A cup of beans Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Obviously goes without saying :we have to beat all 3. Burton, Wigan and Bristol City.

Backroom Tom Posted February 22, 2017 Backroom Posted February 22, 2017 Another biggy tonight, Bristol at home to fulham

What a fall from grace he's had since leaving us. Earned a lot of cash though, which for most footballers these days is all that really matters.
Bigdoggsteel Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Fulham need to win to keep any play off hopes alive. I think they will do it.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Cairney is a Rover! Big result that is for us tonight. City were at home too.
Backroom Tom Posted February 22, 2017 Backroom Posted February 22, 2017 A nice demoralising loss for them tonight they are catchable if we somehow shape up

Unless they change the manager they're surely going down.
Bigdoggsteel Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Get it Cairney! We have every chance of getting out of this if we start getting a few results. Some real poor teams in bad runs of form around us. Come on Tony Mowbary

JHRover Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Made me laugh the other day when that bitter little man Andy Cryer was mouthing off on twitter trying to wind Rovers fans up by suggesting Steve Kean as next manager. Silly thing to do really when his beloved City are just above Rovers and are heading downwards at an alarming rate. They've lost the plot big style and if Johnson stays they will surely be relegated. Question is will we be the 3rd club or can we get above Wigan/Burton/Forest? How bitter will Cryer be if Rovers survive at the expense of his lot after his attempts this week to wind up Rovers fans.
Butty Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Birmingham City and Villa both in free fall, Forest also look poor. They could get dragged into the mire with us Burton Bristol City and Wigan. The league really is of a poor standard this season, best of a bad bunch will stay up.

Mattyblue Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Johnson was given a new four year deal in early December.... hardly won a match since
chor808 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Looking back since 2010 this is what is needed to avoid the drop 2010 - 49 2011 - 48 2012 - 482013 - 55 2014 - 44 2015 - 46 2016 - 49 2013 stands out as an odd one however we are going to need about 48-50 points to be safe. We have 15 games to go with 29 on the board. So to get 50 we need 1.4 points per game, 48 says 1.26. On season form we are getting 0.93 a game (disgrace) which would leave us on 42 ish points which would be down. We need to see about a six to eight point bounce from Mowbrey if you use season stats. If you take the last ten games our form is a little worse, coil was using the FA cup to make us look better, last ten games 0.9 points per game, which is down. We have: Burton Albion A Derby H Wigan H Cardiff H Norwich A Fulham A Preston North End H Brighton A Reading A Barnsley H Nottingham Forest A Bristol City H Wolves A Aston Villa H Brentford A You would have to look at home first, Wigan, Bristol City as must wins so 6 points we need 14 points from the rest where will we get them!

Hopefully when we play some of those teams, they have nothing to play for. Always a good source of points.
Athlete Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 50 is the benchmark in the championship will it take 50 only Time will tell

I did wonder about Birmingham before they got their first win under Zola. Think they're the likeliest candidates to get sucked into the scrap. Rowett may have earned them enough points before being potted though to save them. But of any team gets sucked in think it'll be them.
