T J Hooker Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I know we all think we are football managers but Feeney was with us for a month last time round and barely played. As Iv said before I live around a lot of Bolton fans who take great pride in laughing at us whenever possible...I can honestly say not a single one has a bad word to say about Feeney. They REALLY rate him in fact and they're not backwards in coming forwards with their criticism of their players...they reckon he's been their best player by a country mile...maybe we should chill out and give this guy a chance? I agree with you totally on this, but just to play devils advocate... we have fans that will tell you that they think Lowe is one of our best players and wont have a bad word to say about him.

pick32 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Berbatov is in talks with two championship clubs, has to be Newcastle and Villa. What a signing he will be for this division.

He barely played because he wasn't good enough so we now employ a gobbin in Coyle and suddenly he's OK sorry you along with him and Coyle can go and do one asap from Rovers.
tomphil Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Get the Yak back on loan and pair him with Graham who can do his running. Stokes to come on for one or the other when legs are tiring. With world beater Feeney supplying the balls what can go wrong. With Coyles connections being Keanesque it might be doable ! Anyone think Coyle is talking his signings up a little too much like his bald brother ????

Come on, what's he expected to do say 'I've bought this new bloke and I'm fairly convinced he's going to be a bag of s**te'.........
BlueMonday Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Come on, what's he expected to do say 'I've bought this new bloke and I'm fairly convinced he's going to be a bag of s**te'......... He's over egging it and given the history thats not a good idea.
Doaksie Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Come on, what's he expected to do say 'I've bought this new bloke and I'm fairly convinced he's going to be a bag of s**te'......... Mick McCarthy on signing Feeney last year: "He can play either side, hes got real pace, he can stretch the team, stretch the pitch and hes an experienced Championship player, so thats a good one for us that. Coyle hailed him as an "outstanding player" One of them is a realist, and one is attempting to redefine hyperbole. I'll let you pick.

Best player by a country mile for a team that was relegated to league one with barely a whimper, pardon me if I'm not overly excited.
Backroom DE. Posted June 30, 2016 Backroom Posted June 30, 2016 Berbatov is in talks with two championship clubs, has to be Newcastle and Villa. What a signing he will be for this division. Not convinced he'll be suited to the Championship tbh. He's just finished a spell with PAOK where he scored 4 in 17 and was released after a single season. Matt Derbyshire scored more than that in the Greek league. A big gamble on big wages.

My Bolton mates say the same. I wasn't a fan when he was here, but he has a bit of pace which is what we've been sadly lacking for a few seasons now. I'll give him a chance.
The Rover of Finland Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I bet Feeney is a better player for us on this level than Andrews was for PL. We need pace and sounds like the guy has it. Any word of Wes Brown?
adsfortheblues Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Berbatov is in talks with two championship clubs, has to be Newcastle and Villa. What a signing he will be for this division. Newcastle and Forest are the teams trying to sign him mate.

bob fleming Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 This a joke? Berba in the Championship!? Haha I literally can't think of a single player less suited to that league than him!! Chris Brown?
frosty Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Matt Derbyshire scored more than that Speaking of Derbyshire, bagged a Europa League winner for his new Cypriot team tonight, didn't realise he'd gone out there.
tomphil Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Come on, what's he expected to do say 'I've bought this new bloke and I'm fairly convinced he's going to be a bag of s**te'......... Yeah of course he is......... Talking them up is to be expected it's what they all do. However he needs to remember he isn't selling sand to Arabs he's talking about unproven young lads and lower Championship ageing journeymen.
Gav Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 The same Duffy who we criticise for dropping major clangers, being out of position, gifting penalties, heading over when it's easier to score and costing us results? Sounds good money to me. Some of us can see that Duffy has all the attributes to be a quality center back, bit like Scott Dann, hammered on here by the clueless majority but probably on the road to bigger and better things. £2m for Duffy is about £2m below his value.

Absolutely I'm going to judge Coyle on results, but only for as long as plays the game, comments like this are not helping his case. “What I do know is that Liam Feeney is now an outstanding player. Liam Feeney was the desire of many clubs in the Championship"

Liam Feeney was the desire of many clubs in the Championship" As a boycotter, I dip in, as I'm still a Rovers supporter. Of course we should see results and we are a while away from the first fixture. I take with some pinch of salt OC's comments, as he would be foolish to play down his transfer business. Other than Graham, I am underwhelmed. The team hasn't played a game yet. Bigger spending teams are going to go big.....more will happen in the month to come, and I can't believe it will be all positive. I think other players who we would want to stay may not.

We'll be lucky to finish outside the relegation places PBW, sad but true in my opinion. Posters say don't be negative, give him a chance, we've signed some good players so far? well we haven't really, Graham is ok, but wouldn't have got a game 6yrs ago, the rest are squad players at best. We need to get real.

Give it a rest Gav, he's long gone and people just said what they saw. You liked him which is fair enough but a lot of other people didnt... For good reason.
