Interesting you say that because Ryan Taylor has actually called Coyle about coming to Rovers. Dont be suprised if he comes on trial.

Is that how we work now? Can I call for a trial?

Must be mates...

I have no idea if Powell is or isnt considering but an offer has been made to him. Would be pleased if he joined, there's a player in there with ability, if Coyle can ger him to apply himself then he'd be an asset.

Taylor has been so unlucky. It was really heart breaking to see how he was injured again when making comeback last season. He used to be easily good enough for the Championship but all the injuries has spoiled his career.

Powell sounds like possible target. His greatest moments were at Wigan under Coyle. He never turned out to be the £6M player but is still only 22 years old. We really should snap him if he wants to come.

He must have been released from Reading at only 27 for a reason? There have been plenty of players who did well in an international tournament but struggled to achieve a great deal domestically.

Still after a left back and a striker are we not then see about replacing anyone who moves on.

Its looking like we are just after a left back and striker at the minute according to Alan Nixon.

going to give Steele and Raya to impressed him during pre season and the same with the right back slot with Marshall, Lowe and Henley fighting it out to play there

So far, theres very little to be positive about.....

the club still has poor goalkeepers on its books!

poor full backs !

non existant midfield so maybe Corry Evans could be used to generate some transfer funds....oops my mistake!! it goes into other people's pockets!

there's only one decent wide player in Ben Marshall !

but the two new lads upfront along with the two centre backs are OK.

It's nowhere near enough to be successful and this is before they take the money out for any of the remaining positives.

If Duffy only has one year left then they was never looking to extend his contract unless there's nobody willing to take the big error riddled centre back on.

nothing to positive about?

Really we have signed a quality striker in Graham and plus a highly rated midfielder in Byrne.

Rhodes money ?

probably spent some on Graham, Gomez, Grimes loans and wages?

Palace confirmed new goalie. We should be pushing a losn deal for McCarthy. He is PL standard but obviously not getting chances at Palace.

Alex McCarthy would be good but I think Ive seen him linked with other PL teams

The Northern Ireland goalkeeper is available on a free

Michael McGovern?

United have just released Lindegaard.

Is he any better than Steele?

I would deffo look at bring in Lindegaard in and loan Raya out to get better and more experience

Free transfers are always a big risk. On the surface of it Guthrie was a very good signing. At his best he was better than we had by a long shot. Lesson to be learned is avoid those who have been released for fitness reasons. For a player to rediscover form they have to be fit to do so. Doesn't matter how good they've been. If they can't get on the pitch then it's not worth the risk. Nowadays, in our situation, that's almost as reckless as chucking huge money at players like Best.

James Vaughan on a pay as you play type deal as his injury record isn't great??

Simon Cox, Hal Robson Kanu, Chris Burke and whatever happened to Luciano Becchio. See he's been released too.

Becchio stood out for me as well but did not realise his age.. Cox is a decent shout, but no to Burke and Kanu is out of our ball park sadly, I know allot of Norwich fans who wanted him when they where premiership.

Vaughan is ok.. he will not want a pay as you go deal though.. lol

He's got Talent but he's off the field big time Charly attitude is why he hasn't progressed

Tbh heard the same he'd been offered a deal by brfc

He has been, come from a reliable source. I think given the fact he's performed for Coyle that it makes 100% sense. We need young players that can develop and be assets for us, especially on a free.

Then again everything is a gamble these days, you can pay big old fees for players who simply don't turn up, just look at some of those premier league transfers last year and some of those we have paid fees for in the last 15 years... Some players just don't fit in but some relish being given a chance, the likes of Graham, Salgado, and Friedel spring to mind as freebies.

I wouldn't have said so. Am sure I remember saying at the time, an injury-ravaged player released by Reading is a waste of a squad space and so it's turned out to be. We do seem to enjoy signing crocks though.

It's good they are still looking for a back up striker as it was ridiculous how the previous 2 managers etc have let it come to nearly going into this season with NO strikers at all. Pathetic really it's no wonder us fans think we can be managers at times when common sense seems so thin on the ground.

Personally I'd be looking for a young striker from somewhere as well for further back up seeing as we don't seem to have of any note at academy level.

Hoilett could be a great player if stayed with us. Even though Kean was here the time was good for Junior.

He was only interested in his 65k pwk and is another young player almost ruined by money like Bentley. Wouldn't be surprised to see him pack it in soon if no one chucks another mega contract at him in return for expecting very little.

I cannot abide guys like him they highlight everything that's wrong with the game in England and everything Giggs was on about the other night. They don't earn the right to this kind of money they just get given it.
