jw_ Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 "Rovers Director Mike Cheston said: "We are delighted to welcome Owen to the club. We took our time and conducted a thorough search and Owen was the standout candidate." Does Cheston have an agent? The standout candidate after a thorough search?? He is either a complete novice to football, a puppet being told what to say, or his job spec had none of the criteria that a normal football manager search would have. I'd be interested to know who the "we" is, what a shambles it is now.

T J Hooker Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Poor appointment imo but its done now. Get signing some players Mr Coyle. Are you really yhat simple?
Gav Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Confirmed from the Club statement that one of the key requisites for the role was a willingness to work with Irvine and Kelly. I.e. save money. Find it hard to bring myself to wish him good luck, but he'll certainly need it after inheriting the "squad" left by Lambert. Lambert was here for just over 20wks Simon, what did you expect from Lambert in that time? He hardly had time to water the plant in his office let alone assemble a side.
matt83 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 With our absentee owners I've kind of missed having someone to direct my anger at. Coyle most definitely fits the bill.
Backroom Tom Posted June 2, 2016 Backroom Posted June 2, 2016 So people on here would have taken Joyce over Coyle? Someone who has never been a Manager? 100% yes
Amo Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 So people on here would have taken Joyce over Coyle? Someone who has never been a Manager? I wouldn't have taken any of them, tbh. All of the names were uninspired and destined to fail under this regime. However, this appointment just smacks of a big middle-finger to those who dared to speak out.
Gav Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Are you really yhat simple? Try spelling things right before calling someone else simple TJ
Backroom Tom Posted June 2, 2016 Backroom Posted June 2, 2016 New low for the telegraph with this article title and a biased selection of tweets 'Let's get behind the new manager' - Blackburn Rovers fans react to Owen Coyle appointment lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/14532633 http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/14532633._Let_s_get_behind_the_new_manager____Blackburn_Rovers_fans_react_to_Owen_Coyle_appointment/
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Totally insane appointment. That's me finished after 55 years. Thanks to all the posters on here I've discussed Rovers issues with over the years. Good Luck for the future all of you. Over and out.
JohnD Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 An awful appointment. I've been on a Boycott for two seasons but that's it for me, no interest in the club whatsoever.
Stuart Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Whichever way you look at it, whether #CoyleOut or "Give him a chance FFS" this is yet another appointment which will DIVIDE the fanbase. It's not even a straightforward debate about him being a good or bad manager, even though you'd have to lean towards bad - it's the B-word and the S-word thrown in. You really have to wonder if keeping the fanbase at odds with each other is part of the strategy so as to ensure that we will never be taken seriously. Ignoring personalities, there is an argument that Venkys are worse owners than the Oyston's given that they have a promotion and stadium improvements in their 'pros' column. Venkys have nothing but 'cons' in all of the 5-and-a-half years. The only bright spot, an alleged personal investment - which paid off - and even that wasn't universally accepted, with the nearly-effort that was to bring in Lambert but then not back him as he understood that he would. Take that away and you only have negatives. Venkys lasting legacy at this club will be to erase Jack Walker's legacy - completely. Worst. Owners. Ever. #VenkysOut

A cup of beans Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Warren Joyce seems like a dream appointment, compared to what we've ended up with.
yoda Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 So people on here would have taken Joyce over Coyle? Someone who has never been a Manager? Stupid post, the majority wanted a real manager, wake up FFS
Crimpshrine Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I think Venky's enjoyed the power they held when fans were demanding the sacking of SK. They got sympathy from other football club managers, Sky pundits, other owners. They were encouraged to stick to their guns. They knew they had power over the fans. I'm sure there were also corrupt reasons for sticking with SK, SEM/Kentaro. I think they want that siuation back. I think they want us to show us our discontent so they can claim unfair hostility towards them when they are "funding the club"! They want to create a battle mentality hoping that they get the upper hand. They want a fight, we should give it to them. So Angry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Venky's out

perthblue02 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 No surprise the LT is going along the happy clappy route , there will be an advertising campaign coming up from Rovers $$$$$$$$$$$
Speedie Dived Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 So people on here would have taken Joyce over Coyle? Someone who has never been a Manager? What is about Coyle you are liking?
unsall Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Totally insane appointment. That's me finished after 55 years. Thanks to all the posters on here I've discussed Rovers issues with over the years. Good Luck for the future all of you. Over and out. We've made a few insane appointments in those 55 years, did you stop going when Iley,Kidd,Ince,KEANE,Berg,Appleton was appointed, what's the big difference now?
Gav Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Warren Joyce seems like a dream appointment, compared to what we've ended up with. Its just a side show, doesn't matter who the manager is we're doomed until those idiots in Pune leave. It also goes to show what we all thought, that a certain agency and its fat spiv former founder are still very much involved.
Speedie Dived Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/14532633._Let_s_get_behind_the_new_manager____Blackburn_Rovers_fans_react_to_Owen_Coyle_appointment/ WHAT IS THE LOCAL PAPER PLAYING AT 99% POLL ON HERE DONT WANT HIM AS MANAGER Christ. This is too much. It's not a local paper anymore. Wont exist in a few years, be online only. You should try taking out advertising with them, levels of incompetence i have never come across before. Quite impressive really. No surprise the LT is going along the happy clappy route , there will be an advertising campaign coming up from Rovers $$$$$$$$$$$ We don't have any money for one.
