Don't know much about Charlie Mulgrew, thought I'd google him, first newspaper article I read started with :

"Charlie Mulgrew who has been plagued by serious injury problems over the last 2 seasons "

Yet we hand him a 3 year deal, I really cannot imagine any other club doing this.

Why would we offer a 3 year contract to a 30 year old who as only managed to play 35 games over the last 2 seasons because of injury?

Because agents said we have to (maybe)

Good signing(if he stays fit) for the midfield area. But can play other positions.

Maybe Coyle is going to play 3 at the back after the international break

To say you want venkys out , every chuffing signing is s good signing

according to transfermarkt it seems that it is the same injury that he suffers from, he's been out injured for 276 days with thigh muscle related injuries.

Overloaded wallet in his right pocket was the cause.

To be honest every signing could be a good signing, just not when we have Coyle picking them.

That Hughesy lad who used to post on here is a right plonker these days judging by his Twitter ramblings. Relentlessly defending the 3 year deal to Mulgrew, which follows on from having a pop at the fans for chanting 'Venkys Out' on Saturday.

He's a venky lover. They do no wrong in his eyes

Yet again you make another cheap shot/personal insult. You dont know me or anything about me.

Shame you have zero to add to the transfer thread

I seen your fan club as join in with you again. No surprise who they are.

It's a desperate signing by a manager who is becoming increasingly desperate himself. If he wanted Mulgrew he could have signed him in July and had him for the whole of pre-season. Instead he went for Hendrie and when he turned out to be a dud we signed Williams on a three year contract last week. That's three possible players who could play at left-back and yet, we have Jack Doyle who was already here and never been given a chance.

ParsonBlue, I agree on Hendrie with your opinion.

I feel Doyle is better option at this stage.

On Mulgrew, I think Centre midfield is his best position. I thought he re sign for Celtic this summer until yesterday when I realised he hadnt

Thought Williams did very well at left back did nothing wrong against Fulham

Iceman, aren't you available on a free still? Give Coyley a ring! :)

Free, me? I feel offended by that mate :D

Lambert wanted him. Maybe Mulgrew wanted to consider options first, which is why he didn't come in July.

Surely we should wait till he plays a few games until we become his critics.
