I like your enthusiasm, but I'd wager you've never seen 3 of them play before, so whilst its good to get some players on board, not sure how you can claim we'll be competitive?

How much would you wager? Hendrie is the only one I haven't seen live.

If I'm boycotting in boycotting, so no.

Serious question, do you think we'll be on the verge of going up?

Its not beyond the realms of possibility Gav - I mean this time last year, who would have pencilled Leicester in as Premier League champions or (more comparable) Burnley as promotion candidates in Dyche's first season?

I agree that it is unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

That's just churlish and stubborn to the point of cutting off your nose to spite your face

If that were to happen all credit would be deserved; however I think your nose is quite safe

It's called having principles and sticking to them.

The anti Venkys, anti Coyle sentiment seems to have subsided with talk of a few incoming players. People are forgetting they're just making up the numbers as we've no squad!

The mood will change once we start to kick a ball because Coyles a terrible manager, been proven time and time again.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but Coyles not improved since his burnley days so expect the worse.

Yes let's give him 6 months, then another 6 months and so on, but let's get on the back of the best manager we could have hoped for or are likely to ever get under these clowns and then thank the loooord he's walked!

Have to disagree.

What he did at Burnley was remarkable.

Went to Bolton mid season and kept them up comfortably. Following season, he had them mid table. Season after, relegated but they had terrible luck with injuries and were unlucky not to stay up. Saw Bolton a number of times over Coyle's PL reign (owing to friends and colleagues who follow them) and didn't hear too many complaints about Coyle - wheels only really fell off in Championship the following season.

Are there likely to be any more signings concluded today does anyone know?

Well my west ham friends reckon hendrie has a lot of potential and has pace and likes to attack...also a set piece specialist

If Spurr reads that he'll be off to PNE!

Because, as a Blackburn Rovers fan, I love the club. I check twitter, BRFCC and online most days as the interest in the club will never fade.

However, as a fan of Blackburn Rovers, I feel the best way to try and fight for the future of the club is to not show support to the Venkys tenure. It may well have zero effect and I appreciate that, however in my mind spending money on BRFC is a way of showing support to the current regime, something I cannot do. I believe the current management (everybody Coyle upwards) are no longer working in Blackburn Rovers best interests and the club will decline further whilst they are in positions of power.

One thing Coyle is, is desperate to make his time here a success. I don't believe he's some Venky stooge trying to achieve an ulterior goal of feathering the nests of others. So for that reason I do believe in a way he will be working towards the best interests of the club. He has to or his career is over.

Whether he has the talent (or money) to do that is a different question but there's no doubt he'll be trying to get the club promoted rather than just hanging on by its fingernails.

One thing a Burnley fan said to me recently is that Coyle is better without money, finding and working with players on the cheap or on loan who aren't the best but who he can form into an attacking unit. He also said he's full of bullsh** and isn't the best at organizing a defence so it might be swings and roundabouts.

It's his time at Wigan that worries me more than anything else.

Every Rovers fan wants him to be a success, but it doesn't matter how you spin things his time at Bolton, Wigan and Houston was nothing short of disastrous, he left all 3 clubs Deep in the mire and I see nothing on his CV to expect he'll do any different here and we've no board and no chairman!

Dave Whelan saw through him in less than 6 months, that speaks volumes for me.

But like Jim says, let's give him a chance.

Where has Graham a done deal come from? Still can't see it unfortunately.

Nicko and national papers this morning reporting it. was in the Sun and Guardian papers.

Dont know why everyone is so obsessed with Graham coming, hes 31 this summer and wont get any better so to give him 3 year deal is madness, But maybe that was the stumbling block. He's a good striker for this league, nothing more....

Graham was outstanding during his loan spell. He can hold the ball up, finishing, running the channels, link the play and great work rate. Striker we needed for ages

Agree.

Same with Stokes.

Both should have been on 2 year deals. Third year should have been an option exercisable subject to both parties commitment at some future date.

Rovers never learn - has cost us a fortune in pay-offs over the last few years. Underlines, IMV, the lack of nous at Ewood.

I have no problems giving Graham a 3 years deal.

I have huge doubts about Coyle but to be fair I can't fault what he is doing in terms of using a limited budget to rebuild the squad. With the emergency loan system being scrapped, he has to make sure that he has quantity as well as quality signed up by the end of the transfer window. So far so good, but at the end of the day it's how he blends them into a team that will define him as a manager. I must admit that I'm starting to look forward to the new season, even though I know it's going to be an uphill struggle.

Its good to see Coyle busy making deals and so early on in his reign. getting these 5 or players done before pre season has even started is a great start but at the end of the day results will decide everything

This sudden burst of optimism from you guys is making me nervous, we've only signed 2 players and Hanley could well be off. I'd reign in that sort of talk until it's the end of the transfer window. Could well see Marsh, Duffy and Hanley gone...

or maybe all three might stay? haha

I wouldn't be surprise to see Hanley leave and maybe join Big Sam at Sunderland.

I think one might leave, maybe Coyle will get Marshall to sign a new contract

Can't see Marsh staying, I know he's very good mates with Cairney so could see him going Fulham... Or wherever the big money is.

Out of the three widely accepted as our best players (Marshall, Hankey, Duffy) Marshall is the one I'd be most worried about if he left.

And rightly so. Centre-backs are usually easier to replace than attacking players.

Nixon says the loan player is still attatched to a previous loan club and it is not Patrick Roberts. Has to be Toral from Arsenal surely?

He also said it was not Toral. 😉 Should be solved 1st of july as contract with other club stops then.

Been telling you that for last three days.

My friend in London will owe me big time if he has got this one wrong - knowing him, I'm 99% certain of this.

Clearly a sensitive one - as such, do you really expect Nixon to say 'yes that's him' if someone came up with the name?
