[Archived] New Article -> New Rovers Manager

Interesting reading arbito's post about how lots of long term fans he knows are now going to boycott.

I was at a do with a load of long term Rovers fans yesterday, nobody was impressed in the least by OC and despise these owners, but it wasn't even brought up that not renewing was an option.

They aren't 'Rovers Fans' or 'SuperFans', just supporters who see this as a dark time, but will be there all the same.

I was on Holiday last week, so when Coyle was appoint I was enjoying the break and the weather, the people I go with were having a discussion about his appointment but at no point did any of us say we werent go even tho many of us were dissappointed by the Coyle appointment.

We are all Blackburn Rovers fans and we all want our club to be successful at all even tho we might not agree on all matters or subjects

BTW,

Chaddy - two extremes of the reason why I've stopped coming on here regularly. Shame that everytime I come on here each thread descends into them two calling each other names then others gather round.

I'm very to hear this.

Hopefully you will come on more now.

I will only discuss football matters and nothing else. If people make sly comments towards me I will just simply ignored them from this time forward now.

Can I ask youself what you think of the Coyle appointment?

Yes you came on here and said you were not going if OC was appointed. Either you're lying or trying it on.

There's a a fourth and without doubt majority group including me who will always attend matches because we will always support the team. We were supporting the team long before Venky's arrived and we will be supporting the team long after they've gone. However we also recognise the damage Venkys have done to the club. That doesn't make us "clappers" or some other silly label but pragmatists who regard staying away as damaging the club in the long term.

I've included you in 'clappers', Jim. People who will carry on "supporting the team" regardless of whether or not they are also watching the club die.

Protesters also attend too, btw.

Our opening day attendance in 1999 was 20,530.

Compare that to 12/13, which was 13,562.

You're always going to lose a % of your support when you drop down a division, but it wasn't relegation that drove thousands away. It was the manner in which we were relegated.

One word explains the difference in those two numbers.

Kean.

Khod has already address this and posted what I said. Refer to this please.

Back to the football issues not personal issues

Rovers will be looking for a new GK coach since Laurence Batty has left the club.

Coyle is looking for a new one

Chaddy, say you changed your mind but stop doing a Coyle and saying you never said it.

30th May on Twitter. 2.54pm

In a reply to the tweet "Strong chance Coyle next manager" did you not reply " better not be otherwise I won't renew my season ticket next season"?

Chaddy,

I'm not happy at all about the appointment, I can't see any benefit of it.

If I was to look at it with suspicious mind, I'd say that this is Venky's response to the venky's out campaign or they've consulted with certain agent again. If I was to look at it with an optimistic mind, I'd say it is said here that at best it's an old mates club with Irvine putting Coyle's name forward. Either way not good.

I suspect a little bit of both.

Going forward into next season my main concern is the overall fitness of the team. the improvement on Hanley last season looked to me like an overall improvement of fitness was a leading cause. Others with better knowledge say that Coyle doesn't work too heavily on fitness.

I'm hoping that Irvine and Kelly will have names that'll be scouted out previously which aren't ridiciously priced as well as a list that Lambert, Danny Graham included, wanted which are too expensive. If we are not to sell then there is a nucleus of a side which can be worked with but gettin two strikers in will be a priority.

Anyone ever had one too many, woke up the next morning and said "I'm never drinking again?" I will refer to this as a Coyle moment from now on.

People change their mind... Get over it.

But you look a bit of a prat if you continuously deny you ever said it in the first place.

What did I say on Brfcc tho?

Me and The person I talk through DM.

My twitter account isnt to do with this messageboard.

Sorry chaddy but this post is an admission that you are a wind-up merchant. You don't get to have a "BRFCS opinion" and a "Twitter opinion" that are mutually exclusive - opposite even.

Well, not if you want any credibility.

It shows that you simply see yourself as having a persona on here and that anything "chaddyrovers" posts cannot be considered an opinion worthy of discussion.

I don't expect you will understand this concept so I'll try to explain in simpler terms...

This post - the one I've quoted - shows that you cannot be taken seriously.

And yet again I've made the target yet again instead of talking about the title of the thread.

Also why I cant change my mind on something after talking things through with family and friends.

I don't wind people or anything like that.

Its a football messageboard so lets discuss football issues not making personal comments and digs at each other.

Lied to threatened cheated and deceived

Hear nothing see nothing say nothing

Fantastic. Such a great album, that. Total classic. Funny, I never realised those particular lines would resonate so well with the @#/?uppery that is the V***ys reign.

"And yet again blah blah blah". Sanctimonious tears for bleedin' fears. If you're going to ignore like you say ad nauseum, just bleedin' well IGNORE IT. Acta non verba, bucko.

If you stick to the football, i'm sure the others will.

Don't dig at people and

Ignore those that dig at you,

Things will change.

You can change your mind Chaddy.

But I've sat here for a few days reading you say that you never said it and that you would definitely renew blah, blah blah when I knew you had said you weren't going If Coyle got the gig.

My initial reaction to the appointment was "that's it" but a few days later my viewpoint is beginning to soften. Going to Ewood is a social event for me which would be greatly missed and I'll have to see how I feel in a few weeks. For all my anger, I WANT Coyle to succeed and I hope he proves me wrong.

By the end of the Kean reign I knew he was only ever harmful to the club and I actually wasn't bothered if we lost as wins kept him in the job. For that reason, that going to Ewood was horrible because part of me felt that wins were actually damaging the future of the club, I stopped going. Different scenario here.

You didnt say youd duscussed it and changed your mind though. We all get caught out occasionally. I remember Gordon finding a post where i said id signed the facebook petition against the appointment of allardyce when i said i hadnt. Id genuinely forgotten id done it. I thought it was one of those things i went to do and backed out of, something i do often. I write lots of posts here that i then delete before posting and i thought i had nt signed the petition. I did it once. Not again. The problem with your posts is that you keep jumping on bandwagon after bandwagon. Try writing the post and giving yourself time before actually posting it. I find your posts very annoying so i put you on ignore but everyone quotes you so it doesnt work. Is there a way to ignore quotes of ignored posters too?
