Someone I know who works in football (in Scotland) seems to think we are getting an Arsenal midfield lad on loan. It was something he'd overheard and I know that is third hand gossip and without even a name attached to it, so hardly 'information', but has anyone from that club been mentioned on here before?

That could well be who he means then. Don't know too much about the lad - it certainly wouldn't be classed as 'amazing' (or whatever term Nixon used) as he was at Barnsley fairly recently.

Edit. You beat me to it dallydally

Look, I've kept out of this to avoid petty squabbles so please don't bring me into it. Nixon and Chaddy have indeed bigged up this PL loan so somebody who will improve the first team is expected.

All that said, despite me remaining quiet, Chaddy has continued to make the thread meaningless by posting exclusive Nixon BS with full support and encouragement for the mods.

But surely we've not descended so far as to not stifle ANY non-Nixon-generated posts, have we?

There's no full support of anything Stuart, if anything we let more stuff go than many would care to admit. Scroll right by stuff that starts to annoy you, or look to the 'fresh start' thread for guidance if anything is unclear. That goes for anyone.

That we are actually in discussions and possibly getting things done in june is a positive for me - was half expecting august to roll around with no strikers and half a team...

An amazing midfield player in the context of Rovers would be someone better than Lowe, Williamson, Evans, Guthrie et al. So can he run, tackle, pass/dribble and stay fit for longer than a month then that would be pretty f****** amazing based on our previous attempts at recruiting midfielders :P

It's like bloody Groundhog Day

Yep - another Sunday, more Nixon tittle tattle trying to sell our players and replace them with loanees.

And chaddy's contribution hidden again so it looks one-sided.

would prefer Pritchard or Pareirra over Crowley

Think I'd prefer Mr Crowley. Then I can sing "Mr Crowley, what went on in your head?" Whenever he makes a mistake. No one will know what I'm on about (apart from Abbey, who won't be there anyway).

If you read between the lines Nixon scribbles about this loan lad you can see its someone who will be disappointing to most but has a pretty highlight reel so he must be good.....

Crowley seems likely as was muted last week.

I agree kfc, its appears that we will have 6 players in for pre season and that is a lot better than last season when the start of business was done in last week of July/August.

I hope Lowe plays at right back this season. feel this his best position

trying to sell our players? Sheff Wed have an interest in Hanley. that's what he has reported

But again Stuart it is who has made me the story yet again on Sunday instead of discussing transfers

In the middle of all this point scoring and bickering klc makes a very good point.

We moan year on year that the club leaves its business until the very last minute, but it seems like Coyle is bucking that trend and getting his targets in early, all credit to him for that.

Just so I am clear, if Alan Nixon is the only journalist who's written anything about our possible ins and outs, can we post it? I guess the Mail article is OK on the West Ham fullback? Is there a list of journalists we're not allowed to discuss?

I think we need some concise guidance on what's allowed here. Because it's getting a little confusing.

yet again Stuart you are making the story instead of talking transfers and having good discussions between members.

you may not like Nixon but he is very close to Coyle and he will know who we are after.

I am here to talk about Rovers and football news not to get anything else.

You can guarantee that it won't be anyone with any experience or pedigree.

It's so obvious that we are now begging for scraps and the annoyance is Nixon trying to put sugar in the arsenic and becoming all indignant when we still don't like the taste.

His constant hullabaloo, in response to constant haranguing, is causing constant heartache.

Gav, I can say that Owen Coyle is working very hard on transfers and talking to different clubs about possible loans. Look at Hull where Steve Bruce future is still very unclear. no plans have been make there. or Southampton where they still haven't appointed a new manager yet

:blink::blink:

You've "Kept out of this".... have a word with yourself.

You're like a dog with a bone regarding Chaddy & Nixon.

You remind me of one of those blokes who always kicks off trouble then blends into the background when the resultant punch-up kicks off and leaves the pub without a mark on him.
