deryck guyler's spoon Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Cue mouth foaming invective from the tin foil hat wearing fruit loops. Good luck to a decent man/manager, he'll need it. Out of the frying pan and all that...........
Earlydoors Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Good luck to you Gaz ....but seriously, couldn't you find a chairman that's not potty ?
chaddyrovers Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Very good appointment for them. I would imagine that McPhilips or Grant will be his number 2 there
Rover_Shaun Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Stability in League 2. They must be thrilled with the prospect
onlyonejackwalker Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Stability in League 2. They must be thrilled with the prospect They'll soon discover they've not been giving it a right good go. Best of luck to Bowyer anyway.
perthblue02 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Think he might do alright there, expectations are low and 20 odd draws a season would be an improvement, who knows he might have developed a bit of a ruthless streak whilst out of work. Good luck to him anyway, but expect he will be looking for a new job next summer through no fault of his own
Parsonblue Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Good luck to Gary at Blackpool - he'll need it. Can't help thinking Blackpool have got a better manager than we have if we appoint Coyle.
rovers11 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Bowyer clearly needs the money. No way he would accept that job otherwise. Poison chalice. Big fan of Bowyer. Decent manager.
punerover Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Genuinely wish all the best to Bowyer. I think he is the guy that can perform when expectations are rock bottom or when nothing is at stake. If he finishes anywhere remotely close to the playoff's he would be considered a resounding success for a club like Blackpool, if not, the owners can always be blamed. Put him under any sort of pressure and he buckles. Lower league should suit him just fine. He is used to getting in decent'ish freebies and loanies which is probably why Blackpool hired him.
JBiz Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Good luck to Gary at Blackpool - he'll need it. Can't help thinking Blackpool have got a better manager than we have if we appoint Coyle. Snap. I'd take GB a hundred times over this guy
donnermeat Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Snap. I'd take GB a hundred times over this guy I'd like to think everyone would!
47er Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Wish Bowyer well. Hard to work out which is the more difficult job, his last one or his new one!
tomphil Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 If he was going to get another managerial gig then it was always going to be something like this. Best of luck to him he deserves his crack at it. If he actually got a bit of backing there I think he'll surprise a few.
arbitro Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Good luck to him. He is a football man (albeit limited as a manager) and no doubt will work hard. However working for creeps like the Oystons I can't help thinking it will end badly for him.
West Yorks Rover Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Gary Bowyer will probably get, little, if any, hassle from the fans, it's all about the pure hatred towards the owners. He's probably in a "no lose" situation, whilst earning a nice little crust.
mustard Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Never liked Gary Bowyer as a manager, but he seems like a decent bloke, which is why I am disappointed he's chosen to work for that scumbag Oyston. Says a lot that he's having to take a job there. Low expectations at least.
Mercer Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 It's rumoured Jones was nailed on first choice but wanted too much money, almost twice as much as was on the table - you don't mess with Karl Oyston. Friend of mine is a strong Blackpool fan and he is distinctly underwhelmed by the appointment. Guess we will find out what Bowyer is really made of - think it will be on a hugely reduced pay packet though.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Well there ya go the fans of Bowyer who were always quick to criticise Lambert. Appointed by a League 2 club, that's how good he was/is.
ChrisyG Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I strangely miss him saying "right good go" every week.
harryhealless1928 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Looks like Blackpool have got a better deal than us this week. And no,Im not over-promoting GB who did his best for us.
perthblue02 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 GB first interview unfortunately no right good goes yet http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/article/bowyer-hard-work-starts-now-3132942.aspx
