tomphil Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 What a complete waste of money but I supposed this will be passed off as generous owner investment ! Cut vital costs with one hand then window dress and waste money with the other. Quote

Ben-2000 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Anyone have any news about the other changes that were supposedly going to be made at Ewood this summer? I heard there was a new jumbotron going between the Darwen End/Jack Walker stands and digital advertising boards around the pitch, but there's no sign of these from the photos taken recently. The big screen rumour was complete rubbish! No idea about adverts... was glad when they got rid of those. Quote
unsall Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 The gantry is being built off site, should be in for start of season Quote
Jock Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 The gantry is being built off site, should be in for start of seasonI hear Tony Hart and Morph are knocking it together. Blue Peter missed out because Biddy Baxter would do a bung. Quote

Rover_Shaun Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 You are kidding, aren't you?restricted view becomes super restricted view. Like the seated version of boltons old normid end Quote

Yep just seems to be scaffolding although maybe they are running the cables in the roof or something or building a walkway for the new gantry. More likely just changing light bulbs ! Quote
Jock Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Loosening the roofing in the hope it'll blow away this winter. Riverside closed down due to storm damage. 1 Quote
riverside returns Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Blimey, the way some go on, would think a total screen in front of the pitch would suit you more..... Quote
Stuart Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Blimey, the way some go on, would think a total screen in front of the pitch would suit you more..... Now there's an idea. With a mural of a 2007/08 match on it. 1 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Now there's an idea. With a mural of a 2007/08 match on it. That lad who did the painting of King scoring should be hired to paint a crowd in the Riverside................actually all around Ewood methinks. Quote
ABBEY Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Blimey, the way some go on, would think a total screen in front of the pitch would suit you more..... would be an improvement on the venkwashing on the pitch. Quote

AggyBlue Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 So will everyone be getting a seat transfer to the Riverside for televised matches? Quote
J*B Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 So will everyone be getting a seat transfer to the Riverside for televised matches? No. Will they hell. If you've bought a season ticket in the Jack Walker stand you should be shamed into sitting there live on TV supporting the Venkys reign of Blackburn Rovers Football Club. Quote

I do love a keyboard critic. See you in the JW when we get a 'big team' in the cup. Quote
Ben-2000 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 What like West Ham last season when the home support matched that of a league game? Quote

mustard Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Wasn't too sure exactly where to put this. But has anyone been down to Ewood lately? Have you noticed how filthy it is? Have a little look if you drive past. Rust on the gates/fencing. The stands are filthy on the outside with clear brown streaks below the wording for the JW stand. It is terrible, and truly a sign of the times under Venky's. Needs a good clean and painting, but our billionaire owners will have trouble covering the costs no doubt, until Marshall and Duffy are sold anyways. 4 Quote
