Bennett is on Twitter saying another good signing. I think it's Byrne.

Got a feeling that they are waiting to seal the deal with Feeney so they can announce them both together, sneak the not so good news out with the better news.

Good point about the announcement. Probably do it on Monday. But all terms have been agreed according to Alan Nixon

Someone has jumped the gun and updated Byrne on Wiki to show as being on loan to us. His only experience so far, and he is 20 years old, is a relegation season in Holland. That will come in handy here. Might do well, who knows.

Feeney isn't that bad. He didn't do anything here in his fleeting loan appearances but the lad deserves a chance and impressed at Bolton. Offers experienced back up at the very least.

When you say he impressed at Bolton, they're in the 3rd division, went down with 30 points, 25 points less than us and we had a terrible season.

How good can he be?

You can't blame relegation on one player Gav. We got relegated with Mike England at centre-half - who was then sold in the summer for a record fee! We went down to the Third Division with Roger Jones in goal - one of the best 'keepers we have ever had.

Coyle saying in LT today that he hopes that the signing of Graham and Stokes shows a real statement of intent,

Am I missing something?

It shows we are in bargain bin , i guess thats the message?

Graham was on loan here last season and did very well, so now we have signed him with a signing on fee and given him a good pay deal but is not an improvement as he was already here.

Stokes, despite doing well north of the border , still has lots to prove south of the border, a free transfer, but no bosman is free. I think he is an improvement on the ones we have released but certainly not going to single handedly propel us up the to promotion candidates.

Feeney? Was not great last time , i do think Taylor who has left is a much better player. Again a bosman signing, but not getting me all excited for new season.

Byrne - highly rated, as was Grimes last season and the other young lad from Swansea we had last season whose name escapes me. A season long loan, but certainly not the missing piece of this big jigsaw, given Gomez, grimes and others have left. Its not a bad start but still no real money parted with.

Left back we needed, got a young one on loan following Olssons departure last season and may need another of Spurr goes too.

Are we stronger, weaker or same?

In my opinion we are weaker given we have lost a host of players. There is a long way to go but we need to get that cheque book out , As the PR im feeling suggest we should now be excited, which Im not sure how that works?

Im happy we have signed the ones we have and have no complaints regarding their arrivals, however im of the opinion we need 3 or 4 top signings, which are light years ahead of what we had and what we have signed.

At present we are bottom 6 with the squad we have, its now down to Venkys to back the manager and give him real cash.

What I would add, at least he has not hung around and is making signings early , which gives us a better pre-season than last minute.com which I always felt was the case last summer

Yes you're right of course, and I'm not blaming 1 player, I'm questioning how good he can be Parson.

I know several Bolton season ticket holders, one said he was useless, one said he worse than useless but great at drinking!!

Time will tell...

Ah Roger Jones. What a star he was.

Coyle is doing what Coyle does, talking a very good game, sadly when it comes to producing the goods he's more often than not left looking stupid, out of his depth.

The sound bytes are all well and good, Ewood blues will be lapping it up in bucket loads, but when the talking stops and the football starts, thats when he'll be judging him.

I'm also uncomfortable with the way he seems to be claiming the capture of Danny Graham, Paul Lambert was the key to us signing Danny Graham, not Owen Coyle.

Glen ("Im happy we have signed the ones we have and have no complaints regarding their arrivals")

The bit i quoted is why "positive". Ät this stage many of us figured no arrivals and that graham would go elsewhere.

Much to do but shows OC is at least taking it seriously and we won't be having wallpaper upfront...

Coyle has done the talking throughout his managerial career but Burnley aside he simply hasn't delivered. He tries to con people with this pseudo enthusiasm and false spin. Anybody who gets sucked in by his guff is naive in the extreme.

Seems to me to be saying more that it was the fans that swung the deal - which is fair enough. The rest is standard stuff for any manager regarding any decent signing (imo)

Blackburn Rovers ‏@Rovers 1m
Who's up for another five-minute warning?

considering that even the in todays rovers articles the LT are talking about Byrne and Feeney as though they are already signed i think its going to be no surprise whats to come

Duff, Dunn, Jansen etc. were in our relegation side. What relevance is there in a single player being part of a poor side?
