I don't know about conspiracy, but it strikes me as odd that Irvine was ever asked or that, if he likes Rovers and gets the area, he would suggest one guy who, even if he's a friend, he must know will go down badly with a large section of the small, remaining fan base. Why would you do it?

Good point. There's a few issues here.

1 Why is Irvine being asked. A better manager who's want his own assistant or a weaker one who's keep Irvine on. Not saying it definitely went down like this bit to say there's a whopping conflict of interest there is an understatement.

2 As you say why indeed would you recommend someone so divisive with a shattered fanbase.

3 owners don't listen to employees - Lambert situation ring any bells?

4 at a normal club maybe there's no conspiracy but given all rovers fans accept we've been done over by a conspiracy before under Vs ownership, Coyle is the opposite of the person spec appointee after the interviews, he's lied about his SEM links - hmmm I think I'll remain suspicious about this appointment.

I think he will get a better offer and hoof it!!

By the way as a way of perhaps attempting a better zen state on the board , I am reminded of my brother's wise words. "Anyone but Paul Jewell."

And yet a poster on here (can't remember which one) very confidently assured us that Paul Jewell was a done deal........

Maybe...but Coyle won't earn his Spurrs as rovers manager with signings like that

Ha Ha, no he won't, but that's the market we are in. Venkys will choke the life out of us, it just a matter of time.

In fact that's why I'm not as angry as I should be at Coyles appointment, because who ever got the job would be doomed.

Five ? six ? years down the line under Venkys and people are still coming out with "im Boycotting".

If those that feel that strong about it ..why didnt they boycott in the first year and be done with Rovers ..?

Not a dig at folk ..but why has it taken six years for people to be saying the same old same old come season close ?

will we be having the same threads in four years down the line if we re still owned by this effin lot .?

Why didn't they boycott after the first year? with Premiership football on offer and Owners settling into the role? that would have been madness.

You talk about it like its an easy decision blooboy, its like breaking up with a girlfriend, or leaving a fantastic place to work because they just don't pay enough.

To give up going to Ewood is more difficult than it should be, its not as black and white as you make it sound and to be honest its entirely up to the individual as we all go for various reasons thet often go way beyond 90 minutes on a Saturday.

Are you boycotting?

Im talking about those who are openly advocating boycotting Gav.Those who have for several seasons yet dont but are quite openly attacking to those that who say they ll still attend.

And lets put something else into perspective here ..Rovers aint an obsession for all those that attend.Yes on here we have those who are (hence why else join the madness on this messageboard ..) but you also have those that simply enjoy watching their local team on a saturday ..a few beer with mates .a saturday away from the wife.Like it or not but its true.

But again we have those shouting down those that wish to attend ..yet its taken the majority of those that are doing the shouting six years to come around to the fact that Venkys arnt very good for Blackburn Rovers...or simply dont stand by their staunch views on here ..

What people say they re going to do on a messageboard and what they actually do come match day are two different things ..

Hats off to those that actually stand by their views ..but i think its only a minority ..

Are you boycotting?

I find it harder than divorcing my wife and changing my job.

So its messageboard posturing more than anything else that you're calling out, I get it now.

Just out of interest are you boycotting?

I've told my dad I'm not setting foot inside Ewood again until they've gone, he's gone ballistic due to family presence on the terraces since the 1800's, so its really really tough to say no more.

As for away games I was going to attend, but after they appointed Coyle, a man with an abysmal managerial record thats been employed because of who he's been connected with rather than for footballing reasons I'm torn, I really am.

Coyles first interview denying knowing SEM helps to be honest, they couldn't lie straight in bed some of the people involved with skimming money from the club.

I hear you pal, I really do...

Are you sure about that Gav? It's like divorcing your wife being suspicious about her cheating on you I have it on good authority that there are connections with SEM but I am not hundred percent sure.

Fair play Gav ..again not a dig ..but just wondering why its taken so long for those advocating boycott are/still attending after six years ..the owners havent changed .

BTW Gav ..ive family who were actually on the pitch and in the boardroom in the late 1800s ..so not so easy for me either ..

But yes several posters have said correctly during summer 2014 things actually looked to going back to normal. They did some understandable decisions then.

It stinks. Now the dust has settled I still feel sickened by the appointment.

I know people are saying, "He's probably the only one who wanted it", but I don't believe that for a second.

From his stats over the last few years, how on earth can appointing him be justified?

Sorry, but I can't buy into all this, "We have to support him", stuff.

I've had enough.

I remember Ken Furphy as Rovers manager and feel quite young.....even at the PIL gig last Thursday in King Georges Hall....I;ve had 30 years of Ewood Park season tickets in the last 31years but like the keany Steve Kean season....I'm boycotting again. Maybe I;ll make the odd away trip but I'm defo not down Ewood again until things change - hate the Venkys.

Burnley fans....schadenfreude is one thing but what is occurring at \Ewood Park is beyond all that....ying @#/? off yang

Why don't you just have a think about it, there's a very simple answer

Boycott / smoycott! It has become a chore or obligation going down to Ewood Park these last few years. It is nothing to do with our ambition or league position, just Venky's drain on our pride and hope and identity. Owen Coyle may be a local sound sober Catholic geezer but in the current miasma around BRFC no one can trust him. The fact that he once vouched for Steve Kean against the Rovers fan base has damned him eternally as far as I'm cocerned. I have not been involved in the recent 'Twitterstorm' but can't abide what is going on....away games for me next season, not the Riverside.
