You'd think that after failing in last few jobs Coyle might want to surround himself with new coaching staff as clearly he was failing with the ones he was working with previously. If he now appoints Stewart to replace Irvine then he seems not to be looking at why he failed and trying a new approach, which does not bode well.

Without question he will bring in Stewart.

Said not long ago this was nailed on. No way does an experienced manager like Coyle come in and work with someone else's backroom staff, it rarely happens in football. Just a subtle effort to get Coyle through the door without adding to the fuss and another amount of wasted pay offs and pay ins.

Just like the fact Feeney was done and dusted the min Coyle walked in but they buried it. Just like he doesn't know the agency he worked with previously ! I wouldn't trust a single word that comes out of that club these days it's just fallen in line with it's corrupt ownerships way of doing things.

There ought to be no uproar whatsoever when we lose Hanley / Marshall because you've all be warned enough the track we are continuing to go down.

You have been on message for a long time now Tomps.

Deceipt, lies, spin. The Venky way.

Somebody called this yesterday, saying OC would want his mate Stewart alongside. Looks like that will be imminent.

Makes even more a mockery of the manager 'search' criteria of wanting them to work with AI and RK.

Not really - the criteria of working with AI and RK was probably more about not wanting to pay them off.

Coaches do follow managers but Stewart was available when Coyle was appointed so why didn't it happen then instead of now, two days into pre season. No doubt I will be accused of being a conspiracy theorist but something about this just doesn't smell right.

It smells fine☺

First day of pre-season, back after a paid break, players will come back wanting to move on. Coaches will also want to move on etc. I don't know if he'll be a loss or not. I believed in Lambert long term but facts are, his record wasn't great and we went on a couple of Bowyer esque poor runs. I'll give Coyle a clean slate but my expectations aren't high at all.

Coyle will want to work with whoever he can work best with. I'm not surprised Irvine has left. Furthermore, should we be really that bothered? We had two "Premier League" managers running us for the most part of last season. It's easy to forget how poorly they fulfilled their roles. I expected much better on the pitch, so if we can have those same crap performances for a lot less money, then why not?

It's not that Coyle wants to bring in his own staff. That's a given. It's that the club couldn't lie straight in bed.

If Irvine has got a new job then I wonder if he joining Everton staff under Koeman.

I would make Rob Kelly as number 2 with Dunn as first team coach.

Forget Stewart but I expected him to join us tho.

Irvine was at pre season training on Monday

Come off It. Alan Irvine is an ex-player and a popular one at that. We were all chuffed when he came, we felt he had the interests of the club at heart, and the thought that he was still here was comforting in its way. Is there anyone left we can trust?

Accepting mediocrity? Are you not in the least suspicious?

Not a criticism but on what basis would you make Dunn first team coach?

Koeman had Sammy Lee at Southampton and will be no surprise to see Irvine do the same job at Everton - Irvine lives Formby way so a great move for him.
