we've fallen when we consider his previous form and the low esteem he's been held in by many (me).
tomphil Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I would have driven him anywhere away from Ewood not long ago and I know for a fact he was acting the dick away from football. I think he and one or two others made the most of the lax matey matey regime of GB & co but I also think Bowyer reeled him in eventually. It only bothered me when he was linked with Burnley and I thought hang on if Dyche gets hold of him he'll become a proper player, so I didn't want him to go then. I respect the fact he's got his nut down and got it together. He isn't the only young player to act the way he was but at least he had enough about him to get it together. I also like to think Lambert played a part in getting a bit of a lid and the drinking culture developing by busting them in training every day and getting them to put their fitness first.
McClarky Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 If Hanley doesn't want to leave there must be something wrong with him. He's a professional, and a decent one at that, why would he want to be part of this circus?
oldjamfan1 Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 differance is we will want between 3-5 million for Hanley were as barton was free Are you kidding? That is not a fortune for a club like them. Believe me Rangers can afford Hanley and he wants to go there and they desperately need a centre half. He will be their other marquee signing this summer, mark my words.
