How does Lambert, Irvine & Kelly factor into this grand conspiracy?

I'm not for one second ruling out shady goings on or that we're a hotbed for agents looking to make a quick buck, but some people think Kentaro/SEM are acting as shadow owners, while others believe 'they' want the club to quietly sink into oblivion to cover up all the foul play. If that were the case, they could've left Bowyer in charge, or hired another puppet to do their bidding, instead of binning the entire backroom staff and bringing in an ambitious new management team. What was the point of that?

I don't see some master plan at work here. What I see is a series of haphazard, ill-advised decisions taken by absentee owners who defer to whichever member of their inner-circle has their ear that week.

It could just be a case of moving him on before we took steps to exit the embargo because he'd have wanted to make signings for money, backed up by his track record in that. Maybe he already drawn up a list of targets or even hinted that he'd quit or something if he didn't get backed. He was no duck egg and he'd have known damn well we were set to struggle even more once JR was sold.

For me they just didn't want to commit to buying players and handing out 2 or 3 year contracts. It was easier and cheaper in their warped minds to change the staff and they probably like what Lambert had pitched to them in terms of the loans he wanted to bring in and the cheapos he wanted to sign. He'd likely also agreed to flog Rhodes so they probably told him he could have the proceeds from that at least.

Not like them to lie eh. Anyway they didn't back him with players being bought preferring to let him get angry and walk and now they just seem to want someone to use youth now instead. The incomings v outgoings almost balancing out show they've never really spent a bean on players out of their own pocket. That's the way they like it.

Cheers Col, anyone else fancy moving on our players?

How about you Gallagher? Why not big up a move for Marshall in your next LT column.

The tone of it suggests the conversation was around Scottish football. Maybe a syndicated interview.

We needn't worry too much, Col himself will probably forget he's even said those things (hic).

Noticed how they are getting in the advertising Hanley for sale line whilst Wheelock is on Holiday so he doesn't cop for it. Probably the dingle influence again on this. You really do wonder what the LTs agenda is these days at times.

Disgusting, but not surprising, from the Telegraph.

Dodge the major issues at the club, avoid doing any real journalism, lift some quotes from Hendry given to someone else and hey presto you've got a transfer story linking our captain with a move away. They've presumably run out of material to lift from interviews given by Corry Evans and Shane Duffy whilst on international duty so they've moved on to other things.

They are an embarrassment.

They're a disgrace. Just letting Rangers know how much he costs, his wages and that we don't want him.

They really are a shower of @#/?.

You're blaming the messenger instead of the message. The LET have filed a legitimate story based on Hendry's quotes - if you want to point any blame look to Colin Hendry not the LET.

"Real" investigagtive journalism costs money, by experienced trained reporters who know how to dig out a story. The LET now is a hollowed out version of the former paper it used to be, staffed by in the main a skeleton staff of untrained juniors. Production is done from south Wales.

If you want to see a revival in local newspaper journalism, stop using the internet and take out a daily subscription for the LET.

But how long would we have to keep buying it, while it is s***t.?

Good slurp Colin indeed.

1.5 to 1.8 million seems low for Hanley, not that I am his biggest fan.

He's just trying to get them bidding I think, word goes around and Lambert was at it and the LT have been chipping away at this for a while. Someone somewhere is putting it about and I wouldn't be surprised if it's coming from inside the club as concern sets in on how we continue to pay the bills. It'll be widely thought inside the office of the Ewood number crunchers that this lad has to be sold next.

All makes sense when you think about it as assets have been gradually cashed in since the finance director went to India last summer instead of the manager then came back and we sold Cairney out of the blue. I'm almost convinced that V's have turned the taps off from then and the club is now trying to be self sustaining by selling as and when.

I know it's been said they injected another 30 mill but there has been no sign of that on VLL yet. The last shares issued where for only 1 millionish whereas before it's always been in blocks of 10 mill + I think. Unless they change tac this club will be in admin by this time next year after all worth anything have been sold.

Hendry's also a former Rangers man don't forget - I'm fairly sure he is a Rangers supporter from childhood as well. Might explain some of the comments at least. He should keep his @#/? nose out of any business involving both clubs though.

In Scotland, players are always linked to Shelec or the Huns depending on what school they went to. Very sad. Rangers don't have much money so are probably trying to get the price down before they put a low bid in. Hopefully we'll tell them to jog on but you never know with this shower do you. No strangers to financial irregularities either them Huns of course so there might be an accommodation made of some kind.

His son had to leave Rangers at very short notice. I wonder why.

I know a Geordie guy who moves around in the directors lounge up there on matchdays and he was on about it before the end of last season. I think I posted on here about it but his name was being mentioned before they'd even gone down so it would seem they are serious. This will just be a matter of arguing the figure and I expect it will go on until the end of the window to minimise damage to our ST sales.

As if it'll make much difference like........

Know a few Newcastle fans and I believe they only have one recognised centre back in Lascelles. Coloccini and Taylor have left so they just need numbers. If they have ambitions of calling themselves a premier league club then Hanley is just a body for short term.

Newcastle, the city and nightlife, will ruin him. He's always in the emporium apparently so goodness knows what the bigg market will do to him. He'll spend as much time in jesmond on Osborne road as the training ground. Most bars have happy "hour" machines that range from free drinks, drinks for a £1, half price, 2 4 1, or full price. I'd wager he'll semi pro on those.
