Venkys don't care less if the club is relegated. It's all about avoiding putting any more funds into the club (as they have none) and cutting expenditure to run the club with as small a loss as possible.

Kept Lambert, given him a decent transfer kitty, give him what he needed to bring in quality. Get us promoted, and boom baby, you are back in the big time, and some nice extra promotion cash to take home.

Interesting conversations with a former agent called John on 5 Live in the last few minutes. 'Confirmation' that Mendes is in bed with Wolves' new Chinese owners, and the possibility that substitutions at 60, or 75 minutes are to avoid bonuses.

It's a desperate signing by a manager who is becoming increasingly desperate himself. If he wanted Mulgrew he could have signed him in July and had him for the whole of pre-season. Instead he went for Hendrie and when he turned out to be a dud we signed Williams on a three year contract last week. That's three possible players who could play at left-back and yet, we have Jack Doyle who was already here and never been given a chance.
