The trouble is that having given that interview outlining what they wanted the new manager to be and do, then to appoint the opposite and sign players who don't fit the bill, makes him look quite foolish. His options are to walk out, citing his position as untenable and not wanting to lose his reputation, or keep his trap shut and take their coin.

Feeney is a a brilliant signing. Apart from the facts his legs have gone, he can't cross/kick a ball properly and never took a man on when he was here we have got a belter on our hands.

Surely we could offer them better prospects/terms than their existing clubs

And here's a couple more names for midfield - Hourihane of Barnsley and Siva of Arsenal (on loan at Bolton last season)
