[Archived] Summer Transfer/discussion Thread

I've already tried to cover this. Ironically in a bid to keep the transfer thread clean and stop descending into spats (and it's not just me who is frustrated by it - some well respected posters too).

Genuine transfer news and speculation in one thread - and Twittle-Twattle in another (including Nixon so as not to glorify him).

It's not weird at all. Nixon is a known entity and has history. He infuriates by teasing, chatting @#/? and then say "oh, somebody changed their mind" - because he is never wrong.

Now we have the additional frustration - since he went into self-imposed exile - of a groupie only posting what he says.

But clearly I'm in the minority and this IS what BRFCS has become and this is the kind of content that is wanted by the site - as confirmed by the 'consensus of the mods' - so I'll put Chaddy on ignore now and you are welcome to him.

HALLELUJAH!!! Although you can clearly see chaddy posts content OTHER than what Nixon says.

Not now, mind. Not now you've finally found the ignore facility.

I don't even think that the cash is the breaker Ricky. Would you join up with the level of clusterf@@k that we have become?

Away at Boro in Feb, a total stranger started talking to me and his acent was clearly from the Nothe East. I initially thought he was a Boro fan but he said he was actually a Sunderland fan.

He was there really to support his best mates, Danny Graham & Ben Marshall. He usually watched matches with Graham's family but wanted to see the lads in action from the stands rather than the box they had at Boro.

I had no reason to disbelieve him, and he obviously could have been on the wind up, but the things he was asking me and talking about certainly would have an elaborate hoax for no reason.

Anyhow, he said Graham was already very happy at Rovers and was desperate to prove himself to get either preferably a permanent move to us or at least find someone else he could get a full contract with.

So in February he was very much keen on staying at Ewood. But things may have changed with everything that's been going on!

Yes it was.

But my point that Nixon says Fulham are interested in Marshall not that he was joining them.

That's been doing the rounds since April think it broke in the daily star on Sunday

The Marshall/Fulham link was another non-starter that went quiet quickly. That's Nixons problem. For every 1 that comes off there are 10 that don't.

If he's so close to Coyle, why didn't he break that story about his appointment. The bookies had stopped taking bets and it was rife on here before he started acting all smug about it.

He very rarely says things "will happen" so that he can wriggle out when it doesn't.

Football can change very quickly and nothing is ever done until paperwork is done.

Alot of rumours and speculation happens.

No surprise that Fulham are interest in Marshall.

I'd take Hibbert, Osman, Brown and maybe Anichebe as well as Graham.

Powell Konchesky Graham Fletcher have all played this level and all would improve us , but again as mentioned signing on fee's and wages will be the stumbling block ,

Not sure if Our current manager did sign fletcher or not but he certainly got promoted with him , and the winger who's been released by Fulham Kalcnli-what's-his-face .. I'm sure OCM had him at Burnley too didn't he

I think Osman, Hibbert and Brown are too old for the Championship.

I wouldnt be signing any players over 28 years old apart from Danny Graham.

Hibbert to rotate with Henley, Brown to add cover at CB, Osman would enhance our midfield in terms of ability. Plus they'd all add vast experience.
