Really???

18 points from last 12 games. Keep that up and we will mid table

32 points after 31 games last season would have had us nowhere near mid-table. But don't let facts get in the way

20 Milton Keynes Dons ..31 8 7 16 8 13 25 42 -17 31

21 Bristol City ................31 7 10 14 8 11 27 48 -21 31

22 Rotherham United .....31 7 5 19 8 7 36 55 -19 26

23 Charlton Athletic .......31 5 10 16 5 15 26 56 -30 25

24 Bolton Wanderers ....31 4 12 15 6 14 30 52 -22 24

and the season before

20 Rotherham United .........31 7 13 11 7 12 32 41 -9 34

21 Brighton and Hove A .....31 6 13 12 8 11 32 39 -7 31

From what I hear - only second hand - it sounds as if the owners are determined to stay. Indeed, I don't think relegation would persuade them to leave. Thus it's up to the manager to work within incredibly tight boundaries to build a team that is capable of staying in the Championship. At the moment Championship survival is the name of the game - and looking at the table it's the same for about half the teams in the League. Nobody said it would be easy, indeed I suspect the next few years are going to be even more testing but at the moment we are surviving at this level - just.

This is very worrying if true , the club will not survive in any shape or form another 6 years of the Venkys !

They have to go NOW...

The question that really needs answering is Why ?

Surely , they and their associates have fleeced every last rupee from this once proud football club ?

Just over 12,000 Stuart with almost 2,000 from Huddersfield. I must admit that in the Jack Walker Upper it certainly felt as though there were more on yesterday - first time this season I've had to queue up for a coffee before the game. Obviously the actual figure will be less but it certainly looked like there were more on than usual.

I was in the JW upper towards the Darwen end and there were certainly more around me than appeared in that photograph. I don't know when it was taken but it must have been at a time when some were on the concourse for some reason or other. Maybe just before half time when many go for a beer.

There is no point arguing with some people, we are allegedly playing really well and performing like a top half team................... I must be watching different games to some people

On the topic of Lenihan, didn't he play regularly at centre back in the Academy and Reserves? I seem to remember one of his first appearances in the first team at Oxford in the FA Cup he played at centre back and it being said that he switched between holding midfield and centre back.

I've read somewhere on here that happens at some grounds where the official att is announced on the scoreboard but the actual attendance flashes up in the boardroom or something. I think it was at North End someone mentioned that happens. Pretty sure at Rovers they include all the corporates and people in the boxes in the official figure as well.

That happens at most grounds mate. I know at Morecambe they have turnstile rec computers in the ticket office, ground safety office and one in the boardroom. They show the total number of turnstile clicks, the figure announced is never a reflection of those clicks.

Excuse me if I'm missing something, but if we get 18 from the next 12, we'd be at 38 points...?

Yes, on 20 points out of 19 form (including those first 7, which is of course fair, but the argument is there's reason to believe the last 12 games is a better reflection of the team's true talent...), we'd be at 32-33 points and deservedly just hovering above relegation.

Get claiming the Moscow trip back, AL!

If only Jim. Aside from the two on Saturday, Batty/Le Saux, Dyer/Bowyer and Flanagan/Hayles I have never heard or seen of any others. It's a rare occurrence in a game but from what I am told an everyday event on training grounds up and down the country. And I think I am correct saying that Batty and Le Saux were the only ones who weren't sent off.

There was one in Scotland as well Tony; two Hearts players Craig Levein and Graeme Hogg. They were the centre halves and started arguing over who should have been picking up the lad playing centre forward for the opposition that had just scored a goal. Things got out of hand and they really started battering each other, with Levein landing a beauty of a punch that broke Hogg’s nose. They were, of course, both sent off - with Hogg being shown his red card while being stretchered off!

Hogg got a 10-game ban while Levein was suspended for 12 matches and stripped of his captaincy. He is now the Hearts' Director of Football lol.

By the way, this was just a pre-season friendly against (I think) Raith Rovers!

You would be right. That's why people should never post late when they are tired :D

Revision: 38 points from 31 games would have us in 15th in 2015/16 and 16th in 2014/15

so lower mid table.........hardly comfortable..........still looking over out shoulder with a poor squad and incompetent manager

Derby chairman gets backing from other clubs regarding transparency over the FL (or EFL just in case you are unsure which country the league is in) TV contracts . The powerpoint boys at BRFC are backing the FL apparently

According to that only 4 clubs have come out in support of the League and the other 3 all have representatives on the League board.

Good old Rovers just in it for the easy life and don't want to rock the boat with anyone.

It's alarming really that the product is supplied by the football clubs yet they cannot have access to contract. The EFL (how I despise that idiotic name) wouldn't exist without the clubs and the lack of transparency just lends itself to suspicion. Confidence in the football authorities is at an all time low and the EFL are just adding to the growing lack of confidence in them.

Brighton have announced losses of £25.9 million in the last year, yet claim they remain within FFP limits.

Regardless of what loopholes they have found to get round the FFP rules, any club that loses that amount of money ought to be sanctioned as we were. The fact they haven't been and have pledged to continue to chase the Premier League shows these rules out to be absolute nonsense.

It also shows that crowds are largely irrelevant in the scheme of things as Brighton have got higher average gates than almost everyone else, regularly getting 25,000+ turning up, and yet have lost massive money, more than most in the last 12 months.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/dec/08/leeds-owner-massimo-cellino-banned-18-months?CMP=share_btn_tw

Leeds owner Cellino banned from football for 18 months starting in February next year.

Interesting point, as part of his punishment he also has to attend and complete an education programme covering "the duties and responsibilities of an owner and director of an English football club".

I never knew such a course existed or that the authorities had the power to force an owner/chairman to go on such a thing. Question therefore must be why the likes of Venkys, Sisu, Duchatelet and Oyston have never been told to go on such a course and have been left alone to destroy their clubs free from interference whilst Cellino is getting forced into it after breaking agents rules.

Just posted this on the other thread. I've love to be a fly on the wall at that course.

Just half watching Derby v Forest. The Johnson/Osborn challenge is laughable. A complete overreaction from Osborn, holding his face and doing several rolls on the floor when he wasn't even touched. How he can look himself in the mirror after that, I'll never know. Needs to be hauled in front of the cameras and made to explain his actions.

This play acting is one of the reasons I've taken to watching more Rugby League and less Football. Diving is killing the game. It's heading towards the point of who's got the best cheats not who's got the best footballers.

Totally agree. These will be the main reasons I stop watching football and it's fast approaching.
