Al Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Hence the Twitter rumour thread suggestion. But Nixon specifically has history on this board. He was one of Kean's biggest defenders. He is also crap and predicting but never wrong. Some people want to read his postings and some really, really don't. I'm not trying to restrict posting but asking that it is separate to allow this to be ignored (given the failings of the ignore facility) and keep threads on track. Ironic, eh. I don't think it's too much to ask for Nixon posts to be on the Nixon thread.

T J Hooker Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 i haven't seen any nixon quotes, all I'm seeing is you constantly whinging over something that's relatively trivial(seriously there's page after page of you and chuddy going on like punch&judy) and any titbits of gossip and rumours are just getting lost amongst it, How you're still around after your obsessive stalking of chaddy and contributing zero of anything else is beyond me.
Backroom Mike E Posted June 11, 2016 Backroom Posted June 11, 2016 I'm going to try to see past your threat, Mike. Myself and Al (and others) have made a very reasonable request: Why can Nixon quotes - which are harming the messageboard - not be separated from the transfer thread? Because Nixon quotes are relevant to 'The transfer thread'. End of. As for 'threat', it's a 'threat' you signed up for when you joined this forum. The 'threat' won't be there if you stop fixaating on trying to stop another member posting or getting them banned. It's the equivalent of a footballer flashing a pretend card at the ref, trying to get an oppo player booked after you've dived.
Hasta Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Ok. Let's let the proven liar continue to post the proven guesser's made up tittle tattle.
Backroom Mike E Posted June 11, 2016 Backroom Posted June 11, 2016 Ok. Let's let the proven liar continue to post the proven guesser's made up tittle tattle. Exactly. Those who wish to ignore them or read them can do so at their leisure. As is the case every post on here. As long as it's rovers-related transfer gossip, there's no issue.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Nixon has a 0.1% strike rate. Any idiot can see that? Can we add a filter like we had with Kean?
mustard Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 I posted within the guidelines that are set. Wind people up? I posted my opinions and nothing more. This is the transfer thread and surely thats where the gossip/rumours should go. Whether its from Twitter or Media outlets shouldnt matter. Some people dont have Twitter but still want to know about the gossip or rumours. Tbf Chaddy, you told Al to give it a rest when he disagreed with your ludicrous comment about players over 28. I think the criticism you get on here is sometimes harsh, but when you talk bobbins people are going to disagree with you. They shouldn't be told to give it a rest for calling you out on it. IMO players around 26-30 are exactly what we need in some positions. We are lacking calm heads and a bit of experience is a necessity. Avoiding players looking for their last payday is one thing, but ruling out most of the 'in their prime' market is folly.

I could say a lot about why you are still around after what you post but I'll restrain myself in this instance.

When we got promoted last time, for every Duff, Dunn and Jansen there was a Berg, Short, Flitty and McAteer. The disaster that was Murphy / Etuhu has scared us away from those type of players. However Danny Graham proved that lower Premier League journeymen can be incredibly effective in this league.
Mani Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 I'm going to try to see past your threat, Mike. Myself and Al (and others) have made a very reasonable request: Why can Nixon quotes - which are harming the messageboard - not be separated from the transfer thread? Harming the message board? Really? You're a grown man right? Why don't you simply ignore it in the way ignore 90% of the knuckle draggers on here?
Hasta Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Exactly. Those who wish to ignore them or read them can do so at their leisure. As is the case every post on here. As long as it's rovers-related transfer gossip, there's no issue. Cool. Can I fill the thread by keep posting "I heard last night we are in for xxxxxx" 3 times a day, making up different names each time. In my view, that's exactly what's happening.

You have now condoned posters' rights to be WUMs. This must surely go against what modding is about. On the strength of your reply, I'm adding you to my ignore list, Mike. No hard feelings.
chaddyrovers Posted June 11, 2016 Author Posted June 11, 2016 So Rovers have one permanent deal done for a player(done yesterday) and closing in on a loan player today. From Alan Nixon Ive posted the tweet in the Transfer link page

mustard Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Cool. Can I fill the thread by keep posting "I heard last night we are in for xxxxxx" 3 times a day, making up different names each time. In my view, that's exactly what's happening. Tbf, I don't mind when there's a "I heard we are in for _____" with a legitimate name posted and don't understand why people get wound up. Could be bull, could be real-life, so it's interesting. It's when there's a "I heard we are in for a few names but N***o can't say who" that it becomes infuriating. It's just pointless. I could tell you how we are looking at a few players and I'm not a bloody journalist. Just simple intuition. Any club with sixteen first teamers should be looking at a few players to say the least. Unless in these twitter-bits of info from big Al there is a link made to an actual name based on actual possible evidence, it is ultimately useless. When it comes to fellow posters, a bit of speculation is one thing e.g. "we should look at _____ as he's out of contract", it makes sense to contribute to a messageboard, but picking out any name off Football Manager is just tedious to say the least (and don't get me wrong, I love FM).
J*B Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Will Keane is tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurd.Your defence is terrified...

From Alan Nixon Ive posted the tweet in the Transfer link page Well he sounds sure, interested to see who it is as the first deal sets the bar
Hasta Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Team with only 16 players about to sign a player shocker. I know we are going to sign at least 4 players before the start of the season. I know who they are but I cant possibly name them though.
LDRover Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 And at least one of them is being brought in to score goals.
JAL Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Hibbert to rotate with Henley, Brown to add cover at CB, Osman would enhance our midfield in terms of ability. Plus they'd all add vast experience. Experience ? They simply have to better than the opposition and be able to make a stronger team . So just why are their clubs getting rid ?
Mercer Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 If speculation is correct then plenty of activity, let's hope it's not headless chicken stuff. Calibre of first signing or two will be very interesting. Friend who is a Preston fan reckons they've got Spurr in the bag. Noise about Hanley being offski not abating.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 11, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted June 11, 2016 Experience ? They simply have to better than the opposition and be able to make a stronger team . So just why are their clubs getting rid ? Because they're all in the Premiership JAL.

unsall Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Still expect a Man Unt youngster to join us shortly!!!!!!

I would be happy if we signed some hungry players who are on the up.We seem to have had a real emphasis on bringing in British players recently. Are there any foreign players out there who could make a difference. Nelsen and Samba were virtual unknowns before they came here. All depends on wages really.
