JHRover Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Disgraceful comment from the club about Henrie joining from Premier League 'giants' West Ham. A club that would dearly love to have the history this club has. A club that the same season Venkys arrived got relegated and as recently as 4 years ago were playing in a lower division than Rovers. Now we're calling them 'giants'. Operation dumb down continues. Great news for little old Blackburn Rovers that the mighty titans West Ham have been generous enough to let us play one of their kids for a season. The Venky legacy in a nutshell. If they'd have done what they promised we'd be neck and neck with the spanners right now, but thanks to their ruining of the club we've to be ever so grateful for such a big club's handouts. If Hanley does go to Boro then surely the obvious choice would be Baptiste back on loan. If Hanley goes then we need to spend money on a proper replacement. Once again filling gaps with other clubs players to avoid spending will not solve the problem. The club needs assets in the form of decent players under contract long term. Not season long loans or 12 month contracts. I don't think Baptiste will be fit enough to play every week at CB in any event.

Something tells me the manager has had a large input to recent interviews by new recruits.
yeti-dog Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 1)I replied in kind. 2) he said he wanted to STAY. I'm bored of you now go and stalk someone else.
47er Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 "Stalk"? 2 posts? Don't flatter yourself! Got you on ignore now, that's how much I love stalking you! Much talk about Leicester's bids for Michael Keane; the latest - supposedly £15M - turned down by the Dingles We could have had him for £1M after his loan spell; he was outstanding during his time at Rovers. We didn't take the chance and the rest - as they say - is history Why do I raise this? Well with much talk about Grant going all I'd say is there ARE always other options out there. It just needs a sharp eye for quality and some shrewd dealing If you want another example here's one word "Vardy" You're right but sadly it won't happen under Venkys. The same dithering and incompetance that you refer to will ensure someone else steps in.

What I'm saying is that considering we only have 3 centre halves on the books and no right back of quality then he'd do (Baptiste). Considering he's 30 then get him in on loan and have none of the risk. If Hanley goes then we need to spend.
Stuart Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Stephen Hendrie has joined Championship side Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old Scottish full back moved from Hamilton Academicals to West Ham last summer but failed to make a single Premier League appearance under Slaven Bilic, who was not involved in the deal that brought Hendrie south. "Im absolutely delighted to put pen to paper," the defender told Blackburn's website. "Obviously its a massive club, it's going places and I'm buzzing to be here and I can't get wait to get started". Going places? Clearly yes but will it be up or down? I want to know which places we we going? Is he talking about the local pre-season friendlies?
chaddyrovers Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 From Kamy A couple of national papers claiming that Graham has opted to sign for Rovers. 3 year deal. Huge boost for us if true.

neophox Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Graham, Toral, Stokes, that would be a huge boost....must be that Hanley may leave then... On Hendrie, It could turn out really well, we shall see.
ABBEY Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Your beginning to sound like him now Is Partick Thistle now your second team by any chance ??? had same suspicion

Any further news on who's next in?

Hasn't broken through at all into West Ham's set up (perhaps because they're "giants" - "giants" - you're bang on where the hell did that come from?) Only played a few times for Southend - all in all doesn't seem the coup it's being made out to be. Now the lad may still come good, but a young Maldini that he's being made out to be, he's not.

We didn't take the chance and the rest - as they say - is history " I seem to recall Keane being rather scathing of his time here, wouldn't be coming back, so we actually never had the chance to buy him. Also he was ok, never outstanding, but you carry on dally.
G Somerset Rover Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 To be fair he was shunted out to RB during his time here from memory so never had a chance in his favoured position. Personally thought he was decent; excellent in the air and pretty decent on the deck.

neophox Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Could be a good day with good signings according to mate at Ewood.

What kind of midfielder is Powell? Anyone know?
BigUts Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Wowzers! Could we actually end up with a better squad then for the whole of last season?! Some would argue that it wouldn't be too difficult, but I suppose it shows there is good stuff about for free. I don't like the signing of Stokes (for non-footballing reasons), but he seems a decent footballer, the captures of Graham and Powell would be good signings too. I can't comment on Hendrie as to be honest, I'd never even heard of him before the signing was being mooted!
islander200 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 What kind of midfielder is Powell? Anyone know? Yeah injury-prone
yeti-dog Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Could be a good day with good signings according to mate at Ewood. Fingers crossed. We could do with some good news round here!
neophox Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 So Graham opted for Rovers instead of Celtic? Wow, Coyle KNOWS how to talk in both ways.

neophox Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 At the end of the day we could have: IN: Stokes, Graham,(Midfelder, think its Toral,) Hendrie, Out: Delfouneso, Williamsson, Brown, Jackson, Taylor, Kilgallon, Happy with that ? Also think there is a good chance getting Powell. Rovers starts off season with Norwich at home, then Wigan away...
yeti-dog Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Agree pal. But every time i see your username i think its BigNuts. Dont ask me why lol Funny that because I see BigTits. Freud would have a field day picking all that apart... Anyone claiming otherwise is just being churlish IMO..
