Spalding Rover Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 No bowyer wasn't playing but he ruined many of games, use your head thats the best response you could come back with after your bullish*t stats.

den Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 With respect den, Graham was here for 4 months, to compare his record to Rhodes is insulting posters intelligence. and with respect Gav, I'm just giving you some facts as to what actually happened when we sold our ridiculously priced £11m man. The teams performances and goal scoring actually improved. Be honest mate, for us, in our current position, to be even debating bringing him back is either sour grapes or lunacy. It makes no sense either financially or factually. Move on. He's gone and he hasn't been missed for one minute of any game.
Stuart Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Mate, it isn't about me having it in for him. I'm telling you what coaches and players were saying about him, openly. His finishing is TOP drawer but unfortunately strikers are expected to do so much more now. So yeah, they would stand open mouthed whilst he failed again and again to simply trap a ball and lay it off... I don't want him back. We've all moved on. FYI - everyone liked Jordan. He's a great guy by all accounts. Yet I watched him from the side of the pitch every home game and during the game - with my own eyes. Some people are desperate to be proved right on this one. But as the saying goes: give it a rest FFS.

Fantasy thinking by anyone who vocalises that. I also think there is loads of sour grapes out there; can't believe some of the dross I have read criticising his contribution over several seasons. Fans can be so crass at times
Backroom Tom Posted June 19, 2016 Backroom Posted June 19, 2016 But as the saying goes: give it a rest FFS. Could we all just do this maybe? That or we could get back to the real issue, I'm not sure we ever did resolve the King of biscuits debate.
Neal Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Oh great, another Rhodes debate. A player that isn't ours, hasn't been linked and won't be coming... Complete waste of time.
booth Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Haha so Boro are trying to move Rhodes on? I have to say I'm unsurprised. It's pretty difficult watching him in training everyday struggling to do the most simple drills, unable to make 5yrd passes...the lads whispering and laughing at him. Painful for managers. Karanka obv sees what many others do...a league 2 footballer with the finishing prowess of Jermain Defoe. I don't want him back. People in glass houses?!
JAL Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Another thread wrecked again!!! Another season wrecked again by the sound of it !!!!! !
dallydally Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Back to the issue. There needs to be some positive news of more signings this week. One capture is hardly ground breaking and quality is far more important than quantity
Mani Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Whilst being very average in general football terms no way was he as bad as you make out and I'd say some of it was probably just banter knowing how much wedge he was alleged to be on. If the managers and coaches your referring to are Short & Bowyer, and I think they are, well that speaks volumes if you look where they are now and the complete pigs ear they made of it with the best squad we've had since relegation. Admittedly they more or less built it but Jordan Rhodes pulled their arse and the teams out of more holes in his time here than pricks in a dartboard. By the way just what is your agenda in regards BRFC ? No agenda here mate. I'm a Rovers fan. Always amazes me how people claim to want to hear real info until it doesn't suit their own ideas on a situation and then they rubbish it. Rhodes is a world class finisher but the rest of his games sits in league 1 or 2. Forget Gaz and Shorty, ask Lambert or Strachan. Failing that, read their quotes...penny for karanka's thoughts...😂😂😂 As for Coyle, Iv got no source at all. Hence why I'm scratching about like the rest. But you won't find me rubbishing what people say. As I don't have the knowledge to do so. Back to the issue. There needs to be some positive news of more signings this week. One capture is hardly ground breaking and quality is far more important than quantity Fingers crossed hey. Be good to get a few in ready for pre-season.
Ribble Rover Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I'm with you mate on this, I bet uncle has played a major part in JR stopping around the academy system. Clearly lacking technical prowess and pace, would have been potted in his teens under normal non nepotism circumstances.
Pedro Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 No agenda here mate. I'm a Rovers fan. Always amazes me how people claim to want to hear real info until it doesn't suit their own ideas on a situation and then they rubbish it. Totally agree. I've sifted through so much bickering and nonsense on here lately. I've now developed a sick fascination to see who is either the most petulant, hypocritical or the one who is going to boil over and really lose it big time (maybe someone is going to sweep the board?). I've learnt a fair bit though. The standout themes being: A. Adults can be ridiculously childish, for prolonged periods of time. B. Opinionated people really struggle to accept any informed opinions that don't match their own. C. Chaddy is the devil incarnate for his positivity and for trying to keep threads on topic. D. You must conform or be ridiculed. E. Spelling mistakes will mean you instantly lose any arguement. F. Facts need not be factual. G. The word 'bunkum' is officially more overused than Kerry Katona's womb. H. Why research, when you can use guesswork?
jim mk2 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Rhodes was an odd player. Great eye for goal (although he missed as many as he scored) yet he struggled to do many of the basics that would come naturally to any decent amateur player. His dad Andy was a very good goalkeeper - perhaps Rhodes grew up banging the ball at his dad and never learnt how to play with other players or how to control a ball properly.
The Rover of Finland Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Wonder if Spurr signs as this Wham wing back is close to come on loan. Spurr would be a handy cover as he has played as a centre half also. Feeney seems to be on his way. Not jumping for joy but sounds like he was one of the better performores for Bolton. We should have enough wingers as Marshall, Conway and Bennett are here already. Mahoney should be challenging them seriously or go on loan.
Mani Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Owen Coyle Junior is on Twitter chatting with Nicko. Whether we like it or not Nicko is itk under this regime...so keep the updates coming lads!
chaddyrovers Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 Owen Coyle Junior is on Twitter chatting with Nicko. Whether we like it or not Nicko is itk under this regime...so keep the updates coming lads! Keep saying Nicko is ITK under Coyle. Even Owen Coyle Jnr says Nicko is in the know
gumboots Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Can I just say that OCJ should not be blabbing about rovers transfer business with anyone on twitter.
The Rover of Finland Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Can I just say that OCJ should not be blabbing about rovers transfer business with anyone on twitter.Manager's son commenting transfer rumours on twitter sounds like a bad joke.
Atomicrover Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Can I just say that OCJ should not be blabbing about rovers transfer business with anyone on twitter. I totally agree, however that's not what Mani said
rovers11 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Hendrie, Feeney, and prem loan to sign this week. Hopefully Graham as well. A strike force of Stokes and Graham would be top half material.
Backroom Tom Posted June 20, 2016 Backroom Posted June 20, 2016 Agree that Coyle needs to give his son a clip around the ear, poor show
gumboots Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I totally agree, however that's not what Mani saidI checked him out the other day. He was talking transfers. He shouldn't be. Not even vague hints and not to anyone. Whatever he's chatting to Nixon about its not a good idea.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 20, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted June 20, 2016 I checked him out the other day. He was talking transfers. He shouldn't be. Not even vague hints and not to anyone. Whatever he's chatting to Nixon about its not a good idea. It's poor form from both of them really. Quite why OCJ would be giving it large on Twitter I don't know!
The Rover of Finland Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Hendrie, Feeney, and prem loan to sign this week. Hopefully Graham as well. A strike force of Stokes and Graham would be top half material. Is it the Arsenal lad Crowley?
