Backroom Tom Posted February 1, 2017 Author Backroom Posted February 1, 2017 As Kamy said maybe we can sack him off for free as a result
Lancaster Rover Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Not necessarily, it depends what we knew of the case prior to offering him a contract.

tomphil Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Someones played a blinder getting this guy out of Celtic ready for a freebie to Hibs......
Lancaster Rover Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I think his agent is Gerry Carlile, long time supporter of Glasgow Green Brigade. Pretty sure he owns a pub in Belfast with Paddy McCourt that does a lot of celtic foundation fundraising.
Hanks Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Its being reported that Stokes has offered his victim 30,000 euros
Dr Awesome Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 He's a monumental tool. Always has been, from his original spell at Hibs.
Lancaster Rover Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Looking at some of the company Stokes keeps I think the complainant would be best advised to take the money.

Hanks Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 He has been given a two year suspended sentence apparently
G Somerset Rover Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Surely that's enough to get him off our books?

funny-old-game Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 striker Anthony Stokes ordered by Irish court to pay an Elvis impersonator €230,000 for headbutting him in a nightclub
J*B Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 The big scandal here is someone as utterly shite as Anthony Stokes is in a position to pay someone over 200 grand.
Spalding Rover Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/588938/Anthony-Stokes-headbutt-Elvis-Anthony-Bradley-nightclub Daily star so might be wrong but says Former Blackburn player?? Did he get his contract terminated? Who has the authority to terminate it? Big bad Venkeys probably ashamed he didn't use a metal bar.
Backroom Tom Posted February 16, 2017 Author Backroom Posted February 16, 2017 I'd take a headbutt for £200,000 a ludicrous amount of money
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 He should have used Gerrard's lawyer
NinjaTattoo Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Nearly 1/4 Million Euro for a head butt ? Jesus Christ 8)
tomphil Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 The hidden wankers probably got him here on a nice contract and signing on fee anticipating this fine, Rovers will be paying it one way or another. I posted somewhere on here not long after he signed that they'd end up paying this half wit off by summer. Goodwille written all over it, Stokes never came here for football reasons for one minute. Stinks

Back to Stokes. Not much originality can be added. Reading the reports he feels no sorrow or remorse and I think he'll be relived to have avoided the jail house. I doubt it made much of a dint financially. Stokes riches far outweigh his footballing talents.

When we signed him from Hertha 'rumour' was he was massive in debt personally ( gambling) and only his model wife/girlfriend kept him afloat. Rovers paid his debt and he had to pay it back via his wages etc which adds to the claim he wanted a transfer so many times yet the club wouldnt sell him. Disclaimer - thats the story i was told.
