I remember last season that plenty of Rovers fans were saying 'at least we're not in as bad a state as Bolton' when they were going down in pitiful fashion and couldn't pay their players. Administration and a winding up order were close by for that lot and they had the humiliation of having to sell of their training ground to Wigan.

They've had their tough times but it looks as though they are coming out the other side of it. They've got new owners and whilst they don't have much cash they've managed to keep hold of most of their squad from last season and some decent players for the 3rd division like Clough, Vela, Wheater etc.

The crowd issue is in some ways immaterial. Most clubs will get healthier gates if they are promotion favourites and expected to win most weeks under new ownership and management than if they are relegation favourites and expected to lose every week with an incompetent manager and the same old dodgy owners presiding over the same old dodgy regime as the last 6 years.

I suppose it goes to show that if the ownership structure change can be brought about, eventually, then the supporters can and will respond to that and can buy in to the new owners even if in a lower league.

Our crowds will continue to drop under this mob as everyone knows that they will never change, will never do business properly and thus the club will never achieve any level of success. Bolton have done their business properly since last season by appointing a decent League One manager, not having a fire sale of players and actually proving they want promotion rather than the nonsense our lot spout about wanting to get up which is a complete lie.

These dumb owners run their squads into the ground and continue on a downgrade that only huge investment would put right then think by keep swapping manager they unearth someone who'll perform a miracle with nothing.

Muppets

Then again they could be filling their own personal back pockets playing the odds market whilst playing Russian roulette with the clubs and running them on huge debt !

There has to be something behind this widespread nonsense that keeps happening. Wonder if Charltons next boss will be a 25-1 long shot ????

Seems that Charlton's owner has finally pushed the FA into seeking some sort of answer as to what is going on there. According to this they are also looking at events at Rovers, Blackpool, Leeds and Leyton Orient and will deal with each case individually.

A governing body not fit for purpose. Coar must be right at home with that lot.

At least Charlton have got a Chief Exec.

Hopefully Cheston gets dragged in to the FA soon too.

Just watching the Ipswich Forest game and the commentators have made the point that the Forest owner has only spent £2 million in four years and has made £4m from two player sales.

Why are these kinds of statements not levelled at Venkys?

So important that we got 3 points today. With wins for Forest and Cardiff a defeat or draw for Rovers would have been a disaster. The win just about keeps us in touch with the pack including Wolves and Burton and even Ipswich. We're going to need to find 2 clubs besides Rotherham to finish above. Wigan possibly, Burton if their wheels come off as they could, no chance with Warnock at Cardiff or Lambert at Wolves, or McCarthy at Ipswich, so not many other contenders at this moment in time.

Link doesn't work, for me anyway. Would like to read it.

I feel Ipswich and Barsnley will drop further down the league imo.

Burton, Forest and Wigan will be around the bottom 3 come end of the season.

Rotherham are probably already going down.

Yes Rotherham are gone if either us or wigan survive it'll be at the expense of forest and maybe Burton
