Norbert Rassragr Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 So Graham and 1 or 2 others have signed. It makes you wonder what went on with Lambert, and how he was apparently not supported in his plans. Why is Coyle, who is probably a worse manager suddenly able to offer what must be fairly substantial contracts?Venky's will still screw it up, and we'll probably sell Duffy, Marshall and Hanley with no replacements but as the squad currently stands, there's enough to avoid relegation.

gumboots Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Except he shouldn't be doing it and his dad shouldn't be feeding him info. My dad didn't discuss details of his job with me, not sensitive ones, and I didn't discuss info about my pupils with my kids. And if I had accidentally let something slip they'd have known not to blab. It's wrong whichever way you look at it.
Stuart Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Two crackin signings tday then and although there's no transfer fees involved i bet theyre still both expensive and ambitious signings Who else have we signed today?

Presumably having sold Rhodes for a sizeable sum, Lambert expected not to sell anyone else to fund incoming. If he found he was about to be asked to bring in mainly frees and loans even in summer and he'd have to let at least one of the decent contracted players he had go and maybe more than one, then it would explain why he walked. Presumably the possible departures of anyone worth anything was discussed with Coyle at that non existent interview and he agreed to it
chilly Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I think with lambert he made certain promises about what he could do with the current squad, or what he could do if they allowed those winter transfers. It didn't happen and so they didn't trust him to give him the war chest he was promised.
Norbert Rassragr Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Good points of view there. It's a shame we ended up with Coyle after all that. I expect a few players to leave and weaken our squad.Apart from Graham and Stokes, who else was confirmed, and who is Mr. Byrne?

It didn't happen and so they didn't trust him to give him the war chest he was promised. Still don't understand those who say PL was the best option we had. He did nothing but moan when in charge. Look what's happened since; hardly a queue of clubs to sign him up. Whatever you think about Coyle he is getting on with it and hasn't put a foot wrong to date. Keep the signings coming; keep our best players and 2016/17 will be a good season Good points of view there. It's a shame we ended up with Coyle after all that. I expect a few players to leave and weaken our squad. Apart from Graham and Stokes, who else was confirmed, and who is Mr. Byrne? Byrne is a Man City player considered to have huge potential; bring it on!
LewisF Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 So if the mystery player is Byrne, I'm guessing that Toral is a no-go?

It didn't happen and so they didn't trust him to give him the war chest he was promised. You think he made promises about what he could do - but also agreed an exit clause? One which HE then activated when he was hearing nothing from the owners. The same owners who then took weeks and weeks deliberating over a manager following an extensive selection process and then brought in somebody under the cloud that they did? It's one thing trying to rewrite history but don't just make things up! Everyone who has stood up to Venkys has left our club, everyone else has kept their teas shut and taken their coin. I know who's word I will trust and who I will give the benefit of any doubt to and it sure as hell ain't Venkys and their minions.
dallydally Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 So if the mystery player is Byrne, I'm guessing that Toral is a no-go? Unless we get both!!
Backroom Tom Posted June 23, 2016 Backroom Posted June 23, 2016 So if the mystery player is Byrne, I'm guessing that Toral is a no-go? Don't think Toral has ever been a goer just a name mentioned on here
Pedro Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Youtube gave us Carlos Villanueva once upon a time I posted it hahaha! Every time someone mentions looking good on a YouTube video I think of Carlos!
Pedro Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Why is Coyle, who is probably a worse manager suddenly able to offer what must be fairly substantial contracts? It's only the top-level doom mongers on here saying we couldn't possibly be able to offer Graham enough per week. If enough people agree, opinion like that quickly becomes factual information on here. Things certainly aren't great but it's unrealistic to think that the Venkys won't pay decent wages. High transfer fees and high wages...I think that's very highly unlikely though.
the original david brent Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Another one following the nobody that is Owen Coyles son I presume, its embarrassing. I saw his tweet earlier saying great news with the blue and white emojis, presumably in reference to Graham signing. It looked like something a genuine rovers fan would tweet. Which got me thinking - is it possible he is actually a Rovers fan? I know nothing about him. I have no idea how old he is. I do know Coyle lives in Langho and has done for some time. Langho is a Rovers stronghold. I assume said son has grown up in Langho. Anybody know who he supports?
perthblue02 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Simon Eastwood joined Appleton at Oxford United
Backroom Tom Posted June 23, 2016 Backroom Posted June 23, 2016 Good move for him he needs to be playing, he isn't a terrible keeper not much if at all worse than Steele and the Boro game showed he was capable of Friedel style one off games - something I haven't seen Steele ever do

I will once again bet Abbeys mortgage thats he's not a Blackburn Rovers fan db, and even if he was, he should not be c0ck teasing Rovers fans following him on twitter, its embarrassing, nauseating, unprofessional, amateurish and a disgrace that the manager/club allows it, but equally not surprising. Just another example of how far this club has fallen.
ABBEY Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 It wasn't so many pages ago on this thread that Abbey brazenly said he has zero interest in transfers. Begs the question what is he doing here. I'd suggest he needs to focus his time on the Protest/Venky's out/ PuneLoons threads as he adds the sum toal of diddly squat in this thread! Having looked at the YouTube clips of Byrne I'd have to say I'm quietly excited.Yes we've been burnt there before (*cough* Villaneuva) but I like the fact he's just had a season in Holland where it seems he did well. Lots more still to do but at least we've hit the ground running this summer (which we obviously had to do having barely no squad left!) not like you to stick your oar in is it...WHAT THE HELL HAS GOT TO DO WITH YOU WHERE I POST ??? YOU ARE NOT THE INTERNET POLICE SO SHUT UP!!!!!
Leonard Venkhater Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Except he shouldn't be doing it and his dad shouldn't be feeding him info. ABBEY Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Nothing to do with chaddy, it's this mentality that the fans are to blame - it's just cathartic anger based on nothing but your own lack of a solution, why bait other into it? What's my job got to do with anything? I don't know or remotely care what you do for a living. You said "behind a box" as if it makes a difference. You still haven't explained how shouting make some noise is blaming fans. I never asked for it to be removed but I am fully aware of how this is boring for everyone and I'd expect it to be removed. If the mods are just going to leave up posts of you talking smack then I'm not going to ignore it. I'm sick of it. Baiting, winding others up, taking his anger out on us and finally being allowed to all along. LOOK YOU @#/? STIRRER YOU CAME ON ONE THREAD TO WIND ME UP AND THEN ANOTHER ...QUITE PATHETIC REALLY. Abbey seriousley you're like a big kid, we get it you have venkys but do you have to jump on every single God damn thread with VENKYSOUT.. just relax have a debate.. Talk about who we have signed.. Yes until venkys go it's never going to be rosey but can we just calm down and chit chat like fellow fans of the same club WHAT YOU GOING TO DO THREATEN ME AGAIN...SHHHHHAKING WHY STICK YOUR UNWANTED NOSE IN YET AGAIN.
Neal Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Despite if people listen to Coyles lad or not... Its an embarrassment. If he's going to vocal about the goings on his dad is doing at Rovers then I hope he's ready accept the @#/? storm of abuse if his dad cocks it up... Which is highly likely.

That is actually a very good observation, and I suspect he is a Celtic/Rovers fan. I'm not linked to him on Twitter as I only use it for work purposes but did he used to tweet about his old man's dealings when he was at other clubs?

Veevs Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Was interesting listening to Coyles interview about the Graham signing.. wants a creative attacking midfielder next and has his eye on the kid, from the sounds of it I reckon it might be Roberts. Talks of goals from more players in the team and praises DG lots...
