[Archived] News Article -> Coyle expected to be announced as new manager tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Respected local journalist Paul Wheelock interrupted his holiday to announce on twitter that he believes the Scottish ex-Burnley manager Owen Coyle will be unveiled as Rover's new manager tomorrow.

If true, it's unlikely to win much favour with the Rover's fans, who have taken to social media is huge number recently to voice their dissatisfaction with the Rovers' owners, which has led to #VenkysOut being one of the top 20 UK trending topics on twitter for over 24hrs.

Wasn't Coyle still the Houston manager while Cheston was conducting the interviews before he went on holiday. If Coyle wasn't on the 3-4 man shortlist for an interview who has changed their mind and offered the job to Coyle?

Venkys would of never heard of Coyle before so who is choosing this manger?

Owen Coyle, after rovers v Bolton.....

''Steve Kean is a terrific coach and manager. All you want is an opportunity. We have the best league in the world, but we don't have the 20 best managers in the world, someone has to fill the dreaded places where no-one wants to be.''

So we are now beyond the dreaded places on one wants to be......well he has a point, no one wants to be here unless you cozy up to a certain agency.....

Platitudes for stable mates was probably part of his contract

Well after sticking up for Kean, he can't say he doesnt know what he's getting into. There will be no honeymoon period. Venkys will have succeeded in one thing. Galvanising the fan base in universal discontent at the manager. Maybe the straw that breaks the camels spine.

Those considering ST renewal need to think long and hard about the bigger picture here.

Consider this, JA has got his hands in the till again. That's where your money will be going.

This is Kean MKII

Exactly as Andyroversmad says above.

We have a shortlist of candidates we are interviewing to find the best man for the job.

Suddenly a candidate becomes available whose last three activities in football has led Bolton to relegation, failed at Wigan and then left Houston Dynamos when they are bottom of the league.

Despite all of the interviews being completed, suddenly this guy becomes available, becomes front runner and gets the job.

It stinks.

How much more money do we give to SEM before we say enough is enough? We hire their players, we have their sponsors on our shirt, we have their manager in our dugout. Is this really Blackburn Rovers any more, or just SEM Rovers who happen to play at Ewood Park?

Dark times.

He has not been appointed yet.

Maybe it is all a bad dream or a wind up and Alex Ferguson is going to come out of retirement to save us along with a £100M "war chest" from Balaji.

The crowds will flock back and we will win two games on the trot again.......heaven.
