chaddyrovers Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Still would like to see us go for Fletcher and Graham. Play them up front with Stokes in behind, Conway and Marshall on the wings, and Evans sitting deep. Why not hey. attack attack attack Steele Henley Duffy Hanley LB Evans Marshall Conway Stokes Fletcher Graham Really? This isnt football manager. Henley isnt good enough and midfield is far too weak

Iceman Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Really? This isnt football manager. Henley isnt good enough and midfield is far too weak Chaddy when you mention "this isnt football manager" I dont know what to say now, with that coming from you.
Backroom Tom Posted June 17, 2016 Backroom Posted June 17, 2016 It was honestly a genuine query, as it was said in context as one of the striker Coyle was after, I thought maybe I had missed something that's all. But yes, in my opinion we are not missing out at all, haha. I'm not sure we were ever after him
Blue Cabbage Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I've always maintained Evans has yet to produce his best for us, I rate him, needs a consistent partner in the middle with him
patrickvalery Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I've always maintained Evans has yet to produce his best for us, I rate him, needs a consistent partner in the middle with him Agree. More than anything he needs to stay fit and playing. Think there's a good little in there. Not talking about premier league level. One of those players who doesn't stand out but in a good side helps keep possession and carries out what the manager wants of him. Never going to grab the headlines but football is littered with players like that.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 We don't need a striker. Remember? We were told once that rotten apple Rhodes was sold the rest of the team would flourish and crack in goal after goal after goal. We don't need another slow striker.
Iceman Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 We don't need another slow striker. We don't need a quick striker that cant score goals either.
donnermeat Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I'm not sure we were ever after him I certainly hope not.

patrickvalery Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 We don't need a fast, slow, fat, thin, black, white, shaven, unshaven or even bespectacled striker. What we need is 11 players who can beat the opposition 11 more often than not. I'm sorry, I loved Rhodes, but den was absolutely correct. If one man and his hefty wages and limited game meant he shone and the side didn't, then something had to give. I said it before but it's true. Rhodes was the cherry on top. Sadly we had nothing for Rhodes to sit on top of.

Pedro Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I've always maintained Evans has yet to produce his best for us, I rate him, needs a consistent partner in the middle with himI rate him too. He looked a good player when Lambert was in charge.
Stuart Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Agree. More than anything he needs to stay fit and playing. Think there's a good little in there. Not talking about premier league level. Never going to grab the headlines but football is littered with players like that. A bit like Jason Lowe but with a tackle in him.
patrickvalery Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 A bit like Jason Lowe but with a tackle in him. That's just plain nasty Stuart.
Backroom Tom Posted June 18, 2016 Backroom Posted June 18, 2016 I don't think anyone wants to see Jason Lowe with a tackle in him
ABBEY Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 We don't need a striker. Remember? We were told once that rotten apple Rhodes was sold the rest of the team would flourish and crack in goal after goal after goal.indeed we was brother indeed we was No it wasn't. People said if Rhodes was sold and the proceeds were used on the team it could improve us. As it turns out, they weren't and we've got a paper thin squad.... And how many predicted the predicament? Are the Rhodes is @#/? brigade happy now ? I don't think anyone wants to see Jason Lowe with a tackle in himRonaldo would Professional graffiti remover arrives in Burnley! Please tell me it's true
47er Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 My memory must be failing me again! I thought we scored more goals and looked a more attacking team once Rhodes left. As to the money, anyone who thought the money would be available for new players hasn't studied Venkys properly. It went back to Balaji who bought him I reckon. And he was always going to have it. If he hadn't sold him when he did, he would have sold him in the summer. The same will happen for players of lesser value than Rhodes. 11 Feeneys is what we will end up with.
Stuart Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I don't think anyone wants to see Jason Lowe with a tackle in himNow, now children.Oh and whoosh @ me!

A couple more alleged to be announced next week. Anyone who's observed how V's work will know there will absolutely be a sale of some sort to cover these incomings even though they are frees & loans. Then there will likely be another one to go towards servicing the debt and running costs OR slither away to silent investors as their unofficial divi.
Gav Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I don't think Coyles going to struggle to attract players if he can match their wage demands. Stokes can't say enough good things about him, i think he's a players manager as has been said on here previously, bit like Bowyer. Its his managerial ability that's in question, as it was with Bowyer and we know how that turned out.
den Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I think our 'goals for' column would disagree with you there, den, but I for one can't be arsed with another Rhodes debate. Nor me to be honest, but if people keep bringing him up and coming up with untruths it's only fair to correct them. The " goals for column" improved after he left.
tomphil Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 He does seem half decent at recruiting under a budget but as said turning it into a decent unit is another thing. Someone like Stokes though isn't a bad bet from the recruiters point of view even if they've upped the wages a bit. At 27 if he scores a good few this season someone might take a punt on him for a million or two. I'm sure that thinking came into it.
