[Archived] What To Do

Recommended Posts

The primary reason I suffered under the Scottish @#/? was spending time with my mum at the football. Go to the matches with your dad. Go to every one you can.

I'm not renewing. But I would in a heartbeat if an aging family member wanted my help support and company.

Venkys Out.

100% family before Rovers

Why not put the money you would have spent on an ST, on a few away games?

Get your Rovers fix but give Venkys nothing.

He want's to retain his seat. I can sympathise with that. I too have a good seat that I don't want to give up. I'm not even sure I can manage the steps I need to get up and down but I will probably renew and transfer to another seat or not go until I recover sufficiently to take up my old seat and renew my aquaintances with my friends in the surrounding area.

Entirely up to you Stuart. I don't have a family to take with me. Just a husband who's even more adamant than I am that he's not going. Choice is yours.

Well if you want to sit with us in the family stand, let me know.

don't currently want to attend myself either, but thanks for the offer. I like to sit higher up and if I were going to get a ticket it would have to be in the jw upper where I really do not want to sit.

Which is why you're subjecting them to that torture next season?

I'm calling the NSPCC.

How young kids view Rovers:

Fans < Team

(It's a privilege to go to watch them)

How juniors view Rovers:

Fans < Team < Manager

(It's a fan club that I'm part of where I get to spend time with dad).

How teens view Rovers:

Fans < Team < Manager > Venkys

(It's a niche club that I'm part of. I can separate on-field from off-field and enjoy one and ignore the other).

How adults view Rovers:

Fans > Team < Manager < Board < Venkys

(All clubs have problems - I will decide whether or not to go based on many factors - but I generally hate Venkys and what they've done).

How BRFCS posters view Rovers:

Fans > Team + Agents trying to screw the club over > crap ex-dingle Manager + Agent trying to screw the club over < Agents pulling the strings > Board > Venkys < Agents trying to screw the club over

(I hate virtually everything about the club - I feel guilty about supporting them - but I'm still utterly obsessed with all things Rovers).

Kids have a much better deal.

They are all a bunch of nice people who sit near me in the Jack Walker Upper gumboots. You would be a welcome addition. Let me know if you want to know where we sit. :)

Why. We are OK supporters there.

Nothing against the people who sit there but it would cost me quite a bit more to sit in a stand i don't want to sit in. I used to sit there with schoolchildren at one time and I didn't like the view. I know they put tv cameras on the side of the ground so it should be a good view but cameras are not fixed - they turn. I like sitting at the end because almost without moving my head I can see the whole pitch. It's what you get used to. apart from the brief spell taking schoolkids I've always, for nearly 50 years, watched matches from the end and I'm used to the view. From the Holgate End at Ayresome to the Blackburn End here.

I used to watch from the Blackburn End but I think you get a much better view from the side. I think that you lose perspective when play is at the far end from behind the goals. Just my opinion of course.

Yes as I said it's what you're used to. I appreciate the view must actually be better from the side or why would managers sit there, but it doesn't feel right.

Good point. I think tradition, and possibly the rule book, is the only reason. The best place for a manager to sit would be the BBE upper tier, with somebody on the touchline to send the subs on.

Didn't Big Same do that for a time with us, or am I mistaken? I'm sure I remember only Neil McDonald on the touchline for 3 or 4 games.

I imagine I'll be joining Stuart and co In the new family stand.

Reserved some seats a while back and whilst I'm still undecided as time passes I think I will more than likely be there.

Maybe I'm part of the wider issue but anger subsides and at the end of the day you just fancy going to watch the football! None of us should be apologetic for that.

Fans will never be part of the wider issue, others may hold an opinion that watching is an endorsement of the ownership but I strongly disagree.

I think the longer things carry on the way they are, nearly everyone at some stage will reach their tipping point with regards to jacking it in.

What the final straw would be for me I don't know, perhaps if they closed the area I sit (Darwen End) as despite the football I enjoy it & have a good laugh in there. I renewed against my better judgement, but for how much longer I don't know. I've already decided that the £299 season ticket fee will be the only money they get from me... No merchandise, concourse, cup games etc.
