Backroom Mike E Posted September 11, 2016 Backroom Posted September 11, 2016 But players running over to the fans take the cameras directly to sponsor logos... Exactly mate! I was hoping 'but but but' would indicate my mockery.

He's probably just going the extra mile to sign Kevin Davies for Blackpool....

Surprised not to see a few agents on that course (sponsored by the FA) after the succesfull Blackburn Rovers trial
47er Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 For what it's worth, I thought the match itself was great. Very entertaining with both teams going for it. Some woeful defending but a fantastic spectacle for a neutral. The decision to send Pereira off was shameful, but it's hard to lambast the ref for it. He was following the laws of the game and probably would have been giving a dressing down by his superiors had he not produced a second yellow. It's the laws themselves that need relaxing, a bit of common sense is needed. How often have players or fans been injured through mutual celebration? Genuine question, as the only reason I can see for such a silly rule is that there have been many instances of injury in this scenario. Off the top of my head I can't remember any. I can remember one from a few years back where one team-mate picked up the scorer in the celebration of the goal and he went over his shoulder and landed on his head! I've an idea it was a Cup Final but I could be totally wrong! (Not that it detracts from your point of course!)

It was Tony Adams who dropped Steve Morrow after Arsenal had actually won the Littlewoods Cup at Wembley. The story goes that Morrow was asked in hospital how he sustained the injury (broken shoulder from memory) he replied "I fell off a donkey".
Backroom DE. Posted September 13, 2016 Backroom Posted September 13, 2016 I'm guessing that it isn't a yellow card offence to pick up a team mate in celebration, though. Hug the fans, and you're busted.
Athlete Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 The bottom 3 us Wigan + Rotherham....can see it ending that way at the begining of the season I said we'd have to be better than the promoted sides and Rotherham to stay up......we can all see where this is going
J*B Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 When we go down do we get to play our U23s in that silly cup?
Husky Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 2 good results for us tonight with Rotherham and Villa only managing draws at home.
Blue blood Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 But other teams are still picking up points. Both are another point further away from us and it's only after game 7.
Husky Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Re fixtures that leapt off the page: Wigan v Fulham WTF? Are the channel 5 football show writers on crack?
chaddyrovers Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Preston fans yesterday were after Grayson being sack. I really don't get why they want rid. He has had no money to spend this summer and Garner was sold, their owner not investing millions but to his credit they are debt free(which is a good thing). so who better could they honestly get tbh? Maybe the fans expectations have bigger than the owners expectations are?
Backroom Tom Posted September 18, 2016 Backroom Posted September 18, 2016 Jeremy Helan from Sheffield Wednesday has retired at 24 to devote his life to his religion (Islam) which is a surprising move

Parsonblue Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Jeremy Helan from Sheffield Wednesday has retired at 24 to devote his life to his religion (Islam) which is a surprising move I remember Peter Knowles walking out on Wolves in 1969 to become a Jehovah's Witness. At the time he was one of the outstanding young players in the First Division and an England Under-23 international on the verge of full England honours. If I remember rightly, I think Wolves retained his registration for many years in the hope he would return but he never did.
Backroom Tom Posted September 18, 2016 Backroom Posted September 18, 2016 Didn't the Argentina keeper from 1998 Roa retire to the mountains to be a monk. Wasn't there rumours of the same with Simon Vukevic?
J*B Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Yeah Simon definately did something weird towards the end. Good player mind.

Husky Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Preston and Wigan both look like good teams from a distance.
McClarky Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Just looking at the league, if you take Derby and Villa out of the bottom 8 I can see the 3 to go down coming from the other 6. So we have 4 points in 4 games against the teams around us, not good enough.
arbitro Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Preston and Wigan both look like good teams from a distance. I thought both teams looked really poor. Not having seen Rovers this season I have nothing to compare them against but if the standard of Rovers is worse than them two then we must be bad.
Blue blood Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Not too surprised Preston won. Grayson is a good manager - admittedly I keep saying this - and he did a great job lad year of keeping a league 1 standard club in the championship. Think he'll probably do so again, although Preston's team is no better than ours. That's the difference a good manager makes.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 24, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted September 24, 2016 It was a really poor game of football, the PNE and Wigan one, not a lot of quality at all. Wigan probably the better side, but they were toothless up too.
